00:43because McCorn is a really, really good receiver.
00:47He just never had anybody that they paired him with that had any clout.

00:54Now he does.
00:55I think the fan base sees that and they acknowledge it,
00:58and that's why we're really excited.

01:02I mean, the fit is so good.
01:05The running mate for Terry McLaurin, I mean, we lamented for so many years.
01:08There's a number of receivers that have had this phenomenon, GP.
01:11But we go, God, have you ever had a quarterback?
01:13Have you ever had anybody semi-competent going into football?
01:16Who knows what he could have done?
01:17Well, now kind of the secondary complaint post-Jaden Daniels is,
01:21man, if there was ever anybody, anybody that could draw any kind of meaningful attention away from him,
01:25what could happen?
01:26Well, enter a really good player that can command some attention.
01:29So, yeah, I think, again, it's that fit part of things and the need part of things,
01:34in addition to the local celebrity stuff that's got people so excited.
01:37I'm thinking about this right now for the first time,
01:40but where would a tandem of McLaurin and Diggs rank among the best one-two punch wide receiver groups in
01:49the league?
01:49I mean, it's not at the very top, but it's certainly top ten, and that might be the answer to
01:54this.
01:54It is Daniels specific.
01:56It is that they have given the quarterback the weaponry.
02:00There is no excuse, so to speak.
02:01The line should be pretty good.
02:03The running game, I think, will be okay in terms of running back talent,
02:06but hopefully the scheme elevates that.
02:08But you've now got McLaurin and Diggs and a top 75 pick and a pass-catching tight end.
02:13Like, there's not a lot you can want for from a weaponry standpoint.
02:17Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins, I still think, are right at the top in terms of best tandems.
02:22CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens within the division might be number one.
02:25Puka Nakua, Devontae Adams last year with the Rams near the top.
02:29I think the combination of Jefferson and Addison is good, but probably a tier down.
02:34Amon Ross St. Brown's unbelievable.
02:36Jamison Williams is off and on.
02:37But that's a super talented duo.
02:40Well, that's a great combo because one is short range and the other is a deep threat.

02:44Like, other guys, hey, you've got two good receivers.
02:46They've got very distinct roles there in Detroit.
02:49Yeah, there's a little bit of a McLaurin-Diggs element to that, honestly.

02:54I mean, Waddell and Sutton in Denver, again, that's probably tier three.

03:01And then the list I'm looking at has Jackson Smith and Jigba, Rashid Shahid.

03:07Jackson Smith and Jigba's awesome.
03:08Shahid's a great deep threat.
03:09JSN and a statue is a top ten.
03:12If Shahid is going to be a really nice deep threat, maybe you could add him to that list.
03:16But I actually think McLaurin and Diggs could be right there at number eight or in the vicinity.
03:22But Daniels now has a top ten duo together to throw to.
03:27And maybe that's where all of the optimism and just the positivity around this is coming from.

03:40I think there's two reasons you see the excitement you see.
03:43One, I feel like we come from an area where we're not just kind of like what I like to
03:47call fanned out.
03:48We come from an area where people really know football.
03:50So I'm pushing 30 now.
03:52And I say this as a Commanders fan.
03:54I feel like the last time we had a receiving duo like this was Deshaun Jackson and Pierre Gosson.
04:00And before that, we're talking about whoever else we put with Santana Moss,
04:04whether it was Chris Cooley or Antoine Randall or whoever else.
04:07So it's going to be some natural excitement.
04:09And I think we do realize, like you say, the Jaden effect.
04:13We know we got a great quarterback.
04:15So now just giving them more weapons, you know, we kind of can see, like, what this can turn into.
04:20We see it happen with other teams, but now it's happening right here at home.
04:23So now the excitement is going to brew.
04:25Just looking forward to seeing them get out on the field.
04:27I was actually out there training camp last Saturday.
04:29That was before we got digged.
04:30So now it's even more excitement out there, I can imagine.

04:40Before that, you know, there were a couple decent years with Santana Moss.
04:44And as you kind of pointed out, a secondary running mate.

04:50But that's kind of the point here is that you now have – you're not doing a –
04:54what we were doing 48 hours ago is, God, who's going to be the number two?
04:57You know, we're talking ourselves into – Luke McCaffrey had a good practice with all due respect to him.
05:03Or Traylon Burks seems like a good guy.
05:05Now it's everybody's filling in at way different roles.
05:09And we're talking about who's going to be the seventh receiver instead of the second.
05:11It's a place I'd much rather be when you talk about it with the Nats and starting pitching.
05:16And, you know, who's their number four?
05:17Now it's, all right, so if we open with this guy and you can steal three innings with this other
05:21guy,
05:21you know, can they cobble together a decent enough start to maybe not give up 12 runs?
05:26This is just a different narrative now and a change like that.
05:29Well, here's the other thing I would add to that.
05:31We're talking a lot about one-two punches at receiver, the tandem where they rank compared to previous years.
05:36And I think it's a great call.
05:37I mean, I covered that Deshaun Jackson, Pierre Garçon room, and that was a team, if you remember,
05:43that put up 4,900 passing yards.
05:45Kirk Cousins that year under Jay Gruden.
05:47Now, a big part of that was the tight end.
05:49And I would add Chigakanko to this conversation.
05:51The Cowboys, the Bengals, you know, the teams with the best one-two punches, the Rams,
05:57do they have a better tight end than Okonkwo in the passing game?
06:00I mean, maybe Dallas does, but I don't think the Bengals do.
06:04I know the Rams don't.
06:05The Lions have Laporta, who's outstanding.
06:07So if you want to put St. Brown and Williams and Laporta as a kind of a three-headed situation,
06:12that would be better than Washington's, but not by a ton.
06:16I think that we shouldn't forget just being out here every day and seeing how they use Okonkwo.
06:21They have massive plans.
06:23Now, we'll see if they're right.
06:23But I think they think they have one of the real weapons at the tight end position in the league
06:29in terms of being able to split them out and have them run routes.
06:31So it goes beyond just the two wide receivers, I think,
06:35in terms of what they think they're surrounding their quarterback, Jaden Daniels, with.

10:12Like, playing with a better QB, in theory, is important, but that does not mean you put up better numbers,

10:19So, do they play him more than 55%?
10:21I think they probably do, but how much more?
10:24What role are they going to carve out?
10:26Is it just inside, or is it outside as well?
