A man and two children were found safe early Wednesday (July 29) after being reported missing for about nine hours while carrying out activities in a forest near a waterfall at Pondok Munazil Siddiqin along Jalan Panchor Terap in Dungun.

00:14Terrap in Dungun. Dungun Fire and Rescue Station Chief Yahaya Hanafi said the victims were
00:20identified as 23-year-old Ijam Hazik Mohamed Ridwan and two 10-year-old boys, Mohamed Haraz
00:28Naufal Zamri and Ahmad Al-Bayhaqi Ahmad Nazri. He said the department received an emergency
00:35call at 10.47pm on Tuesday, prompting an immediate search and rescue operation. Preliminary investigations
00:43found that the trio had gone to the waterfall with several friends for a swim. At around
00:495pm, one of their friends left the area after being told that the three intended to hike
00:56uphill via a stream trail to swim at the upper section of the waterfall. When they failed
01:02to return by nightfall and one of their motorcycles remained parked at the scene, authorities were
01:08alerted. Yahaya said the operation was temporarily suspended at around 1am due to safety concerns.
01:16However, police later informed rescuers that the trio had been found by members of the public
01:22at about 2.20am. All three were found safe and reunited with their families.
