00:00MACC has detained a former CEO and an ex-chief financial officer of a company linked to a
00:06statutory body over the Tabonghaji RCI probe. The two men aged 68 and 60 are suspected of
00:14abusing their positions in the RM370 million purchase of shares in the two plantation companies.
00:20They were arrested after giving their statements at MACC headquarters in Puchajaya at about 6.30
00:26p.m. yesterday. MACC Chief Commissioner Abdul Halim Aman confirmed the arrests with the case being
00:33investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act. Both were released later that night due to health
00:39reasons and are scheduled to return today to continue assisting investigators. The arrests come
00:46a day after MACC detained a design firm director over alleged RM300,000 home renovations given as
00:53kickbacks to a former statutory body's COO. MACC also arrested a former plantation manager over an
01:00alleged RM8 million contract misappropriation, with a source saying both cases are believed to be
01:06linked to the Tabonghaji RCI findings.
