00:00Let's go to some of the teams that are not hot.
00:02I saw one of them in person this week.
00:04Absolutely stunning series.
00:06I do want to throw some caveats out here.
00:08I do want to do that because my Marlins have just been so hot and cold and hot this season
00:15that, I mean, it's kind of hard for me to figure who they are right now.
00:19But I want to show you something here, Tom.
00:21And this is kind of funny, is that look at these three losses they lost to Miami.
00:25Now, Miami, during their 12-game losing streak, could have won several of those.
00:29But, Tom, the Phillies could have won all three of these games against Miami.
00:33They could have.
00:34I was there.
00:34I watched all three games.
00:35They had a lead Monday.
00:36They had bad luck Tuesday with Miami making great plays.
00:39And they were leading 6-0 on Wednesday and lost.
00:43Now, I didn't see the Brewers game.
00:44I'm sorry, the Baltimore game on Friday.
00:46And then they came back and they shut out Baltimore.
00:48There's a lot of panic in Philadelphia.
00:51I do think that they need to tinker a little bit with the roster.
00:55I still think, Tom, they're a really good team.
00:58I do.
00:58I think that what's lost is this is not the same Phillies roster of four years ago or three years
01:06ago with Reese Hoskins and Nick Castellanos and some other players.
01:09That's gone.
01:10They don't have those guys anymore.
01:11So the back end of where they are, 6, 7, 8, 9, 8, ain't great.
01:16Their pitching is great, Tom.
01:17A bullpen piece, a back end piece for that lineup.
01:21I know that there's panic.
01:23You can't tell anything to those fans in Philadelphia.
01:25I think they're going to be in the postseason.
01:27Do I think they're going to win the division?
01:28Probably not.
01:30But Dave Dombrowski, this time of the year, too, Tom, as good as it gets.
01:34So I am going to hold my full reservation on Philadelphia and the Harper comments and everything else until the
01:41end of the season.
01:43Right.
01:43And I believe in that Friday game against the Orioles, they also had a 3 or 4-0 lead or
01:474-1 lead, whatever it was at a certain point.
01:50So, you know, they could have had half those games.
01:52And then we'd be looking at them and saying, oh, they have three or four wins in their last five.
01:55And then we wouldn't be in this spot for the Phillies.
01:57But to your point, I think they are in the market for an outfielder.
02:02And, you know, looking at, you said, to the back end, Stock, Rikonis, Crawford, and Stubbs, not the best, you
02:07know, 6, 7, 8, 9, especially with the two outfielders.
02:09I think between them and the Astros, they're going to be the ones bidding for an outfielder.
02:13Who can they get to add to that lineup?
02:15Because, you know, losing a Dulles Garcia is, again, is a big strikeout hitter.
02:20But he also has some power.
02:21And that really, I would say, insulates, you know, Schwarber and Harper and the top line of that much more.
02:26So between the Astros, the Phillies, and maybe one other team looking for a premium outfielder to hit it at
02:32the deadline, that's what they all need to be looking to do.
02:34And I would say that the pitching in the bullpen is what they also need to address, to your point.
02:40We know that Andrew Painter didn't work out in the starting rotation.
02:42That really doesn't matter.
02:43When you have Chris Sanchez, you have Zach Wheeler, and you have Jesus Lizardo, that's a great 1-2-3.
02:48The bullpen would be the secondary thing after the lineup for me.
02:51Yeah, the bullpen had been good, but it's starting to fail a little bit.
02:55And that's been the issue with the Phillies through the years.
02:58And you made a great point with Adoles Garcia.
03:01I mean, they tried.
03:02It didn't work.
03:03They tried to get somebody.
03:05But it's just like Boston getting mead.
03:07You know, sometimes you've got to double down when you have an injury or you're not going to make it.
