00:03who are about 20 to one to win it all.
00:06You guys know I'm not high on the Texans by any means.
00:09Their win total is set at nine and a half.
00:13I wouldn't recommend betting the under,
00:16but CJ Stroud is a player that I'm just not really comfortable backing.
00:22They have an unbelievable defense.
00:24They added a piece to their defense.
00:25We'll get to it during the pro football story of the day in a second.
00:29The schedule sets up pretty well for them,
00:33although the first two games are brutal, but they're at home.
00:37Buffalo and Cincinnati, both winnable,
00:40but they can lose both those games as well.
00:43First road game is to Indianapolis.
00:45You play Dallas in week number four.
00:48You don't go on the road to a team that you should win against
00:52until week number five against Tennessee,
00:54and then you're going overseas to play Jacksonville
00:57in a game that I cannot believe is being sent to London.
01:00I hate that game being sent to London, but it is.
01:02Then you have the Giants at home, should be a W, and then the bye week.
01:07A realistic schedule, a realistic record with that schedule
01:10for the Texans, in my mind, would be four wins.
01:15I mean, four and three is not awful.
01:17Five and two is great.
01:18If you're five and two heading to the bye week, awesome.
01:21But if you get off to an 0-2 start, which is possible,
01:26and then you're at Indianapolis, which is not going to be an easy place to play.
01:30You're home for Dallas, a game you can definitely lose.
01:33You're at Tennessee, which is a divisional game on the road,
01:36and you're going to London to play the Jaguars.
01:39You know, you're coming back.
01:41You know, maybe you have two wins at the bye week,
01:43and you're two and five heading to the bye week.
01:46So, I mean, the path there is not easy for the Houston Texans,
01:51and that's why they're 20-1.
01:53The division is much better,
01:55and you're going to get into your divisional games a ton
01:58as you hit the second half of the year.
02:01You open up the second half of your schedule at the Chargers and at the Browns.
02:07Now, the Browns should be a W,
02:08but you play the Colts at home and the Ravens at home.
02:11Then you play Pittsburgh and Washington on the road.
02:14After the bye week, four of their first six games are on the road,
02:18and six of their first nine games after the bye are on the road.
02:23That's a very difficult schedule for a warm-weather team
02:27to have to go to Philadelphia, to Pittsburgh, to Washington,
02:30and to Green Bay in December and January.
02:34That is not good for the Texans.
02:36Home for the Titans at the end of the season,
02:38but that's what would really worry me big time.
02:44If I am looking at this as an overbet on the Texans,
02:49I don't like the second half of that schedule.
02:51That worries me a lot, and maybe you think that C.J. Stroud is your guy.
02:56I'm just not one of them.
02:57I told you I bet the under on his passing yardage,
03:0136-50 for his passing yardage.
03:03I just don't think without Tank Dell being healthy,
03:05maybe never be the player he once was after the broken leg,
03:09and I know Nicky Collins is tremendous.
03:11I'm just not a fan.
03:13They're going to run the ball with David Montgomery.
03:14I get it.
03:15That's why they traded for him, but that defense is awesome,
03:19but the offense still has to score,
03:22and the defense can't be expected to score every week,
03:26and it feels like that's how the Texans play,
03:28that the defense is going to be needed to either set up easy touchdowns,
03:32turn the football over, create advantageous situations for C.J. Stroud.
03:37Any type of adversity for C.J. Stroud in the postseason,
03:41things went really, really poorly for him.
03:44I don't know.
03:45Eight and nine.
03:46Nine wins might be the ceiling for the Texans with that schedule
03:50and who's playing quarterback, and if that happens,
03:52I think C.J. Stroud is probably not the guy for this team.
03:56He is the big show-me year for a lot of people,
03:58including me, about where the Texans are.
