The narrative director for the upcoming '007 First Light' explains how advancing technology allows video games to create deeper human connections and emotional narratives, sometimes even surpassing what's possible in film.

00:00I mean, as the technology evolves, the more we're able to present the human drama and the human, like, a
00:06human connection with the characters, which I think is paramount when you're doing something like this. You want to be
00:11there with them. You want to feel the pain and the joy, where previously in the gaming medium it was
00:17much more high level of abstraction and you'd need to, you know, put your imagination to work.
00:24I definitely also see film and games getting closer and closer for the reasons that you say, but there are
00:31stories that are better served and experiences that are better served in the gaming medium than they are in film.
00:37Film will always, there are definitely also stories that is best served being film, but it is very exciting.
00:43It's exciting to be here as it kind of comes into its own, able to tell these stories of an
00:50emotional quality, I will say, that does approach film.
