Is fasting just about staying hungry and thirsty? According to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), fasting is a spiritual laboratory designed to purify the believer. In Sahih al-Bukhari 38, we find the third great promise of total forgiveness.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."

The Invisible Worship: Unlike prayer or charity, fasting is a "hidden" act between the servant and Allah. This is why the Hadith emphasizes Sincere Faith and Ihtisab (seeking reward).
