00:15government's anti-paper leak bill defending the bill minister of state in the prime minister's
00:20office dr jitendra singh called it a landmark reform to protect students and dismantle paper
00:26leak networks the government also blamed previous regimes for failing to curb this menace the
00:33opposition has hit back hard congress mp priyanka gandhi in fact accused government of stealing the
00:39future of india's youth and has demanded that the home minister must answer as to who ordered the
00:47police action against protesting students samajwadi party also said that the center acted only after
00:53sustained student protests with the the party chief akhilesia adhav alleging that dharmed pradhan was
01:00removed to shield pradhan mantri he dismissed the government's promises as jumla and questioned
01:06its anti-paper leak push take a look at the showdown that was witnessed in the lok sabha today
01:14the earlier bill and the amendment today are in a way reaffirmation of this government's deep commitment
01:25to safeguard the welfare of the students and the youth of this country and at the same time it is
01:35also a
01:36reiteration of prime minister modiji's resolve not to allow anyone to compromise with the future of the
01:47children of mother india and therefore this bill can be described in a way as a milestone legislation
01:59the government who has caused her struggle with the public school the government of the
02:06administration who has promised to defend and will suffer from the unanimous members of the
02:14government and will suffer from the law as well as the government and the government the
02:21government has confessed to take her to become a government analyst and since that government
02:27I was ashamed of the government that the government is not going to be blown away.
02:33But the new people have given the word that the government should be blown away.
02:41And the government also wants to be blown away by the young people.
02:48foreign
03:16and we don't believe in this way.
03:20I have also told him that Priyanka has said the wrong thing.
03:30He has given the record from the record.
03:33The biggest thing happened when the people of the country had their dreams.
03:40The dream of the dream, the dream of the dream, is bigger than any one.
03:47What can you do with pellet guns and AK-47s?
03:53Are you a terrorist?
03:57Who will answer?
03:58The dream of the dream, will answer?
04:01Who has ordered?
04:04Who has ordered pellet guns?
04:07We will also do the treatment of this paper leak.
04:12Because every assault is in the military.
04:18And also, we will also do the treatment of this.
04:45The Senate assured the court on 2nd January 2025 it would implement all
04:53of them.
04:54In this case, the court has been re-examated on June 21st, but the question is that when the bill
05:17When the bill passed, why did this leakage happen?
05:25After 2014, this leakage is not a shadyantra of the government.
05:32Either it is a shadyantra, or the government's system has permanent leakage.
05:36In 2010, you should have passed this bill so that the last 30 years, these paper leaks would not have
05:43taken place.
05:44In 75 years of India's independent history, there have been many papers leaked.
05:52When I was preparing for this speech, there were thousands of papers.
05:58In the last 20 years, more than 200 paper leaks have taken place.
06:06I can give you a full list of who was in power, but is that going to solve the problem?
06:14The student does not need politics. He does not want solution.
06:17He does not want slogans. He wants solution.
06:21And this bill that Prime Minister Modi is bringing today is the solution.
06:27And joining me on the show tonight, Dr. Syed Zafar Islam, National Spokesperson of the BJP and former MP.
06:32We also have Dr. Shama Mohammed, National Spokesperson of the Congress.
06:36What we are witnessing is a very healthy debate in Parliament.
06:40But the demand of the opposition, Dr. Syed Zafar Islam, that there must be some answer that should come from
06:49the government,
06:49particularly the Home Minister, as to why was the use of pellet guns allowed?
06:58Maria, first of all, the demand by the opposition parties is politicized by themselves.
07:06If they were really interested to know, then they would have waited for some time,
07:10because investigation will happen and the truth will come out.
07:14And we will know exactly in what situation, what circumstances.
07:18First of all, whether they had really fired pellet guns, then in what circumstances it was fired?
07:25What was the reason?
07:26Whether the policemen had to protect themselves?
07:30Well, if their responsibility is to safeguard the safety and security of the common man on the street, even protestors
07:41at that point in time,
07:42then who will protect them?
07:43If the people are attacking them, then they have to also protect themselves.
07:47They will use pellet guns against protesting students in the heart of Delhi and AK-47 in Bihar.
07:55No, no, how can you say that it was aimed at students?
08:02Protestors and those who were indulging in violence.
08:05So how can you say that it was students?
08:08You cannot use the word student because it was only then the investigation we were,
08:14why, in what circumstances he had to resort to firing a pellet gun
08:20and who were the ones who were indulging in this violence.
08:24I mean, you cannot just put policemen responsible for everything without even worrying about their safety and security.
08:31Well, the police, you know, it's interesting, Syed Zafar Islam, you are defending the police, butтАж
08:37No, I'm not defending, I'm saying thatтАж
08:40But the police itself has distanced itself from all those who use these guns.
08:45Be it the case of Delhi or even in the case of Bihar.
08:50No.
08:51First of all, again, I'm saying that, Maria, let the investigation be over.
08:56Whether he was authorized, whether it was permitted by the RAF management, whether he has really fired, whether if he
09:06had fired, in what circumstancesтАж
09:08There are many questions.
09:09Okay.
09:09Many questions.
09:10So perhaps the opposition should also not jump the gun here, Shama Mohammed.
09:14I mean, how can you come to conclusion without knowing the fact?
09:18Okay.
09:18Shama Mohammed, why have you come to conclusion?
09:21Can I speak?
09:21Yes.
09:22I have a couple of points.
09:23Before I get to that particular point, today a very important bill has been discussed in parliament,
09:28prevention, public examinations, prevention of unfair means amendment bill 2026.
09:35Now, we know a minister has resigned.
09:37I want to know today, why was the Prime Minister of India and Amit Shah not in parliament?
09:42Is it not important for them?
09:44Number two, yesterday when Darmendra Padan came to parliament,
09:4921 children have committed suicide under his watch when he was the education minister.
09:55He was garlanded.
09:57You know, in our times also many ministers resigned, right, because there was an issue.
10:02We wanted an impartial investigation.
10:04And I agree, we had ministers resign.
10:06But we don't, when they come to parliament after they resign, we garland them.
10:11That is like rebuking whatever has happened.
10:14Number three, when I come to the pellet guns, he said they should be an investigation.
10:19First, they said no pellet guns were used, but being a doctor myself and looking at the evidence,
10:24what they've got from the hospitals, they clearly say those are pellet gun injuries.
10:29Now, on the 20th of July, there is an entry at the parliament house police station.
10:34A DCP has, you know, under his watch, two pellet guns were used.
10:39It is clearly written.
10:40So there is evidence.
10:41So they cannot divide the evidence.
10:43Number four, there is another important thing.
10:45There was a truck where stones were thrown.
10:48Now it's found out that this truck was captured by the Delhi police four days ago.
10:53Now, how does a truck which has been taken in by Delhi police suddenly go to the opposition
10:58or they are saying, you know, the kids have taken out stones.
11:01So definitely there is some conspiracy there and the Delhi police has to come out.
11:06A lot of questions here.
11:07A lot of questions.
11:08One more point.
11:09Maria, last point.
11:10Last point, let me just finish.
11:12The other point which I really want to put is that you have a new education minister
11:17who clearly says when Bilki Isbanu was released, so what?
11:21What is the message?
11:23The message is, this is a man who stood with rapists because that was, you know,
11:29the Supreme Court came out and said these people have to go back to prison
11:33because that was a hideous crime.
11:34A seven month pregnant woman was raped and her family was murdered.
11:40Zafar Islam, you know, was yesterday's celebration at Makar Dwar
11:46of the former education minister necessary?
11:50See, they are again shifting the agenda all the time.
11:57First of all, they had a different agenda to play politics using the shoulder of the
12:04ordinary students.
12:06Innocent students were used basically to pursue their own political ambition.
12:10Now, they realize that no more their shoulders are available, so they are coming with different,
12:17different issues.
12:19As far as Dravinder Pradhanji is concerned, it is not something which was organized by a
12:25party or a group of member of parliament.
12:28It was just a spontaneous, that he was a minister.
12:33Come on, don't speak between.
12:36He was a minister.
12:38He is a very senior party functionary.
12:41He is a very responsible party functionary.
12:43Of course, he has tendered his resignation.
12:46It doesn't mean that admiration for him will go away immediately.
12:51I mean, the people who like him, who have worked with him, they know exactly what kind of person
12:55he is.
12:56And their admiration and adulation for him is something which was so apparent.
13:01So, it has nothing to do with paper leak, nothing to do with student demand.
13:06But it was primarily, he had resigned.
13:09And everybody felt that, of course, when he is coming, we must meet him before he enters
13:14the parliament, inside the parliament.
13:17So, it was nothing to celebrate.
13:20It was no celebration.
13:22It was no organized or formally organized event.
13:28It was just a group of a member of parliament met him.
13:32That's all.
13:32Nothing beyond that.
13:34Having said that, now they are, again, digressing.
13:37When they realize that this issue of making a new bill and introducing a new bill and making
13:44a new legislation to ensure that there is no paper leak in the future, government has
13:48introduced.
13:49The student wants that to be discussed.
13:51Many of the opposition parties also want to be discussed.
13:54But Congress party and a few other opposition parties, they do not want to seriouslyтАж
14:00Okay.
14:00You know, because there is, during the course of the debate, there was one point which led
14:06to some kind of face-off between Anurag Thakur and Priyanka Gandhi.
14:11I am going to play that because this is with regards to the government's newly constituted
14:15task force to overhaul India's examination system.
14:20Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, in fact, questioned the composition of this panel and asked why
14:25it includes an ex-IB chief, an OIT entrepreneur, and what she described as a Goa Mutra expert
14:33instead of more examination specialists.
14:35The BJP, of course, has hit back sharply as well.
14:39Let's listen in.
14:43In this new committee, there is a ex-IB chief, a ex-IB chief, an IT company, and a government
14:57also has a position of a government leader.
15:04What do you know about their leadership?
15:08Sir, what do you know about this?
15:13Sir, it is true.
15:15I thought that, Priyanka Gandhi Gandhi, I will say something good.
15:25He said this is the goal of the government.
15:29So, Gandhi's government's biggest issue is that the government of the government
15:41government has a better position.
15:48The government of the government has a better place for the government.
15:58The government of the government has a better position.
16:08Let me bring in Shema Mohamad Dao.
16:11Shema Mohamad, I interviewed Professor Kamakoti only yesterday.
16:15I mean, his track record is of multiple publications.
16:19He has invented India's first indigenous microprocessor.
16:24Why is the Congress Party undermining one of the most recognized achievers of the country?
16:33See, before I get to that...
16:35I mean, he specializes in the area of computer architecture, information security.
16:39He's the member of the National Security Advisory Board.
16:43Multiple such achievements.
16:45150 publications in international journals and conferences,
16:49guided many research scholars for their PhDs.
16:52He has coordinated and successfully delivered close to 50 projects
16:56from industry and government R&D establishments.
16:58I mean, why undermine achievers?
17:01Can I speak now?
17:05So, before I get to that, I want to reply to Zafar.
17:08He says there was no celebration.
17:10You know, if you look at that video,
17:12Darmendra Pradhan is also...
17:13A crown is put on his head.
17:15That is not a celebration.
17:16He was garlanded just like you.
17:19Your party garlanded the Bilkis Banu's rapists
17:23who came out of prison and used them for campaigning.
17:26So this is the party.
17:27They are just telling everybody out there,
17:28we have asked Darmendra Pradhan to resign,
17:30but we will, you know, celebrate him when he enters.
17:34So he said he's just an, you know, all of a sudden spontaneous.
17:38It was not a spontaneous celebration.
17:39It was a pre-planned celebration.
17:42Now, coming to what you asked me at this point of time,
17:45there are many people of RSS out there.
17:47They can just, you know, say that there are vice-chancellors
17:51heading from the RSS.
17:52They are having some multiple papers.
17:54Of course, Priyanka Gandhi is right.
17:56I want to ask today one question.
17:582024, you had the Radha Krishnan Committee report.
18:02You know, a huge, long, elaborate report.
18:05I want to know, where is that report?
18:07You've constituted another committee.
18:09You've got Nandan Nilakanini,
18:10hats off because he is the one who got in Aadhaar
18:12and we have got him in this politics to make these, the Aadhaar.
18:17My question today is what happened to the Radha Krishnan Committee report?
18:21Even in 2024, when the NEET undergraduate paper was leaked,
18:26charge-sheeted 45 people, 44 is out on bail.
18:31So where do we stand here, Maria?
18:35The issue is these things have limited.
18:37I want to know.
18:38No, no, wait.
18:38I have to know about the committee report
18:40and I want Zafar to answer about AK-47,
18:44which he has not answered in your state, Bihar.
18:46Why was an AK-47?
18:48Like Maria said,
18:49who gives you the right to attack students with AK-41s?
18:52Who gives you the right to use pellet guns?
18:55These are students.
18:56And an assault rifle.
18:56That's an assault rifle.
18:57I'm going to go on the Bihar issue later,
19:00but let Zafar Islam respond, please.
19:02Zafar, you have to answer all the pellet guns without answering.
19:04You are running away.
19:05You are running away.
19:07You have no answers.
19:08Yeah, yeah, yeah.
19:09Please allow me to speak.
19:11Why is the home minister not replying?
19:15Where is that home minister?
19:16Where is the talipa?
19:17Please, Maria, tell her.
19:19When the time is over,
19:20then she should allow others to speak.
19:23First of all,
19:24what was there to celebrate?
19:26Tell me.
19:27Mr. Pradhan had resigned.
19:28What was there to celebrate?
19:29What occasion was there to celebrate?
19:31Tell me, honestly,
19:33any sane person...
19:34Please do not interrupt.
19:37Don't speak in between.
19:38I'm asking the...
19:40I'm asking...
19:41You asked me.
19:41No, Sam.
19:41Give me the anchor.
19:42No, I'm asking anchor.
19:43I'm asking anchor.
19:45Only in...
19:45Shama, just wait.
19:47Please wait.
19:47Please wait.
19:48Let him finish.
19:50Let him finish.
19:51Let him finish.
19:52I'm not asking you.
19:53There is an anchor.
19:54Zafir Islam.
19:55Zafir Islam, go ahead.
19:56Zafir Islam, go ahead.
19:58Have you taken Maria's name?
20:00No.
20:00You just asked me.
20:01Ma'am, please wait.
20:04Let him finish.
20:04No sane person will ever say that there was a celebration because he had resigned from
20:12the Council of Ministers.
20:15Can any sane person say?
20:17Only fools will say.
20:19I don't know whether Priyanka Gandhi is a fool or whether other people are fools who are
20:24making this kind of statement.
20:26Because after resigning, who will celebrate?
20:29And how people will celebrate if somebody has resigned?
20:31Tell me.
20:32I'm posing this question.
20:33If tomorrow she or I have been sacked from our party, will I celebrate?
20:39Or will she celebrate?
20:40So is it a normal thing, Zafir?
20:41Is it a normal thing?
20:42The minister has garlanded.
20:43He's on the ground.
20:44Is it a normal thing?
20:45Why did you do it?
20:46Why did you do it?
20:47Give the answer.
20:48Please don't speak in between.
20:50Because you're not asking me.
20:51Okay, let's have Zafir Islam on the screen now because ma'am, you're not allowing him
20:56to speak.
20:57He was patiently listening to you.
20:58That's not fair.
21:00All I'm saying, Maria, that there was no occasion to celebrate.
21:04It is just that people, the member of parliament who realized that he on his own tendered his
21:11resignation because we didn't want opposition to play politics here and wanted to play with
21:17the future of the youth of this great country and the future of the students.
21:22That is why he on his own, without being asked, tender his resignation in the interest
21:27of the students' future, then what was there to celebrate?
21:30I couldn't understand if a fool can only say that there was a celebration, an organized
21:36celebration.
21:37Yes, I understand.
21:38People gathered.
21:39Member of parliament gathered.
21:41People felt that he had done something for the interest of the nature, for the interest
21:46of the future of this nation.
21:47Dr. Zafir Islam, of course, there'll be different views to that.
21:50What really played out appeared to be a celebration with the minister being welcomed the way he
21:57was, the former minister at Makardwar.
22:00So, the opposition and you will have different opinion about how it played out in that moment.
22:06Shama Muhammad, Dr. Zafir Islam, I appreciate your time.
22:09The month-long paper leak agitation may have ended, but the battle over the fallout is far
22:14from over.
22:15Even after the centre assured the CJP that cases against protesters could be withdrawn, fresh
22:20differences emerged over the implementation of that promise.
22:24While Assam and Bihar have announced steps to roll back action, the Supreme Court has stepped
22:30in with interim directions, setting the stage for the next legal and political battle.
22:36Remember, the court will be taking up this case again on Monday.
22:41Let's listen in.
22:41I'm leaving you with that.
22:43Thanks so much for watching.
22:50A month-long protest that witnessed violence, a police crackdown and eventually came to an
22:57end with the resignation of Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pratham.
23:04The breakthrough came after the government agreed to accept the key demands of the CJP.
23:11One of the major demands was the withdrawal of cases filed against protesters.
23:16But that promise soon turned into a stumbling block.
23:21After the third round of talks with the CJP, the government agreed that no action would be taken
23:27against the protesters.
23:32What will happen if there is no action, F.I.R., and if there is, then it will withdraw.
23:39Then we will give the copy of the F.I.R.'s, and after that, there will not be any action
23:46to withdraw.
24:06But the CJP accused the Modi government of reneging on its promise.
24:33A Tuesday deadline was set, but the talks happened just in time, again at midnight.
24:43The government agreed that the government would not be able to keep the peace.
24:48The government agreed that the government of Bihar's home department, a post-release,
24:52which suggested that all F.I.R.s will be brought back against protesters, and in the future
24:56there will not be taken into action.
24:58The press release came, and we also talked, and we were sitting and discussing that there
25:02is another government that will be the same as the other state governments that will
25:10The Assam government announced that it would withdraw cases against the protesters
25:15and release those who had been detained.
25:19The Bihar government followed with a similar announcement.
25:23This as the Supreme Court refused blanket immunity for all protesters.
25:28It ordered the release of those with no criminal record,
25:32barred coercive action against peaceful protesters and called for a high-powered probe.
25:40The CJP, however, has rejected the interim order.
25:44It says allowing investigations to continue goes against the centre's assurance
25:49that all FIRs would be withdrawn and no protester would face action.
26:22For now, the streets are calm, but with fresh, legal and political battles unfolding,
26:28the paper leak movement is entering its next chapter.
