00:00My mother puts that pressure on me all the time.
00:03My mother's like, I can't wait till you have grandbabies.
00:07As a woman, I mean, that's all you get is pressure about having a baby.
00:10That's all you hear from everybody.
00:11Once you graduate college and your family starts wondering about
00:14when you're going to get into a serious relationship
00:17and then when you're going to get married, like,
00:19I've never been in a serious relationship.
00:21My longest relationship lasted four months.
00:23I can't get married to someone or be in love with someone
00:26if I don't even know who I am yet.
00:28And I'm still finding myself at 22.
00:31Most people do want children, and so I feel really lucky
00:33that I have a husband that doesn't.
00:35His family definitely wants us to have kids pretty soon,
00:38so we might start trying either next year or the year after.
00:42Since we literally do have a biological clock that's ticking,
00:45it's like so much pressure.
00:46All my friends have children, so everybody I know has children
00:50or is pregnant or wants to be pregnant.
00:52For the longest time, I said I wouldn't have kids until I was like 28,
00:5529, just because I would have my doctorate,
00:58and I would have hopefully a private practice by then.
01:00I work for the New York State Senate,
01:02and Jessica has been coming to work with me nearly every day
01:05since she was six weeks old.
01:07It's still very scary.
01:11Yeah, that's scary.
01:12I would want to work.
01:13I would want to know that I'm contributing to the household,
01:15that, like, all the work that I spent in college is actually
01:18going towards something.
01:19I love my career, it's very important as well,
01:22but that would never stand in the way of me having a family.
