00:00Democrats could have worked with us in a bipartisan manner to avert this unnecessary and very harmful shutdown.
00:22But instead, they did something that is rather shocking to us.
00:26They prioritized taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal aliens over keeping the government open for American citizens.
00:34They themselves positioned that as a binary choice, and it's patently absurd.
00:39We have about 7,000 people who visit this Capitol each and every day, but today that's not going to be the case.
00:47We have open dialogue all the time, but here's the simple fact.
00:51There isn't anything we can do to make this bill any better for them.
00:55We literally did not put one single partisan provision in the bill.
00:59There's no policy writers. There's no gimmicks and no tricks.
01:02Now, we could have done that.
01:04I had a lot of colleagues that wanted us to load this up with our priorities,
01:07but the leaders decided that we should do this in good faith simply to buy more time again for the appropriations process to work.
01:14That's all this is. So there's nothing to negotiate. There's nothing that we can pull out of this bill to make it any leaner or cleaner than it is.
01:21It's absolutely sparkling clean, and it's only 24 pages long, okay?
01:25We're carrying it around as an exhibit. You've all read it, I hope. Everybody can read this. It's very, very simple.
01:30Rather than work with President Trump and Republicans to get this job done, as our party has done repeatedly in the same situation over the years,
01:38Democrats want to play political games with the lives and the livelihoods of Americans.
01:43The simple truth is Democrats in Congress have dragged our country into another reckless shutdown to satisfy their far-left base.
01:50That is the truth. Whether or not the government remains open or reopens is entirely up to them.
01:57There's still time for Democrats to pass this clean bipartisan bill that's sitting before them, and we encourage our Democrat colleagues to do that.
02:05All right. Thank you, Mr. Speaker and our House colleagues for doing this.
02:13Unfortunately, we are here this morning in a government shutdown that Democrats wanted.
02:19Chuck Schumer, at the behest of a bunch of liberal, far-left activist groups, has walked his Democrat colleagues into a boxed canyon.
02:33There's no way out, folks. There's no way out. This could have been avoided. It's totally unavoidable.
02:40And everybody's now asking the question, how does this end?
02:43Well, it ends when the Senate Democrats pick this bill up, passed by the House of Representatives, and vote for it.
02:52It's not about who wins or who loses or who gets blamed and all this. It's about the American people.
02:59And they have taken the American people hostage in a way that they think benefits them politically, but at the consequence and the cost of what's going to happen to the American families if this government shutdown continues.
03:12We have a bill that is clean, that just keeps these negotiations going for another two weeks, two months, while the government stays open.
03:22And all Chuck Schumer needs to do is get over the tantrum that he's having with the results of the election from November and vote yes to keep the government open.
03:33We are here ready to get the job done. Schumer needs to end this shutdown and finally join with us and let's start real negotiations without holding the American people hostage.
03:46didn't it better, you didn't submit?
03:53Please don't mind, Peter Poon?
03:54It's, Peter Poon.
03:56Cut down to have those.
03:59Mr Prince, what Distant Justice Department said
04:04I am aектор's member.
04:06The Order of Justice Department stopped coming through everything.
04:12Thatrito government says they asked these issues
