00:42We saw Corey Washington, Chauncey Jenkins, Mo Udesi adding guys like Dexter Dennis, you

01:22The, the prime early Marshall days that kind of made the team up, uh, and now it's kind
01:29of to the mid Marshall days, which is kind of the Connor Frank camp, Marcus McDuffie's.
01:32Uh, and so you got to find a way to try to get the IB guys and the Paul Mills
01:37guys to,
01:38to buy into this thing and, and want to come play in this.
01:41And so, uh, we saw our first Paul Mills guy this year.
01:45And I think I, if I'm not mistaken, I think we saw our first IB only guys this year.
01:51Uh, cause did, I don't know if Mo ever played with Marshall or not.
01:54Uh, but I know like Chauncey Jenkins only played for IB.
01:58I'm pretty sure.
01:58I don't know if we've had one of them or not.
01:59So you, that's just the, you know, all the guys that have played on this forever have
02:04been buddies cause they played together at some point.
02:06Uh, so do you recruit, you got to find a way to get the younger guys.
02:09It's hard to think of the team without Rashard Kelly, Connor Frank camp and Marcus McDuffie,

02:15That's kind of been the foundation of the team with Zach Bush coaching, um, with Sturtz,
02:21uh, part of that code, like they, the core and the foundation of it have been the same
02:26for a long time now.
02:29How much of an appetite does that whole crew have with what we saw last night?
02:33That's the part it's too, it's like, it's too much.
02:36This just happened nine hours ago to know that kind of stuff.
02:41That's what I guess my thing is a lot could change 11 and a half months from now.
02:48Are we even thinking about that?
02:50If all of a sudden some of those names got together and wanted to do it, like if you had
02:55all of a sudden, let's just take the names Jay mentioned there.
02:59If all of a sudden Corey Washington and Chauncey Jenkins and Mo Udesi and Tyson Etienne and Dexter
03:04Dennis, if all of a sudden those guys all to get, get together and they're like, let's
03:07do it again.
03:08I think there's a pretty good chance they do it again.
03:11Um, I, I just think this will, we're not going to forget about this, but again, like
03:18the actions of a couple of people, you can't let that derail a good thing.

03:28I think, I think we have shorter memories than that.
03:31Again, I don't want to place blame on anybody other than the people that started the fight,
03:38you know?
03:39Yeah.
03:39And again, it's so much of, you know, as I said, it's regardless of if that fight
03:44happened or not, you've got to fill the team and it's a matter of, as we said, they almost
03:49didn't play this year.
03:50They didn't know if they were going to play after they won last year.
03:53Uh, and so does the fight do anything to it?
03:57Maybe, maybe not.
03:58I think that you can even, even look at it out of a lens of if the fights didn't happen,
04:02you know, do we want to keep doing this?
04:04We kind of didn't want to do it this year.
04:06And then this year we just lost.
04:07And so are we, you know, I think that there was a lot of, if we come back, we're going
04:12to
04:12be really, really good.
04:12And we could go win this thing and it's like, well, $2 million sounds pretty accurate.
04:16We could go do that.
04:17Uh, and yeah, they were probably one of the best rosters in the alumni side of this thing.
04:22I would have to say, uh, and so I don't know if they're going to be like, well, I don't
04:26know.
04:26We're a year older and the chemistry is kind of going to be a little weird if these guys
04:31aren't there and these guys aren't there.
04:33And so if they can get a team together, they might play.
04:36If they can't get a team together, they won't play.
04:37So it's, we'll just wait and see.
04:39The TBT will certainly try to get them to play because they continue to draw and they
04:45drew 8,000 fans, but that'll be, that'll be something to discuss down the road.
04:50There'll be plenty of discussion on what we saw last night today and in the coming days.
04:54And then, you know, and then it'll fully turn the page to, to shocker basketball, current
04:59shocker basketball.
05:00And we'll probably forget a little about this, um, fun memories though, for everybody, uh,
05:07that were in the stands, you got all kinds of stuff last.
05:11I just imagine like, um, if I'm there with my kids, like you have the first fight and
05:15it's like, well, here's what happened to kids.
05:17And then you have the game and it's, you know, you get that crazy ending and you're all
05:21fired up and then there's another fight and you're just like, well, kids, you know, this
05:25is, uh, he shouldn't have done that.
05:27Like he shouldn't have made that, that that's, that's the bummer that's.
05:30And of course, somebody, you know, getting hurt potentially in there is also a bummer,
05:34but we'll, we'll continue to follow along and report back on anything we hear from it.
05:39Now, KU's got a chance TJ to go win $2 million.
05:43Do you think they're good enough to do it?
05:46It's so weird.
05:47Cause I, somebody asked that yesterday and I thought that K state was better than KU was.
05:53I think my brain went like this.
05:55KU on paper was better than K state.
05:59I watched game one and said, K state's way better than KU.
06:03Like this is pretty wild.
06:04Uh, and then I still think like K state probably should have won or had a reasonable chance
06:09to win all three of the games that they played against KU.
06:11Uh, and they found a way to get out of there.
06:13You know, they're definitely more clutch than K state.
06:15You can say that for sure.
06:16Uh, they played better in the third game though.
06:18Uh, and they were, they were the better team.
06:20I feel like.
06:20And then last night, you know, as we're going into that, that shocks are favored.
06:26Uh, and I would have put them as favored too.
06:29I think that they were one of the best teams and they really didn't play up to it outside
06:33of that first game.
06:34They trailed in every game that they played after that.
06:36And so I, I don't know if it's a mix of, you know, is this teams that just haven't been
06:42able to finish the games against KU's team, but again, they're clutch.
06:47They find ways to do it down the stretch.
06:49And so, uh, who they play now, Kentucky's team, that's going to be hard to go into Kentucky
06:54and go get a win.
06:54I know that I imagine is, is true.
06:57So I don't know if they are good enough.
06:59I think they're good enough to go beat a Kentucky team.
07:02I don't know who's on that team.
07:03I know that they've had, uh, the drama of who's playing for the Kentucky team.
07:08I know Willie Colley Stein, the Kansas native, uh, is playing for them.
07:12So, and then I have no idea what to expect from the non-alumnies.
07:16Well, yeah, I mean, that's always a wild card.
07:19I mean, it's not a Willie Colley Stein's there.
07:23It's not a, you know, a roster that's just like blowing you away by any means.
07:30Like you're not going to know most of these names and not even know who they are.
07:36They, Kentucky, a team like Kentucky has the same issue.
07:39A lot of these teams have, like they have so many actual like NBA guys.
07:43It's like, who's, who's of the right age to be able to even do this?
07:47I don't know.
07:48I think KU's good.
07:51KU's good, but it's, it's kind of with them for me.
07:53Cause when we first saw their roster, it was like, damn, that's, that might be the best
07:57roster on paper we've seen, but then you kind of get into it and you're like, well,
08:01who's actually playing though.
08:02So, and that's where we get a little confusing.
08:06Like Frank Mason's hurt.
08:09Zeke Mayo has had to become one of the guys.
08:12Jacob Hannah's playing a lot.
08:14I don't, I don't know.
08:16You know, I don't, I don't know who's actually going to get out there and play.
08:21I mean, they're closer to $2 million that we know.
08:24So maybe they're more motivated.
08:26Some of these other guys to give more meaningful minutes.
08:28I'm not sure, but I think they could.
08:30I think they could win this thing for sure.

08:33I mean, just if it's, if it's everybody else defend and let Zeke Mayo and Frank Mason take

08:42It works when, when the aftershocks used to do that in the very early years with Connor
08:46Frank camp.
08:47And then now to Marcus Keene, of course, this year with the non-alumni as well, back to
08:52that note is typically in the past, this is what's so weird about it this year.
08:55Typically in the past, we don't know anything about the non-alumni teams and we don't know
08:58any of the players on them most of the time, but then you watch them play.
09:02It's like, oh, they're playing the West Virginia alumni and they beat West Virginia.
09:06It's like, oh, well, I knew guys on that team.
09:08So now I have a kind of a reference point that they're better than this team and they're
09:12better than this team.
09:12Uh, and so this year it's like, oh, so Davis steel is better than the red roses war ready
09:20or whatever they're called.
09:21So I, what does that mean?
09:22I have literally no idea.
09:24It's literally going, I would imagine everybody outside of some real TBT sickos, uh, that are
09:30going to turn on that alumni game and be like, okay, who are these guys?
09:34All right.
09:34We're playing them.
09:35Um, I think in years past, you at least watch the other game because it's like, oh yeah,
09:40they're playing again, you know, not watched it, but paid attention to see if your team
09:44was going to play them.
09:45This was the championship game last night for me.
09:48Like I sit here and I'm like, what, how likely am I to go watch any more TBT basketball games?
09:54And the answer to that is probably really close to zero.
09:58Um, if KU beats Kentucky, like I'll, I'll try to get on that.
10:02I don't, I don't need, when is that game?
10:04I don't even know.
10:05Wednesday.
10:05Wednesday night.
10:08I'll try to, I'll try to get there.
10:10And then of course, if KU's in the championship, just for our purposes here and, and work,
10:15I'll follow along.
10:16But from a fans perspective, I'm like, nah, last night was the championship game.
10:23We have been building up to that game for years.
10:26We've been waiting for that.
10:27And we got the correct energy too.
10:30We got the appropriate amount of energy for that game.
10:32And it unfortunately went to the level that it did unrelated to that energy, honestly,
10:39from a guy who wasn't involved in that energy when that energy existed.
10:44Yep.
10:44That's what sucks because everything else was, was kind of good, right?
10:49Like everything else got us to the place we, we hoped it would, it was a tight game.
10:53You had a weird squirrely circumstance that created this scenario of six players, which was
11:00unfortunate, but interesting.
11:02And then you have the end and you're like, well, that's, that, that, that's stupid.
11:06That can't happen.
11:07Random side story of it all is if KU goes and beats Kentucky, we're going to have a TBT
11:12championship game in Washburn University in the Lee arena, which is great.
11:17That's just great.
11:18I can imagine the championship of this thing that has been in their crowd for that game
11:25too, was not as quite as good as the Bramlage crowd, right?
11:28Like it was okay.
11:30I'm trying to remember.
11:31I watched, I watched it.
11:32I watched the game.
11:33I mean, it's a smaller gym.
11:34It's a smaller gym.
11:36So it's a little hard to tell.
11:39Maybe, maybe, maybe they'll sell out a little gym like Washburn and that again, I don't think
11:43that Davis steel is going to travel well.
11:49So no, or at all, all the comes in and blue.

11:53Like I think the, the, the extent of the Davis steel fans would go to the players and the
11:58players, wives, if they come.
12:01And maybe players, moms, maybe players, moms.
12:04Um, yeah, it was, it was, it, it'll be, I think people will get into it if they make
12:11it to that point.
12:12I think people will go, they'll, they'll, they'll, they'll, they'll sell it out.

12:17Uh, a couple thousand, two, 3000 people.
12:19They'll sell it out.
12:20And I'll, and I'll be there because I want to see these guys.
12:24I want to see Frank Mason keep doing this quite frankly.
12:26Um, just like whatever flip that's when we switch that flips, because we know we've
12:32seen that switch in college.
12:33We know it's there.
12:34We know we've seen Frank Mason take over games before.
12:37It's like, even though he's got bandages on every, like he's so banged up, but it still
12:42is able to switch right at the end of the game.
12:45Did you have any doubt that shot was falling when he took it last night?
12:48I mean, I I've learned that whenever they're within three, you just stand up and start
12:52shooting because it's going to happen.
12:55And then he pulled up for that shot.
12:56And I was like, Oh, he is not missing that shot.
13:00It was a great game.
13:0145 so bad about that stupid stuff at the end.
13:06It was a fun game.
13:09Lame.
