00:00Hey, Spelltown, in studio with my friend Rhino.
00:02AEW is in town coming up on Wednesday and Thursday.
00:06As we record this, of course, you can get your tickets.
00:08Where can you get your tickets?
00:11AEWtix.com, T-I-X.
00:13That's right.
00:13So, Rhino, actually, this was last May, I think, a year ago,
00:17but you guys were at the Masonic.
00:18Is that right?
00:18I think June or so.
00:20Yeah, actually, May.
00:21Yeah, you're right.
00:21Man, I should have done my homework.
00:24So one of us did their homework.
00:25Right.
00:26But what's going on this week with the two big shows?
00:28You know, great national TV, TBS, HBO Max.
00:34You know, it's great AEW action.
00:37You know, just the action is just nonstop and just keeps on going.
00:41And, you know, you definitely, it's a family event where the tickets start off at $40.
00:48Tony Khan is a great guy to work for and owner, operator.
00:52That's something you need, you know, when it comes to wrestling and a wrestling promotion.
00:56So what are you going to be doing on the big show?
00:58I don't know yet.
00:59I'm just going to go there and gore someone.
01:01Oh, okay.
01:01Yeah.
01:02So you're going to be doing something.
01:03Yeah, yeah.
01:04I'm booked to wrestle.
01:05So, yeah.
01:06But you never know.
01:07I mean, that's what's great about AEW.
01:09You know, you show up there and you never know what's going to happen, but you're definitely
01:14in for one heck of a show.
01:16Yeah.
01:16Awesome.
01:17Yeah, it sounds exciting.
01:19Hey, is wrestling still as fun for you as it used to be when you first started out?
01:23It's better.
01:24Yeah?
01:24Yeah.
01:24I just, you know, I love the fans and, you know, especially when you're able to wrestle
01:29in front of your hometown and in front of or at the Masonic Temple.
01:34What a historic building.
01:36The parking's easy, easy in, easy out.
01:40Great seats.
01:41Comfortable seats, too.
01:42So I sat in one of the seats before the show last year and almost took a nap.
01:46And if Rhino can sit in one of the seats, anybody can sit in one of the seats.
01:50What's that supposed to mean?
01:52By the way, I'm glad to see you have shoes on today.
01:54I've never seen you with shoes on before.
01:56Yeah.
01:56Believe it or not, a lot of people have been saying that.
02:00Rhino usually wears the sliders everywhere he goes.
02:02Yeah.
02:03Even in the wintertime.
02:04So that's why, you know, if it gets cold, I'll throw on a pair of socks.
02:08But, you know, it just shows you that I'm ready for AEW Dynamite.
02:12On Wednesday and Collision on Thursday.
02:14Yeah, you're ready because you have shoes on.
02:16Yeah, I'm ready.
02:16I'm amped.
02:17I'm ready to go or someone.
02:18Yeah.
02:19Outside of your wrestling boots, I don't think I've ever seen you wear shoes.
02:22So.
02:22Yeah.
02:22Yeah.
02:23Well, I don't know what to say.
02:26Except get your tickets at AEWTix.com.
02:30Just keep going back to get your tickets.
02:31Hey, did you ever get a chance to walk around the Masonics?
02:34I heard that there's some crazy stuff that's gone on in that place.
02:37Like the Haunted Haunted.
02:38I did not witness a ghost.
02:39But here on your show, I will tell you, I did feel a ghostly presence when I was over
02:46in the UK wrestling and I was in this historic building and I was trying to take a nap, but
02:52I felt like a pressure come to my face.
02:54Really?
02:55And I say, in Jesus name, I command you to leave this room right now.
02:58And I felt it pull away.
03:00You said that?
03:01Yes.
03:01I said it out loud.
03:03You saw this on the Exorcist or something?
03:05No.
03:05I don't know why I would say that, but I said it and I felt that presence.
03:09And, you know, I didn't think if I opened my eyes, I would see anything.
03:13But I just felt the pressure.
03:15And like if you close your eyes and put your hand towards your face, you know, that's what I felt.
03:20And then I went down there and I talked to the person that ran the place.
03:23It was before the show.
03:24I got there real early.
03:25And anyway, so I figured I'd take a nap in the locker room.
03:28And yeah, I go, do you have ghosts here?
03:31And they said, yes.
03:32And these two.
03:33And yeah, so it was pretty interesting.
03:35So no, but I've walked through the Masonic Temple.
03:40It's just a beautiful building and it's just a comfortable feel and a comfortable vibe.
03:44So if I do see a ghost, I'll gore it.
03:48How's that?
03:51So let me get this straight.
03:53So you felt this presence and you had your eyes closed.
03:55I was trying to take a nap.
03:57You know when you're trying to take a nap, but you can't because you had an energy drink.
04:00But you know you have time to take a nap.
04:03So nobody was there.
04:04And the door, it wasn't like I heard noises or anything or chains rattling.
04:09But yeah.
04:10Wow.
04:10But I've looked up some stuff on the Masonic Temple because it's just a historic, beautiful building.
04:16And it's great to go to an event like AEW there because they have all the production.
04:22And you feel like you're not feeling like you're in an old building.
04:26It's modernized to a certain extent, but you still see that historic beauty.
04:32That's great.
04:33Take your kids there.
04:34So make signs that say, Rhino, gore, gore, gore.
04:37Gore, gore, gore.
04:38Yeah, everybody should make signs like that.
04:41What's the biggest crowd you've ever wrestled in front of?
04:43Oh, God, I don't know.
04:44But I'm trying to get on that Wembley Stadium for AEW because that's going to be a big.
04:48What is that?
04:49That's actually coming up at the end of August.
04:51So we're just coming off the – AEW is just coming off the Redemption pay-per-view that was in
04:56Montreal.
04:56And then it's kind of like the road to Wembley.
05:02So all the action is going to be hot.
05:05Yeah, that's great.
05:06So let us know who are some of the bigger names in AEW right now.
05:10Well, Will Ospreay is my favorite.
05:12So you got Moxley and then Adam Copeland, Christian Cage.
05:19So, you know, just in the women's division, it's just – I think it's probably better than some of the
05:26men.
05:27Really?
05:28Well, I mean, I'm a little biased because I have my daughter and you know what it's like to be
05:33a father to a daughter.
05:34You're always rooting for the, you know, the WNBA, you know, the women's league and all that stuff, you know,
05:43the women's wrestling.
05:44And you know what?
05:45It's hard-hitting action.
05:46And sometimes it's – you see some of the matches and you're just like, oh, my God, that was a
05:52great match.
05:53So –
05:53Yeah.
05:54But, yeah.
05:54And as we were talking about earlier, I met you 25 years ago yesterday.
05:58And, man, the roads you've traveled and the miles you've put on a vehicle.
06:01And, you know, sometimes I say it to the rock stars I interview, they don't get paid to play.
06:06They get paid to travel.
06:07Yeah.
06:08They play for free.
06:08Do you kind of feel it's that way sometimes in wrestling?
06:11Yes and no.
06:12You know, I love the travel and I just love wrestling in front of an audience.
06:17And, you know, it's just – I've been very blessed throughout the years.
06:20And just to be able to do it as long as I have and feel as good as I do.
06:24You know, I do it because I love it.
06:26I do it to, you know, to bridge that gap between child and parent.
06:32Because when they bring their kids, they can say, hey, I used to watch him wrestle in ECW.
06:38I used to watch him in TNA.
06:40I used to watch him in WWE.
06:42Now you can say I used to watch him and you're watching me in front of an AEW audience.
06:48So that's nice.
06:49And plus, I'm from here.
06:51So you might see me in the grocery store.
06:55Or on the water somewhere in a boat.
06:57No, no.
06:58Yeah.
06:58No boats?
06:59No.
06:59Well, I have boats, but I don't go out in the water.
07:02So I have older boats, wooden boats and stuff.
07:05And I have a little marina.
07:06So if you don't know, Big Daddy's Boat Yard.
07:09And they say the closer you are to the water, the less you're on it.
07:13It's very true.
07:14I've never heard that.
07:15But, see, I'm also working around the marina, you know, so planting flowers.
07:19Planting flowers.
07:20Well, we're not going to get into that.
07:21But you did take me on in the boat one time in the 2002 Stanley Cup.
07:25Yeah.
07:26Yeah.
07:26We cruised up to the river.
07:28Yeah.
07:28Yeah.
07:28So cruised up the river and watched that from the boat.
07:31Well, what we could see.
07:32Yeah.
07:33So, yeah.
07:33I still have that boat.
07:34Do you?
07:35Yeah.
07:35I don't get rid of anything except girlfriends and wives.
07:38And wives.
07:39Well, one wife.
07:41That's a joke.
07:42Yeah, of course.
07:42They get rid of me.
07:43The boats don't have a choice.
07:46Well, listen, dude.
07:47I'm glad that you came here, that you came by the radio station, a shoot and all.
07:51That's quite an improvement.
07:54Yeah.
07:54Yeah.
07:55And you know what?
07:55It's another great thing about AEW.
07:59It's geared so families can go out and enjoy it.
08:02That's one of the things Tony Khan is very, you know, he's just an owner operator and he
08:08wants a family to be able to afford it.
08:10I think tickets start off at $40.
08:12So, if you haven't gotten your tickets, get them.
08:14Yeah.
08:14And family, but also the family entertainment as well.
08:18Oh, yeah.
08:18That's just from a price point, though.
08:20Yeah.
08:20Yeah.
08:20Not only just for a price, you know.
08:22And the production level is, I mean, top of the line.
08:26So, I look at some of the stuff and I'm like, wow.
08:29You know, so.
08:30Yeah.
08:30Are those guys in town right now setting everything up?
08:32Oh, yeah.
08:33I mean, you look at it, you think they have to set up for a week.
08:36Yeah.
08:37But, yeah, they've got a great crew, you know, everything top to bottom.
08:40And just from doing it last year, I guess it probably makes things a little bit easier
08:44because I know the logistics of the whole building.
08:45Yeah.
08:46Yeah.
08:46And that building set up for something like this.
08:48So, yeah.
08:49So.
08:50Yeah.
08:50Well, Rhino, great to see you.
08:52I'm kind of disappointed you didn't bring a cake or anything on our anniversary.
08:56Well, yeah, I should have.
08:58Actually, I forgot.
08:5925 years is a big deal, dude.
09:00I know.
09:00I know.
09:01I'd say I forgot.
09:02But, you know, you and I both don't need cake at our age.
09:07All right.
09:08I think we're going to cut it right there.
09:09Come on now.
09:11Yeah.
09:11Rhino, AEW in town Wednesday and Thursday.
09:14And, yes, my daughter just turned 25.
09:16Our friendship just turned 25.
09:19No cake, no cupcakes.
09:20Yeah.
09:21Yeah.
09:21Well, hey, I'll send a fruit dish.
09:24How's that?
09:25How's that?
09:26How's that?
09:26How's that?
