00:01I'm here in Port Adelaide, about three kilometres from a dangerous fire which is burning at a large industrial shed
00:09containing sulphur.
00:10The Metropolitan Fire Service says it is toxic, that smoke, and the SA Ambulance Service has taken one person to
00:17hospital.
00:18There's been thick, white, billowing smoke coming from that industrial shed.
00:22And advice for nearby residents is to keep your windows closed, turn your AC off and close your vents.
00:29Now, people we've been speaking to in the area, while there was a one kilometre exclusion zone asking people to
00:35evacuate if they're in the area.
00:37Well, for some people in nearby areas like Port Adelaide or in Semaphore, we've been hearing that some are unaware
00:43that this event has been unfolding,
00:45while others have been witnessing it from afar. Let's take a listen to what they've had to say.
00:50Well, we're seeing a bit of smoke and I thought it was just the terrible pollution of Port Adelaide.
00:54You know, it's just a bit of a normal look for this area, but it would tend to be a
00:58bit worse.
00:58I smelt it a bit and I think my mum and my friend actually got a notification on their phones
01:02about it.
01:03No, I haven't noticed. And it's a cloudy day all over today, so you can't really tell if there's been
01:11any sort of sulphur explosion or anything like that.
01:14Yeah.
01:15Other people we've spoken to include some workers just outside of that exclusion zone who were unaware of this situation.
01:22And also some tourists here who were watching the Port River Dolphins who had no idea that this event was
01:28unfolding.
01:29But as we said, the Metropolitan Fire Service says that smoke is toxic and are advising people within one kilometre
01:36of that area to take precautions.
01:39Now, an independent school also sent school children home as a precaution and firefighters are expecting to be on the
01:47scene for some time.
01:48So, as we say, I will pay for some patience to follow my own亲 elevate.
