00:00The back page reads today beyond the stars, OG Shamit outshine big names as the Knicks stop LeBron and company for their six straight W. That's right. Six wins in a row for the Knicks. And it wasn't about the stars. Usually at the Garden, you come out to see the stars. You had all stars out there. You had Jalen Brunson. You had Convy Towns named to the all-star team as a reserve on Sunday. Got Luka Doncic and LeBron James. But forget that. The Knicks reserves and role players in the starting lineup. They got it done.
00:29And Landry Shamit, he had 23 points. That was as much combined as you saw from Jalen Brunson and Carl Anthony Towns against the Lakers as the Knicks got that 112 to 100 victory over the Lakers. And look, Shamit has been tremendous offensively. He drilled six three-pointers in the contest. Also been really good on defense for the Knicks. And it wasn't just him. OG Ananobi led the way with 25 points. Josh Hart, he also chipped in with 20 points. OG and Josh, that's three straight games.
00:59In which they've scored 20-plus points each. So the Knicks role players, they are really stepping up. And these are the things you want to see from a team when they're playing good. You want to see everybody contributing. That's what the Knicks are getting right now. They're getting it on offense. They're getting it on defense as well, too. And look, you want to see this. You know when your stars don't have it. Jalen Brunson, off night for him. Four for 15 from the field. He did do a great job distributing the ball. You like to see that.
01:29After the game, Mike Brown talked about Landry Shamit and his impact and why he was so good.
01:35Landry's been impactful for us the entire season. Obviously, he was really good tonight. Shooting the ball, he was six for 10 from three.
01:45But like I said, not only has he shot it well this year, he's been very big for us defensively when he's been out on the floor and not with his versatility and his physicality and how hard he plays. So it's great to have him out there.
