00:00Speaking at a media briefing at the police administration building in Port of Spain yesterday morning,
00:06head of the Southern Division, Superintendent Richard Bertie, said investigators had not yet been able to identify the deceased.
00:14They had initially found a jaw which led them to a body.
00:19And a skeleton remains, so thus far we have no identification with respect to the body.
00:28No one has come forward to say that there wasn't any clothing or any other items that were found.
00:35So, so far we have no arm, no identification.
00:39The remains were discovered on July 16th after a resident reported seeing a dog carrying what appeared to be a
00:46human lower jawbone.
00:48A search operation was launched and members of the hunter's search and rescue team later located the rest of the
00:54remains
00:54in dense vegetation approximately 200 feet off Wooding Street.
00:59Police said the remains were clad in male clothing, including a blue jeans and a belt,
01:04and a detached skull which was found nearby.
01:08Bertie said investigators had not received any reports that could assist with identifying the deceased.
01:13He said the matter remained under investigation as police continued to await further information
01:19that could help determine the identity of the person and the circumstances surrounding the death.
