00:00I do want to jump on we've got our friend Peter Rosenberg joining us now Peter what's up man how
00:04you doing bud guys I'm considering today the beginning of our our slow ramp up to a proper
00:13relationship again when this football season gets underway I love it I am curious I know you are not
00:19a draft guy you are notably not an NFL draft guy how much training camp content are you consuming
00:27um you know I'm forced to get the I'm forced to get the Giants and Jets training camp stuff which
00:34as you can imagine oh a thrill a minute like you dream about um there's so many just so many
00:43storylines to follow um so yeah so I get in and do that stuff and then and then the big
00:48national stuff
00:49and then the only really honestly the only thing I've really caught of the commander so far is
00:54obviously the tight ends coach uh situation yeah I mean that's honestly kind of a nothing
00:59not nothing burger it's more than that but like I I tell you what I don't even know if you're
01:05aware
01:05of this I think the fact that two presumed starters are out for practice today is a bigger deal than
01:10the tight end coach um tell me tell me what two presumed starters are well Nick Allegretti the
01:15starting center has a calf strain yesterday and it did not practice today Traylon Burks who sure
01:23would seem like he was tracking to be the opposite receiver from Terry McLaurin he's out today with
01:28some foot soreness um Allegretti Dan Quinn was quick to shut both down say no big deal um which is
01:35what
01:35NFL coaches do in training camp no matter how big of a deal it is and I think Allegretti has
01:42been a
01:42very durable player and I I'm I'm gonna give Quinn the benefit of the doubt there Burks I just it's
01:49tough
01:49because that's a guy that's missed time throughout his career his biggest problem is not physical gifts
01:54or route running it's that he can't stay healthy so the Burks one it is so early but like the
02:02Burks
02:02one just sticks with me a bit so yeah so you have you have the player with a very good
02:10history of
02:10availability who has a who has a thing an ailment that I don't love to hear which is just calf
02:16related
02:17stuff and then you have the other guy who I would generally in Burks you have a guy who I
02:21would
02:21generally think oh foot soreness could just be whatever but it's a guy who's generally not so
02:26available so yeah neither is ideal I'm sure you've become a master at reading what the vibe is after
02:33all these years like with these conversations day to day but I mean this is what makes the this is
02:38what
02:38makes preseason sort of suck and you just start dreaming of the days of playing football because
02:44all there really is to discuss is this kind of stuff every day and some of it may be worth
02:50looking
02:50into and some of it you may you literally may never remember that was ever a thing totally um
02:56with I'm curious if you saw my exchange with Peters the other night about uh evaluating social media
03:04no no please tell me please tell me what happened uh I'll just have to send you the clip um
03:09it was
03:09pretty funny I was trying to figure out so Adam Peters and Dan Quinn did a opening training camp
03:15presser Monday night okay Tuesday night maybe Monday night and um I was trying to figure out a way to
03:22ask
03:23him about IU but I knew that if I said the name IU he can just not answer because he's
03:28under contract
03:28with another team so I asked him hey man how much if at all does social media impact your evaluation
03:35of bringing players and he and Dan Quinn just laughed they're like all right that's good and
03:42what I appreciate is he gave me a real answer and he said it's pretty low on the list obviously
03:47the tape
03:47and you talk to players and coaches that's what matters most but we do look at everything um I kind
03:53of think the IU ship has completely sailed but I wonder where you are on on a fellow Terp with
03:59Steph
03:59Diggs if you want them to bring him in well I mean listen relative it's so funny Stefan Diggs is
04:07someone who I do in his you know in these latter years think of as being a little bit of
04:14an off the
04:14field problem kind of guy just like the worst stuff but there was the the substance on the boat
04:21and the four kids at like one time and there's just like a lot of noise around Steph um relative
04:29to IU he's like another Jaden Daniels I mean you know like I would absolutely go I mean listen
04:37you need to I mean I saw the clip of Steph on big talking about the other day I mean
04:41would where
04:42would he be among the best number twos in the league I think he would I think he is in
04:46that
04:46conversation Phil of could be a really great two and on a team that has really outside of McLaurin
04:55and we won't even count last year but it generally speaking outside of McLaurin we guys we we have
05:02we've never had a true identity at two and three like during the McLaurin years doesn't it feel like
05:08every year there's a different two or three so the idea of bringing in someone who you know
05:14has been reliable and can be clutch in in big situations like he's shown he's played meaningful
05:22games yeah I'm not mad at that at all and then I have to imagine the IU thing has completely
05:28failed at this point I mean that was just that was like that clinic on implosion like I've never
05:34seen before in my life I know it was just I it really makes me worry for the guy it
05:39gives Antonio
05:40Brown dude you know what's funny with the digs thing that you mentioned you have a young daughter
05:45can you imagine having four of them at once are they all daughters I don't know that I doubt it
05:52just you know by numbers game I know well listen it's an insane thing for kids at once well I
05:59mean
05:59listen the the way that people of this sort of financial situation are living with kids is
06:06obviously different than something you and I yeah could could I but I but I always think the same
06:11thing dude Cardi B is such a regular part of conversation in one area of my life and I always
06:18am like amazed at that too but at the same time you know if you're worth like 60 70 80
06:24million I guess
06:26it makes things a little bit easier from a caretaking standpoint but yeah it's an insane thing to think
06:32about like you just all of a sudden you're one day you're living and three months later you have four
06:37tiny children well even if they're just people you have to go visit somewhere right it's still like
06:41they're still your kids bro right right um let's play my favorite game when you join us where are you
06:47you in New York where are you I am currently on the beautiful streets of New York I am on
06:53Broadway and
06:5470th on the Upper West Side I'm going to lay down and get a massage because my back in in
07:01true now 47
07:02year old man fashion my my back's been humming a little bit so I'm gonna lay down on a table
07:07for
07:07an hour then I'm gonna go do ESPN New York and we'll see uh what the yo-yo football and
07:13baseball
07:13teams here are talking about and then tonight I'm going out I'm I'm curious where you fall on this
07:19I'm going out to what I consider to be a pretty underrated city in Minneapolis um to do uh Summer
07:26Slam all weekend um and I've never been in that building so like uh I'm really excited to go
07:34to the stadium and just see see the feel in there because I think it looks amazing on TV
07:38Summer Slam is at the football stadium I assume right that's right yeah it's super dope and and
07:44honestly Minneapolis in the summer is not bad I hate it up there in the winter I've done that a
07:48bunch
07:48oh the worst the only thing I can tell you is one one knock I have on Minneapolis it has
07:54to have
07:54the worst weather in the country because you would think you get up there in the summer and it's
07:58really cool and nice it's still hot and humid because all the lakes so good luck with that
08:03well thank you for that I appreciate you having me on that so much but it no it is a
08:08dope car
08:08and frankly you know what it's like when you have a tiny baby it's like I'm sad to leave I'm
08:14thrilled
08:14to get home but when the trip is like nice and short like this is you kind of do exhale
08:20for a minute
08:21just to like not have any responsibility of being your dog or tiny baby it's just like
08:27all I have to be selfish and worry about working it really makes things feel easy for a moment
08:32absolutely dude yo have a great trip we'll be watching Summer Slam this weekend
08:37appreciate you buddy talk soon all right man that's our guy Peter Rosenberg ESPN New York WWE
