00:00Yet again a young conservative organization is being rocked by a bigotry scandal. According to
00:06reporting from New York Magazine a leader of the New York Young Republicans Club has been tweeting
00:11anti-semitic bigotry for years and even was photographed doing a Nazi salute. Though he
00:17denied that the photo or the tweets were him in a statement to New York Magazine he was immediately
00:23put on leave and sure he very well may just be a bad apple. But this is not just about
00:28this one
00:29person this one club or this one photo. It's about a years-long trend of young conservatives getting
00:34caught up in scandals where they're more interested in edgelording than engaging in actual political
00:39discourse. I feel like I'm always reporting on another scandal like this. There have been group
00:44chats where n-words have been used more than 400 times and chats with national leaders joking about
00:51harming people and thinking that rape is apparently funny. What perhaps started as a way to push back
00:57against political correctness has clearly become its own monster. And those on the right who are not
01:02edgelords should have every interest in condemning this. Because as of now if you're a young person
01:08on a college campus you might just think that being on the right means flirting with bigotry
01:12and being a nasty troll.
