00:19You know that this is one of the most affected regions of the state after the double earthquakes of June

00:25I wanted to show you a little bit of how life goes on after the tragedy of June 24, after
00:3433 days have passed.
00:36You can see from here, from where we are, that some of the most affected buildings,
00:42in this case not a complete collapse, but definitely one of the buildings that's still standing,
00:49have suffered a lot of damages and of course cannot be lived in right now.
00:56That is one of the imagery that makes up this region, this zone of Caravallera.
01:02We have also other regions over there.
01:05So in this zone, you still see some of the buildings standing with severe damage.
01:12But what we wanted to show you right now is how over a month after everything happened,
01:19there are also different businesses that slowly are coming back and opening their doors again.
01:29We are talking about one of the most affected regions in La Guaira.
01:34And still some of these businesses are opening their doors and caring for the locals.
01:42Of course, we can see a lot of need, of course, because there has been not only the,
01:52in terms of the economic activity, it's not only the material damage,
01:57and of course all the lives that have been lost in the area,
02:01but also the impact to the economic activity, the impact of people
02:05that some of them have not been able to go back to work, for example, for several weeks.
02:12They are caring for family members, for friends in the region.
02:17Some businesses have been affected so much in their structure that they have not been able to open.
02:23So there is a community effort on the part of those who have been able to open their doors,
02:30to do that role of caring for the locals, opening up their businesses,
02:35and starting that slow, mature path to recovery.
02:39The message, of course, is not to forget the tragedy.
02:42It's not just a mere moving forward, but it's a slow process of recovery.
