The definition of Faith, Islam, Ihsan, and the Signs of the Hour.   Description:  Imagine sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ) when a man suddenly appears and begins asking the most fundamental questions of existence. In Sahih al-Bukhari 50, we witness this extraordinary event where the Angel Jibril (Gabriel) came in human form to teach the Ummah their religion.   This Hadith provides the "Table of Contents" for a Muslim’s life, moving from the internal heart to external limbs, and finally to spiritual perfection.   The Three Dimensions of Religion:       Iman (Faith): The internal foundation. Believing in Allah, His Angels, the Meeting with Him, His Messengers, and the Resurrection.       Islam (Submission): The external pillars. Worshipping Allah alone, performing Prayer (Salah), paying Zakat, and fasting Ramadan.       Ihsan (Excellence): The spiritual peak. Worshipping Allah as if you see Him; and if you cannot reach that state, knowing that He sees you.   The Signs of the Hour:  Jibril also asked about the Day of Judgment. The Prophet (ﷺ) replied that the timing is known only to Allah, but he gave two powerful portents (signs):       A slave girl giving birth to her master (social upheaval/changing roles).       Destitute shepherds competing in building tall, skyscraper-like buildings.   Key Lessons & Insights:       Religion is a Package: The Prophet (ﷺ) concluded by saying, "That was Jibril who came to teach the people their religion." This proves that "Religion" is not just prayer; it is a combination of belief, ritual, and spiritual awareness.       The Humility of Knowledge: When asked about the timing of the Hour, the Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "The answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner." This teaches us that saying "I don't know" is a sign of true knowledge. 00:00Narrated Abu Huraira. One day while the Prophet ﷺ was sitting in the company of some people,

00:07the angel Gabriel came and asked, What is faith? Allah's messenger ﷺ replied,

00:14Faith is to believe in Allah, his angels, the meeting with him, his apostles, and to believe

00:20in resurrection. Then he further asked, What is Islam? Allah's messenger ﷺ replied,

00:27To worship Allah alone and none else, to offer prayers perfectly, to pay the compulsory charity

00:33zakat, and to observe fasts during the month of Ramadan. Then he further asked, What is ihsan,

00:40perfection? Allah's messenger ﷺ replied, To worship Allah as if you see him, and if you cannot

00:47achieve this state of devotion, then you must consider that he is looking at you. Then he

00:51further asked, When will the hour be established? Allah's messenger ﷺ replied,

00:57The answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner, but I will inform you about its

01:01portents. One, when a slave lady gives birth to her master. Two, when the shepherds of black

01:07tamils start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher buildings. And the

01:12hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah. The Prophet ﷺ then recited,

01:18Verily, with Allah alone is the knowledge of the hour. 31-34. Then that man Gabriel left,

01:25and the Prophet ﷺ asked his companions to call him back, but they could not see him. Then the

01:31Prophet ﷺ said, That was Gabriel who came to teach the people their religion. Abu Abdullah said,

01:37He, the Prophet, considered all that as a part of faith.
