01:29After we went to the Eastern Conference Finals, I was getting interviewed by someone, and I
01:33told them, when we win, you're going to come here and do this mural.
01:36This one is called the King of the East, and it's to commemorate Jalen Brunson being the
01:41top guard, being the king in the entire Eastern Conference Finals.
01:44The 2026 Eastern Conference Finals, most valuable player by unanimous decision, Jalen Brunson.
01:56Every team that the Knicks beat at Eastern Conference, I wanted to just depict them bowing
02:00down to the Knicks.
02:01For me, it just made sense to put Atlanta, Philly, Cleveland.
02:05I chose Maxie and Harden because those are the top guards.
02:08Those are the point guards for their respective teams.
02:10And I know Trey Young ain't part of the Atlanta Hawks no more.
02:12He's with the Wizards.
02:13But, you know, we got a scene in New York.
02:15Y'all know how that go.

02:21I had to make that a part of it because, you know, it's part of the story.
02:24More people talk about that than anything else in the image.
02:26And I knew that was going to happen, so that's why he's there.
02:28First time I did it was actually on 33rd Street and 7th Avenue, right on the corner of
02:33Crystal Street from MSG.
02:34Took me three days to do.
02:35The very next day, it got taken down.
02:37The owner of the building, a 97-year-old man, great man, great positive energy.
02:41What he told me was, New York Knicks fans don't know how to act.
02:45So me putting it there with people rioting, climbing buildings, the art being right across
02:51the street, they just didn't want the, MSG didn't want the attention that it was going
02:55to bring.
02:56So that's why I had to get taken down.

03:15It was probably best that it happened that way because it inspired me to do more work.

03:33When I completed this one, we had just won game two.

03:36I'm like, oh yeah, we got the chip.

03:39We're going to manifest it.
03:40And now that the art is here, I became a part of it.
03:44And it's something that I'll never forget.
03:46I go by On the Loose, the artist.
03:49I'm a New York-based artist, street artist, muralist, musician.
03:52I've been painting murals for over a decade.
03:56The mural I painted was actually over here, right next to the green and black silhouette
04:00to the left of it.
04:01That's where I painted the Jalen Brunson mural.
04:04And if you look on the floor, you can still see the blue and orange.
04:08What inspired the whole mural, pretty much, was just the energy around the New York Knicks
04:15and around New York in general.
04:17I mean, you could feel the energy as soon as they were winning, as soon as they beat
04:22the Hawks in that first series and they came back.
04:24It was just like the energy just started escalating and getting bigger and bigger.
04:29And so by the time they got to the Spurs, I already knew I wanted to paint a Knicks mural.
04:35I was like already seeing it.
04:36I felt it.
04:37I felt the energy.
04:38I was like, it's time.
04:38My idea was Jalen Brunson.
04:41I found the image of him holding the three out with his arm.
04:44But since I've seen his arm out, I was like, man, this would be great, a great time to turn
04:48him into Thanos with the Thanos gauntlet because I do a series where I turn regular people into
04:53superheroes or supervillains.
04:55So that's how I came with that design.
04:57Thanos once said, fine, I'll do it myself.
05:01And I feel like that was Jalen Brunson.
05:04When the game looked like it was not going to happen, he just put on his gauntlet and
05:08he closed his fist.
05:09He said, fine, I'll do it myself.
05:11But in this universe, in this multi-universe, Thanos won.
05:15I found out that they took down the mural through like Instagram messages, like through
05:20DMs.
05:21People were sending me pictures like, what's going on?
05:23This is crazy.
05:24What happened to the mural?
05:25And I was actually fishing.
05:27I was on a boat fishing.
05:28And I'm looking at this and I'm like, this can't be real.
05:31So when I painted it, I thought it was going to be at least the end of the summer, right?
05:35Like at minimum.
05:36But to have it come down in like less than a month is crazy to me.
05:39And so I don't really know what it is, but I know the truth is that it's not here no
05:44more,
05:44unfortunately.
05:46But I will be making prints soon so at least people can have a history of this mural that's
05:52here and they can have it on their wall.
05:54On the Loose is an extremely talented artist.
05:57The art was amazing.
05:58The affinity gauntlet, I tell them to put it back up.
06:01Find another location where you're not going to have to deal with that same situation and
06:06put it back up.
06:06Or find a bigger location, put it back up and then add more to it just to show them you
06:12can't stop what's already in motion.
06:13The art is beautiful.
06:14The community deserves it.
06:16The community loves it.
06:17And at the same time, bro, do it for me.
06:20We artists.
06:21We all tied in together.
06:22We all getting featured at the same time doing everything together.
06:26The Knicks' impact on the city is huge.
06:29I mean, I feel like this whole summer, New York is just winning this whole summer.
06:33It's just like a big blue and orange energy.
06:35You go to events, you go to parades or big block parties or whatever, you see a lot of people.
06:40I've never seen it to where it's like that for eight blocks and then three avenues.
06:47That was insane.
06:48So it was a moment in time.
06:49And now that the art is here, I became a part of it.
06:52And it's something that I'll never forget.
06:54I know all summer, you're going to see more murals pop up.
06:57And people think the energy died.
06:59But if artists continue to paint, the energy never dies.
