00:00So we've been speculating as to when these veteran free agent wideouts
00:05would start landing in new spots.
00:07Debo Samuel is the first.
00:10He gets a one-year, up to $7.5 million deal.
00:13With his former employer, he lands back in San Francisco with the Niners.
00:18They're dealing with a bunch of injuries on their offense.
00:21Ricky Pierce saw a promising young wideout.
00:24He has a knee issue.
00:25Looks like it could sideline him for the entire 2026 season.
00:30So they bring Debo back.
00:31That means the two biggest names still out there are, of course,
00:35Stephon Diggs and Keenan Allen.
00:37There's been a lot of buzz and speculation that Diggs could wind up either here
00:42with the Commanders.
00:42Maybe he's a fit with the Baltimore Ravens.
00:45That's what Mike was saying.
00:46They seem to like to grab guys late in their careers
00:50and give them second or third chances.
00:53He's from here.
00:54That makes a lot of sense from the land of either of these two teams.
00:56I just don't understand why they're waiting.
00:57I mean, I know everyone says, well,
00:58that's because they're probably asking for too much.
01:01But I don't know.
01:02Don't you want to get the guy in camp?
01:03Can't you figure that out pretty quickly?
01:05Seem like they figured it out fairly quickly with Debo.
01:07Maybe it'll be like in a draft.
01:08Like here's the run on receivers that are out there.
01:11Maybe it'll finally get done.
01:13I know that Nicky put out a tweet yesterday, Nicky Jabbala,
01:18where it got a lot of traction.
01:20My assessment of the first two days of Commanders Camp from Nicky,
01:23it's a meme or video, whatever you want to call it,
01:27gif of Diggs saying, I'm him.
01:32In other words, they need some help there, in her opinion.
01:36Interesting.
01:37Now, do they need help or is it just the fact that the defense is going to
01:41just have an inherent advantage heading into the first couple days of camp
01:44and it's just going to take more time for Jaden and the receivers to get in sync
01:49with the new offense?
01:50I mean, I think most people think just based on, again,
01:53I think that guys will step up.
01:55When given an opportunity, it often happens.
01:57But, you know, I don't know if you have the sharp clips from yesterday
02:01with J.P. Finley, but he talked about at one point,
02:04I remember he ranked the receivers, and I don't know if he was saying
02:07at the end of last year or going into this camp or whatever,
02:09I think he had them something like 31.
02:11Right now, we have the Commanders.
02:12I know your fans are going to like to hear this,
02:14but we have them ranked as the number 31 best wide receiver room around the NFL.
02:20And if they can somehow get Steph Diggs, they absolutely need to.
02:23I posted this earlier today on Twitter.
02:25I just think this is a great example of a team that went out
02:30and supported its quarterback on a rookie contract.
02:34Drake May was drafted in 2024.
02:37His OC at the time was Alex Van Pelt.
02:39They had the fifth cheapest wide receiver and tight end core,
02:43did the Patriots, and their starting three wide receivers that year
02:47were K.J. Osborne, Pop Douglas, and Type 1 Thornton.
02:51Just two years later this season,
02:53they now have a new offense coordinator in Josh McDaniels,
02:56who's far better than Alex Van Pelt.
02:58They have the number nine most expensive receiving core between wide receivers
03:03and tight ends.
03:04And their three starting receivers this year are A.J. Brown,
03:07Romeo Dobbs, and K. Shambuti.
03:09That is the, when a team and a GM says,
03:13we believe in our young quarterback and we're going to try to surround him with talent
03:17while he is at his cheapest he will ever be.
03:20Jaden Daniels is in the same situation,
03:22but he's just not getting that influx of talent at the receiving position
03:27to make his life easier.
03:30Makes sense.
03:31I mean, last year you kind of thought it was going to happen
03:33because they brought in Debo,
03:35but McLaurin was shot and didn't have a great year.
03:39So if McLaurin and Debo are both on the field,
03:43both healthy numbers would have been Jaden,
03:45obviously numbers would have been good,
03:47but he brings up a good point.
03:49I mean, I know they drafted Williams,
03:50but he's a draft pick.
03:51You don't know how good he's going to be.
03:53I mean, the Patriots,
03:54they traded draft capital for A.J. Brown,
03:56and they spent a lot of money in free agency on Romeo Dobbs.
04:00We know the commanders were in on Dobbs too,
04:02but the Patriots beat them out for his services.
04:06I just don't understand why they're waiting.
04:08I personally, it's just my head is exploding.
04:11Or maybe tomorrow's the day.
04:13Why are you waiting?
04:15I mean...
04:16Hold on, so they should have been in on A.J. Brown?
04:19No, maybe.
04:20I mean, it's not like Adam Peters isn't drafting wide receivers.
04:24No, I know, and I am very high on Antonio Williams, actually.
04:27Very high on Williams.
04:29Probably too high.
04:30I haven't gone as much, you know, I'm not really...
04:33He's just an unknown right now.
04:34I know he's an unknown.
04:35But I'm not willing to say he's going to have 50-plus catches or whatever.
04:38I mean, they're drafting receivers,
04:39but they're drafting him in the third and fourth round.
04:41Yeah, but I do think Williams is the real deal.
04:42We'll see.
04:43You could mock me.
04:44He could just be another, like, McCaffrey.
04:46Oh, he could be.
04:46But if you brought in Diggs,
04:48then the room gets considerably better.
04:50Yeah.
04:51Yeah.
04:51I just don't want it to take away opportunity from Williams,
04:54but I guess that's...
04:55And you can even go back...
04:56You've got to win.
04:56You can even go back a couple years in the draft
04:58when they took Connerly.
05:00They could have taken Luther Burden at that point.
05:02Yeah.
05:03And there's a lot of buzz around Luther Burden
05:06incoming this year.
05:08Like, having a much bigger role in that Chicago offense.
05:10Like, if Connerly struggles
05:13and Luther Burden becomes, like, a fringe Pro Bowl receiver,
05:17you're going to look at that and be like,
05:18well, could have had him here.
05:21Yeah.
05:21He could have been Terry McLaurin's number two.
05:25Yeah.
05:25Like, already established.
05:28So, I don't know.
05:29It's, you know, it's revisionist history at this point,
05:32going back and dissecting draft picks like that.
05:34But Adam Peters has chosen, for the most part,
05:38to go relatively cheap at wideout.
05:40Well, we'll see.
05:41I mean, they've got the money to spend.
05:44I mean, it's Warren Sharpe's opinion
05:46or whatever, you know, numbers he puts together.
05:48Well, you're not going to be able to argue
05:50that this group, as unproven as it is,
05:52is much higher.
05:53Correct.
05:54Correct.
05:54You're not going to make it.
05:55So, Diggs just makes sense.
05:57Yeah.
05:57And I think he said later,
05:59as he said in that clip,
06:00that, you know, it gets him maybe
06:02the middle of the pack, you know.
06:04You'll take that.
06:05Which is a big upgrade.
06:05So, should the commanders be
06:07Stephon, Diggs, or Bust at this point?
06:10800-636-1067.
06:12Here's the other part I want you to play.
06:14I think Valdez found it, too,
06:16where he reiterates,
06:17and I know it was my gut,
06:19but as soon as this schedule came out,
06:20literally, I had this pit in my stomach.
06:22I wanted to puke.
06:23When I saw how difficult
06:25I thought this schedule was,
06:27here's his take on it.
06:28The commanders right now
06:29rank as the fourth toughest schedule
06:33in the NFL.
06:35That's going to be a problem for them.
06:37And in fact,
06:38over the first 11 weeks,
06:40I have you guys pegged as
06:42the number two most difficult schedule
06:45in the NFL.
06:45And if you look across the board,
06:47the weakest team that you're going to play
06:50through week 11
06:51is the New York Giants,
06:52who are predicted to win
06:53about seven and a half games,
06:55but they're being bet towards the over.
06:57The markets are excited
06:59that Malik Navers looks a little bit healthier
07:01than he was expected to look.
07:02We'll see if that ends up panning out.
07:04But you've got,
07:05obviously,
07:06difficult games against
07:08playoff teams in 2026.
07:10These teams should make the playoffs,
07:11including the Eagles,
07:13the Seahawks,
07:14the 49ers,
07:15the Eagles,
07:16again,
07:16the Rams,
07:16and the Bengals,
07:17all within the first 11 weeks
07:19of the season.
07:19So it results in the number two
07:21most difficult schedule
07:22through that stretch.
07:24And I have you guys,
07:26one of the reasons
07:27that I also look at the change
07:29in the movement
07:30is I want to know,
07:31is your schedule getting harder
07:33or easier?
07:34And your schedule
07:35has gotten the second most difficult.
07:37It's seen the second largest
07:39increase in difficulty
07:40since June 1st.
07:42And that's because
07:43you are playing
07:44the Cowboys twice
07:45and the Bengals.
07:47Both teams
07:48have been bet towards the over
07:49at the number one
07:50and number two highest rate
07:52in the NFL.
07:53The Bengals have been bet
07:54towards the over a lot
07:55since June,
07:56as have the Cowboys.
07:57In addition,
07:58you've got the Rams,
07:59Texans,
08:00Giants twice.
08:01Those three teams
08:03all rank top seven
08:04in terms of teams
08:05that have bet
08:06towards the over.
08:07The expectations
08:08are even stronger
08:09for those teams.
08:10And so,
08:10you're just playing
08:11a bunch of these teams
08:13that have ranked
08:14in the top seven
08:15in terms of
08:16the betting markets.
08:17And this is not just
08:18like some sort of
08:18an odds maker
08:19sitting off in the corner
08:20changing the numbers
08:21because it's his
08:22personal opinion.
08:23This is like
08:24hundreds and thousands
08:25of bettors,
08:27many of them sharp
08:28who are moving the markets,
08:29are betting
08:30on these other teams
08:31who you have to play.
08:33Not only are the
08:34first 11 weeks
08:35really difficult,
08:36then after that,
08:38it's a short week
08:39where they have to go
08:40face the Cardinals
08:41in Arizona.
08:43That's a relatively
08:44long trip.
08:45And then they're
08:45at the Titans
08:46the following week.
08:47Now,
08:47those are going to be
08:49two of the lower teams
08:50in the league.
08:50We don't win those games.
08:51We ain't doing anything.
08:52But those are
08:53back-to-back road games
08:54coming off that gauntlet
08:56of the first 11 games.
08:57Yeah.
08:58So,
08:58it looks like
09:00kind of an easy spot
09:01in the schedule,
09:02but is it really
09:03that easy
09:04playing back-to-back
09:05road games?
09:06It's not.
09:07I don't feel like
09:07we have a competition
09:08No,
09:08not on the road,
09:08especially on a short week,
09:09but just based
09:11on the expectations
09:13of those two teams.
09:14I don't feel like
09:14Arizona's some great
09:15home field advantage
09:16for them other than
09:17the time thing.
09:18I'm just talking about
09:18the travel
09:20for the crowd
09:20is more than the opponent.
09:22Yeah.
09:22Especially,
09:23I mean,
09:23they could be beat up
09:24by week 11.
09:25We don't know
09:25what the roster's
09:26going to look like
09:26after 11 weeks
09:27of playing tough competition.
09:29We just don't know.
09:30All right,
09:31let's go to the phones.
09:31800-636-1067.
09:34Should they
09:34just make the move now?
09:35This might be the time.
09:36If you're going to do it,
09:37it might be now or never,
09:38right?
09:38Like,
09:39you're in a draft,
09:40all of a sudden
09:40they start drafting
09:41the quarterbacks.
09:42The Niners felt like
09:43they needed to make a move.
09:44Boom,
09:44they signed Debo.
09:45He's on the roster.
09:47This could be the run
09:47on the veteran
09:48free agent receivers,
09:50the elite ones
09:51that are still out there.
09:52Are they going to stand by
09:54and just let Diggs
09:56make a deal
09:56with the Ravens?
09:57Or are they going to
09:57go in there
09:58and just grab them,
09:59be done with this?
10:00Let's go to Shane.
10:01In Fairfax,
10:02are they happy
10:03being,
10:04in some of these guys' minds,
10:06the 31st ranked
10:07wide receiver room?
10:09Shane,
10:09what's up?
10:10Good morning to you.
10:11Hey, buddy.
10:11Good morning,
10:11John.
10:12How y'all doing this morning?
10:13Happy Friday to y'all.
10:14Yeah, you too.
10:14I think they're happy.
10:15I think right now
10:16they're happy
10:17because they got a chick.
10:18And I think that
10:19they're going to use him.
10:20And I think that's what that's...
10:22I think he's going to be
10:23our number two.
10:24I hate to say that.
10:25I think they should go ahead
10:26and put the trigger on Diggs.
10:28You ain't got nothing to lose.
10:29What do you got to lose,
10:30right?
10:30Right.
10:31You're going to sign him
10:31to probably a minimum deal.
10:33And he's going to be better
10:34than anybody you've got
10:35in your room right now.
10:37He's produced it.
10:38What?
10:38You got Lane?
10:39Come on,
10:40let's go.
10:40And plus,
10:41look at that schedule.
10:42I've got them going
10:43one and eight.
10:45Wow, I mean,
10:46if that happens,
10:46everyone's getting fired.
10:47Who are they going to beat?
10:48I mean, that could happen.
10:49If that happens,
10:49everyone's getting fired.
10:50Dan Quinn will be gone.
10:52Dan Quinn will be gone
10:53mid-season one.
10:54Look at that schedule.
10:55It's too brutal.
10:56Who are they going to beat?
10:57Who are they going to beat?
10:58I don't know.
10:58They're going to have to steal
10:59a couple early.
11:01Giants.
11:01And the Giants
11:02give us a fit
11:02every time we play them.
11:03Hell, if you look about it,
11:05the Giants should have
11:05beat us every time.
11:06An offside,
11:07a missed field goal.
11:08So, like,
11:10look,
11:11Dan Quinn's in trouble.
11:12And we've got two
11:14new coordinators.
11:15It doesn't really fare well
11:17if you've got two new
11:17coordinators as a head coach
11:18coming in.
11:19And one that's never called
11:20an offensive play.
11:22Come on, man.
11:23Let's go.
11:23That schedule's brutal.
11:24It is brutal.
11:25Appreciate it.
11:26I do.
11:26Don't fall, baby.
11:27Well, I mean,
11:28if they're one and eight,
11:29Dan Quinn's getting fired
11:30mid-season.
11:31Oh, yeah.
11:31That's what he said.
11:32Yeah.
11:32I mean, that's,
11:33but they're not going to be
11:33one and eight.
11:34No, but
11:36I'm not saying nothing.
11:37I have no idea.
11:38The schedule scares
11:38the poop out of me.
11:39I do think maybe
11:41we could shock people
11:41in week one.
11:42Maybe Jalen will be
11:43a little off.
11:44He has, you know,
11:44he has a tendency
11:45to be up or down.
11:47Maybe, you know,
11:48they don't have AJ.
11:49I don't know.
11:49Maybe we can steal one.
11:50They've had a lot of
11:51turnover at wide receiver.
11:52They have a new OC, too.
11:54Yeah, Sean Mannion steps in.
11:56Maybe we could steal one there,
11:58get a little momentum,
11:58and then who knows
12:00after that.
12:01We've got to get
12:01one of the first three.
12:03I mean, you go 0-3
12:04to start the year,
12:05that's going to be
12:06difficult to bounce back.
12:07That's going to be tough.
12:07And the first three,
12:08we're going to be
12:09decided dogs in all of them.
12:10So we're going to have to
12:12steal minimum one of them.
12:14Let's go to Larry,
12:15South Carolina.
12:16800-636-1067.
12:18Don't want to be doom and gloom,
12:19but we should be realistic.
12:21Larry!
12:22The Commanders are catching
12:23four and a half
12:23in week one
12:24against the Eagles.
12:25That's the current line.
12:27Larry, what's up, man?
12:29Hey, guys.
12:30How you doing?
12:30We're waiting for Jason
12:31to come down to this area.
12:33He'll be about 40 minutes
12:35north of me in Southport.
12:37So we're waiting for you, Jason.
12:38All right, man.
12:39I love it down there.
12:40It's great.
12:40So where is he?
12:41Where are you, Larry?
12:42What part?
12:44My town is Little River,
12:45South Carolina.
12:46I'm right over the border.
12:47So right up 17 is Southport.
12:50Southport's a gorgeous area.
12:51Jason, I know you're
12:52going to love it.
12:53You've already seen it.
12:54Oh, yeah.
12:54But it's a great spot.
12:56Great part of the world,
12:57my friend.
12:58It is, Jason.
12:59You're going to love it.
13:00And I moved down
13:02about two years ago
13:03and it's been awesome.
13:04So I know you're
13:05looking forward to it.
13:06And I'm about seven years
13:08older than you guys.
13:09So it's a great spot.
13:10All right.
13:10What's the deal with Diggs,
13:12your opinion?
13:13I think they ought to.
13:15They should have drafted
13:17him 11 years ago.
13:18The Redskins drafted
13:20Jameson Crowder instead.
13:22And I think we've been
13:24running that.
13:24He wasn't Diggs,
13:25but he was decent.
13:26But yeah, you're right.
13:26He wasn't Diggs.
13:27He was decent.
13:28He wasn't Diggs, though.
13:29I mean, they drafted him
13:29and they drafted Crowder
13:31in the fourth round
13:31and then Diggs went
13:32the fifth round
13:33in Minnesota.
13:34And he blew up
13:34in Minnesota.
13:35He had a great run there.
13:36So I mean,
13:37I think that was
13:37a big mistake.
13:38No, I mean,
13:38we're the 31st ranked
13:40wide receiver room.
13:41I mean,
13:42did you see Nick Chivala's
13:44tweet yesterday?
13:45Yeah, we talked about it.
13:46Hey, this is,
13:47yeah, that's,
13:49to me,
13:50that's very important
13:51that they get him in
13:53because they need to,
13:54it's like the defense.
13:55If we just had a defense
13:56in the middle of the pack
13:58and we have wide receiver
13:59room in the middle of the pack,
14:00I think it'll be,
14:01I think we'll be a lot better.
14:03We're not going to go
14:03one and eight.
14:04I can tell you that.
14:06I don't think we'll go
14:08one and eight.
14:08I do think we market,
14:10we're going to be markedly
14:11better on defense.
14:12And as long as Jaden's there,
14:13he gives you a shot,
14:14you can steal any game.
14:16But we're going to be
14:17underdogs in most of these.
14:19We are going to be
14:20underdogs in most of these.
14:21One and eight
14:22or two and seven
14:23would be a big giant fireball.
14:25Do you think Adam Peters
14:26isn't signing digs?
14:28And he may,
14:28I just don't know,
14:29but it hasn't done it yet
14:30because,
14:33because Josh Harris
14:34doesn't want to spend the money
14:35or because he doesn't feel
14:35like it's a fit,
14:36doesn't need them.
14:37I mean,
14:37what do you think it is?
14:38I'm hoping it's not
14:40financially motivated.
14:41I mean,
14:41Josh Harris doesn't hire.
14:43They're fine cap-wise.
14:44Their cap situation right now
14:45is really good.
14:46I don't think it's money.
14:46And look at the money
14:47he's spent on the Sixers.
14:49No,
14:49I don't think it's money.
14:50I think it's the,
14:50you know,
14:51the calculus he talked about it,
14:53you know,
14:53the chemistry vibe,
14:56the,
14:56they,
14:56they,
14:57they get,
14:57they like the room.
14:58They do.
14:59They kind of do see
14:59kind of roles
15:00for all these guys.
15:02Sometimes you could get
15:03in sort of enamored
15:04with your own guys
15:05and their own potential,
15:06right?
15:07Yeah.
15:07Um,
15:09I don't know.
15:09Maybe they feel like
15:10Traylon Burks is a guy
15:11who can finally
15:13catch 40 balls
15:14in the number two
15:15wider seat role.
15:15Already banged up.
15:16That's,
15:17that's the huge question mark.
15:18Yeah,
15:18but okay,
15:18so let's say
15:19Burks takes himself out.
15:20Nobody could count on Burks.
15:21Let's say he's like a
15:22Cam Simms,
15:23or not even Cam Simms.
15:24He's like a Noah Brown.
15:25Okay.
15:26Right?
15:26Like talented.
15:26He's like a fancier version
15:27of Noah Brown.
15:28Yeah,
15:28talented in the first round.
15:30But gets hurt all the time.
15:31But,
15:32I mean,
15:33De'Ami is making plays.
15:34They keep reporting
15:35he's making plays
15:35every day in camp.
15:36Right.
15:36The reports are
15:37they're loving what
15:38they're seeing so far
15:39from Antonio.
15:40They're loving what
15:41they're seeing with Chig.
15:43Terry's over there
15:43mentoring all the guys.
15:45Maybe they feel like Luke.
15:45Maybe they're just getting
15:46a little enamored
15:47with their own guys.
15:47They might also feel like
15:48Luke McCaffrey's ready
15:49to take the next step too.
15:51Luke was playing pretty well
15:52before he got hurt.
15:53He was emerging
15:54and then he had
15:55the shoulder injury.
15:56I think he suffered that
15:57in the Chargers game.
15:58I just don't know
15:58what bring it in digs
15:59and how it hurts you.
16:00The only way,
16:01it doesn't really hurt you.
16:02It doesn't hurt you.
16:02It only helps you.
16:04Unless you think
16:05it's a chemistry thing,
16:06which I think
16:07most people think
16:07he's great.
16:09I remember there was
16:10a thing there
16:11with Josh Allen, right?
16:13I'm guessing he's probably
16:15good for two or three years
16:17and then he wears that
16:18as welcome.
16:19It's kind of his MO.
16:21Maybe it's the personality.
16:22Maybe they just don't want
16:22to bring him in the locker room.
16:23I don't know.
16:24But from a talent standpoint,
16:26it makes sense to me.
16:27I think it might happen.
16:27I think it might happen soon.
16:29800-636-1067
16:30is the number.
16:31Are you Stefan Diggs
16:33or bust
16:34through two days
16:35of training camp
16:36at this point?
16:37800-636-1067
16:39is the number.
16:40We're the junks.
