00:00I want to start, though, talking about the trade that got made yesterday.
00:04Luis Garcia gets sent to the Yankees.
00:08Four pitchers, two that are going to be available right away.
00:11One's close, one's a little further down.
00:14You trade away Luis Garcia, who has 23 homers on the year,
00:20really popped this year.
00:22And he's a prospect that people have been waiting on and waiting on,
00:25and people kind of thought maybe it's never coming.
00:27But this year, 23 home runs, his previous career high was 18 in 140 games.
00:32He's got 23 this year in 104 games, a plus 2.3 war.
00:36Garcia's been a really fun story, and the Nats made the right decision.
00:41Especially, they've lost five in a row and six out of seven.
00:44Getting just dusted by the Braves this weekend,
00:47and I've watched most of it either in the car listening or watching at home.
00:53I was in the car actually driving home from getting rained off the golf course yesterday,
00:57and it was Charlie and Dave.
01:00And just the sloppy baseball you play against a really good team like Atlanta,
01:06you're going to get dusted.
01:07And I appreciate Charlie and Dave called them out on the broadcast.
01:10And it was just like, you've got to make these moves.

01:40So this is – they believe they're going to be able to replace Garcia's bat.

03:01He was 11th round pick last year, but he's just been a really impressive guy out of the bullpen,

03:23and then Jake Byrd is the other guy.
03:26Like, he's a 30-year-old.
03:27Jake Byrd's just a dude that helps you out of the bullpen.
03:29He's a dude with the 60.
03:30Could Cruz be like a real closer?

03:37He throws 100 miles per hour effortlessly.

03:48I think he's going to be someone who will easily get some saves down the stretch.

03:55They have bats, they have pitching, and they say, you know what?

04:24So, looking at 27, I don't know what happens with Griffin.

04:31But, like, that rotation could be Cavalli, early, Seabert, other young guys available.

05:53then he could either decide to sign that deal, which I don't think he will,
05:57or if he declines it and walks and leaves for somewhere else, then the Nationals get a comp pick.
06:02And this group is a very player development-heavy group, so I think it's definitely in play.
06:08They may say, well, the return that we get at this year's deadline isn't going to equal the value that
06:13we think with a comp pick in this year's draft.
06:16Yeah, so that's definitely in play here, but in my mind, make the trade, man.
