00:00This filler that I'm using today is called Versa, and that is a medium-density hyaluronic gel filler.
00:05Remember, your skin is like a piece of paper.
00:08The more you fold it and crease it, the more those lines become permanent,
00:11and all the good hyaluronic gets squeezed out of those areas.
00:17I'm Jessica, and I'm getting Technic filler done today.
00:21I want to get Technic filler done because I have these deep grooves in my neck
00:27that have kind of just been there since I was a teenager, like 13, 14,
00:32and then it's actually gotten gradually worse.
00:34It's kind of starting to go further down my neck, and I'm getting even more and more lines,
00:39so it's a bit much for being in my mid-20s right now.
00:42Getting Technic filler would definitely boost my confidence,
00:46so I can feel more comfortable wearing some of the jewelry I have.
00:50Some of my necklaces actually sit perfectly between all my grooves, which just isn't fun.
00:55I actually find myself wearing a lot of turtlenecks or kind of having my hair covering my neck.
01:01It's just how I've been living my life for a while.
01:04My dream outcome would be to just feel my age.
01:07I feel like these lines kind of belong maybe when I'm in my 50s or 60s,
01:11not so much when I'm in my mid-20s.
01:13I'm leveling up because it's time to put myself first.
01:17I feel like I just haven't been giving myself the attention I need,
01:20and it's time to give myself the self-care to boost my confidence that I so deserve.
01:27Hi, I'm Dr. Kay DeRayraj.
01:29I'm a head and neck surgeon and facial plastic surgeon located in Los Angeles, California.
01:35I've been a head and neck surgeon and facial plastic specialist for the last 15 to 17 years,
01:41and I love what I do.
01:43I consider myself a facial artist.
01:45For me, beauty is all about confidence.
01:47When you look better, you feel better, you perform better, you're your most confident.
01:52This generation, I think of all generations, is going to have the most tech neck issues
01:56just because of the amount of time they're on their phones looking downward.
02:00But luckily, I have a good solution.
02:02The neck wash treatment that I do can treat the neck rings.
02:07So, are we ready to begin?
02:09Yes.
02:10I'm slightly nervous about how the result will look, but I think I'm more excited.
02:17Tech Neck Filler is a procedure which I also call the neck wash.
02:21They use a hyaluronic gel filler that erases the lines and rings of the neck,
02:26and it can last up to a year.
02:28So, as we age, you lose more and more water content in the skin,
02:32and that's because the hyaluronic acid levels go down.
02:35Hyaluronic filler is made of hyaluronic acid, and this is a component of human skin.
02:40After the consultation with my patient, one of our first steps will be photography of the neck to take pictures
02:46of the lines.
02:47We cleanse the neck thoroughly with an alcohol and betadine solution,
02:51and once the neck lines are marked and measured, I'll administer the filler.
02:56My first step is going to be anesthetizing the injection points, and I'm going to use lidocaine with epinephrine,
03:03a form of novocaine, to numb the insertion points for our cannula.
03:07I like to use a cannula in this case because it's a blunt-tipped needle, it's more comfortable,
03:13it prevents bruising, and it also glides smoothly to break up fibrous adhesion bands that have formed over the years.
03:21Once the injection of lidocaine is finished, the cannula is inserted,
03:27and we begin the process of dissecting through the fibrous bands that create these deep, linear lines of the neck.
03:35And this is a very important step because without this, the filler can diffuse and migrate into areas and channels
03:42where we don't want it to go.
03:45Next, after breaking up the adhesion bands, I'm going to use a hyaluronic gel filler, and it's a medium-density
03:52filler.
03:53One syringe roughly per neck ring is required.
03:57I'm going to feather the filler carefully in Jessica's neckline, starting with the uppermost line and then going downwards.
04:04The filler needs to be placed at a superficial depth to where it can be seen,
04:08but also not too superficial because we don't want to have bands of visible filler along the neck.
04:17After completing the first neck ring, I will then move inferiorly to remaining neck rings.
04:22I'm always going to enter using the cannula and thread the cannula directly into the neck ring.
04:31Next, with the injection technique done, we checked on Jessica and she's doing just fine.
04:35She barely felt the injection points.
04:37My next step is going to be cleaning up and massaging Jessica's neck.
04:42For massage, I'm going to use my Katie Skin Care Neck Cream, and that one's excellent.
04:46It has peptides for fine lines, and it's a very important part of aftercare to massage the filler gently
04:52to be sure that we don't get any lumping or banding of the filler.
04:56The technique filler will cost roughly anywhere from $700 to $1,000 per syringe,
05:01depending on where you are in the country.
05:02In Los Angeles, it's around $800, and one syringe per neck ring is the average of what's used.
05:10Finishing up, we noticed that Jessica has some minor redness,
05:13and that's from the final injection points that we did place to superficially smoothen the filler,
05:19and that is going to be very temporary.
05:21It'll heal nicely in the next seven to ten days.
05:24When I see her back in follow-up at two weeks, it'll look smooth, refreshed, and virtually flawless.
05:29Jessica tolerated the procedure very well, and I think she's going to have an excellent result.
05:35Okay, are you ready to see your beautiful neck?
05:37Yes.
05:38Take a look in this mirror.
05:40Oh, no way.
05:42What?
05:43Yeah.
05:44It's a little red right now.
05:45You've obviously been poked, and the filler's going to take two weeks to hydrate and settle in nicely.
05:51Oh, so it's going to get better and better.
05:54Yeah, so as it hydrates, it absorbs a thousand times its water weight.
05:57We'll do some massage, but you can see that those deep, deep grooves are now filled.
06:02Wow.
06:02This whole week, don't bend down when you're looking at your devices and your phone.
06:07Anything should be up at eye level.
06:08I feel excited to see this, like, transform over the next few days and weeks to see, like, how it
06:15really looks.
06:16I know it's a little red right now, so I just can't wait to see, like, the end result,
06:20because I know it takes time to heal, so I'm just, like, an anxious little bunny over here.
06:26So Technic filler of all the things we do is something where aftercare is super important.
06:31We don't want to crease and bend an area of a neckline that's freshly filled, because you're just going to
06:37get that line back again.
06:38The procedure was not painful at all.
06:42I only felt Dr. K's, like, fingers, like, the pressure on my neck.
06:46The actual cannula and the needles, not really at all.
06:51I maybe felt a tiny prick of the needles here and there, but overall, I honestly felt like I could
06:56have just taken a nap during this procedure.
06:58So working with Jessica was great.
07:00She's a really motivated client.
07:02I think she's so excited to have a new neck without lines, and she's going to take great care of
07:07it.
07:07Her results will look natural, refreshed, and the lines will be softly effaced and much improved.
07:13I'm proud I took this step of something I wanted to do for myself,
07:17and I'm excited to strut out of here all calm and confident, knowing that this was worth it.
07:26So it's been about a week since my neck wash procedure with Dr. K,
07:31and I'm super happy with the results we achieved in just one session.
07:35Overall, the healing process was not that bad.
07:37I was just a little sore and tender for a couple days, a little bit swollen, but that went away
07:44pretty easily.
07:45I made sure to do my daily massages with some lotion and to make sure that the filler wasn't turning
07:53bumpy.
07:54So I made sure to do my homework.
07:56I'm pretty thrilled of what can be achieved in just one session.
07:59No amount of work I could have done personally at home with lotion, massages, etc.,
08:05I don't think would have accomplished these results.
08:07So I'm just feeling really good right now.
08:09I'm even rocking a little necklace.
08:11So yeah, thank you, Dr. K.
