They have also revealed the boy's mother, who was found dead with her daughter in waters off port MacDonnell on Monday, attended a police station the previous day.

00:02As authorities continue investigating Compton mother Helena Wright's final moments on these
00:08clifftops, police say they've narrowed the focus of their inquiry with no information
00:14to suggest anyone else was involved.
00:17I'm able to say that the investigation is now being treated as a murder-suicide.
00:22We have needed to conduct preliminary aspects of the investigation in order to reach a stage
00:27where we can make that statement.
00:31The bodies of the mother and her 23-month-old daughter were spotted in the water on Monday
00:37after her car was found abandoned with the engine running on the outskirts of Port Macdonald.
00:43But there was no sign of her three-month-old son.
00:47The chances of finding the baby alive are zero, sadly.
00:53It's a retrieval effort, but we don't know where he is.
00:57Police have now confirmed Ms Wright visited Mount Gambier Police Station on Sunday and spoke to officers.
01:05They conducted a welfare check on Monday morning because of a call made by one of her friends,
01:10but no one was at her house.
01:13Less than two hours later, they were called to the scene of the tragedy.
01:17Emergency servicers have spent the past three days conducting an extensive land and air search,
01:25with state emergency service volunteers also travelling from Adelaide to assist with that effort.
01:30We've been unable to launch water assets.
01:33We've been able to get, the SES has been able to get an aerial drone up.
01:37We did consider the use of an underwater drone, but once again the water conditions are not favourable for that.
01:42A team of psychologists will arrive in nearby Mount Gambier tomorrow to support those who've been searching.
01:49Give your kids an extra tight hug.
01:52It'll affect the community whether they have children or not,
01:55because the deaths of such young children and a mother in these circumstances is tragic on so many levels.
