A 22-year-old man who was reported missing around Rumah Ricky area in Jalan Penjulau/Lukut since March 7 was found safe following a search and rescue (SAR) operation involving several agencies and local villagers.

Kanowit OCPD Deputy Supt Junical Ujal said the fifth day of SAR operation continued at 9am on Thursday (March 12) for the missing man Richard Lee Apang.

00:07slash Lukut since March 7 was found safe on Thursday morning.
00:12Kanowit Deputy OCPD, Deputy Superintendent Junikal Ujjal, said the man, identified as
00:18Richard Liapang, was discovered at about 11.40am in a swampy forest area about 500m from the
00:26Incident Control Post. He was found fully dressed but in a weak condition and was later taken to
00:32Kanowit Hospital for medical checks. He is reported to be in stable condition.
00:38The Sarawak Operations Control Centre of the Fire and Rescue Department said it received an
00:43emergency call at 11.04am on March 8, before a team from the Kanowit Fire and Rescue Station was
00:51deployed. The victim had reportedly left his home around 4pm on March 7 without his family's
00:57knowledge and without any identification or a mobile phone. Family members initially searched
01:03the nearby forest but were unable to locate him before reporting to the police. The search and
01:09rescue operation, which involved multiple agencies and local villagers, was officially called off at
01:151pm after the man was safely found.
