00:00The commencement of the divine inspiration to Allah's messenger,
00:03Allahu alayhi wa sallam, was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright daylight.
00:09And then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him.
00:12He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira,
00:15where he used to worship Allahu alone,
00:18continuously for many days before his desire to see his family.
00:22He used to take with him the journey food for the stay,
00:25and then come back to his wife Khadijah to take his food likewise again,
00:30till suddenly the truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira.
00:35The angel came to him and asked him to read.
00:37The Prophet, Allahu alayhi wa sallam, replied,
00:40I do not know how to read.
00:42The Prophet, Allahu alayhi wa sallam, added,
00:44The angel caught me forcefully and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it anymore.
00:49He then released me and again asked me to read,
00:51and I replied, I do not know how to read.
00:54Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time,
00:57till I could not bear it anymore.
00:58He then released me and again asked me to read,
01:01but again I replied, I do not know how to read, or what shall I read?
01:06Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me,
01:09and then released me and said,
01:10Read in the name of your Lord, who has created all that exists,
01:14created man from a clot.
01:16Read, and your Lord is the most generous.

01:22Then, Allah's messenger, Allahu alayhi wa sallam, returned with the inspiration,
01:26and with his heart beating severely.
01:28Then he went to Khadija bint Qawai'lid and said,
01:31Cover me, cover me.
01:33They covered him till his fear was over,
01:35and after that he told her everything that had happened,
01:37and said, I fear that something may happen to me.
01:40Khadija replied,
01:41Never, by Allah, Allah will never disgrace you.
01:44You keep good relations with your kith and kin,
01:47help the poor and the destitute,
01:49serve your guests generously,
01:50and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones.
01:53Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin,
01:56Warika bin Nofal bin Asad bin Abdul Uzza,
01:58who, during the pre-Islamic period,
02:00became a Christian,
02:01and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters.
02:04He would write from the gospel in Hebrew
02:06as much as Allah wished him to write.
02:08He was an old man,
02:09and had lost his eyesight.
02:11Khadija said to Warika,
02:12Listen to the story of your nephew,
02:14O my cousin.
02:15Warika asked,
02:16O my nephew,
02:17what have you seen?
02:19Allah's messenger,
02:20described whatever he had seen.
02:22Warika said,
02:23This is the same one who keeps the secrets,
02:25Angel Gabriel,
02:26whom Allah had sent to Moses.
02:28I wish I were young and could live up to the time
02:30when your people would turn you out.
02:32Allah's messenger,
02:34Allahu alayhi wa sallam asked,
02:35Will they drive me out?
02:37Warika replied in the affirmative and said,
02:39Any one man who came with something similar
02:41to what you have brought
02:42was treated with hostility,
02:44and if I should remain alive
02:46till the day when you will be turned out,
02:47then I would support you strongly.
02:49But after a few days,
02:51Warika died,
02:52and the divine inspiration
02:53was also paused for a while.
