What exactly is "The Cloud" and how does it power our modern digital world? In this lecture, we demystify Cloud Computing

Instead of storing files and running programs on your local hard drive, cloud computing allows us to access computing services—including servers, storage, databases, and software—over the Internet. We break down the fundamental concepts, deployment types, and service models you need to know to score full marks in your board exams.

What we cover in this video:

What is Cloud Computing? The basic definition, transition from local storage, and core benefits.

The 3 Main Service Models: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).

Deployment Models: Public, Private, and Hybrid Clouds explained with everyday examples.

Advantages of Cloud Tech: Scalability, cost savings, flexibility, and disaster recovery.

Exam Prep Guide: Common long and short questions on cloud infrastructure.

This highly visual and example-driven lecture bridges the gap between everyday tech use and textbook computer science theory.

00:00Cloud computing is a technology model that provides access to computing resources and
00:05services over the internet, rather than owning and maintaining physical hardware and infrastructure.
00:11It has become a fundamental technology for businesses and individuals,
00:15offering scalability, cost-effectiveness, and rapid innovation.
00:19What makes it cloud? On-demand self-service. You can manage resources as needed without
00:25human intervention by providers. Broad network access. Services are accessible by various
00:31devices with internet connectivity. Resource pooling. Computing resources are shared to
00:37serve multiple customers and dynamically adjust to demand. Rapid elasticity. Resources scale up or
00:44down quickly to provide flexibility and cost efficiency. Measured service. Usage is monitored,
00:50controlled, and built based on actual usage. Security. Providers use encryption and identity
00:56management to protect your data. Cloud computing is categorized into three service models.
01:02Infrastructure as a Service, IaaS, delivers virtualized resources like virtual machines,
01:07storage, and networks. Platform as a Service, PaaS, offers a platform with tools and frameworks for
01:13application development. Software as a Service, SaaS, delivers software applications through the internet
01:19on a subscription basis. How the cloud is deployed depends on who uses it. Public cloud. Owned and
01:25operated by a third party and available to the general public. Private cloud. Used exclusively by a
01:31single organization for more control. Hybrid cloud. Combines elements of both public and private clouds,
01:37allowing data to be shared between them. Community cloud. Infrastructure shared by several
01:42organizations with common interests, such as regulatory requirements. Major providers like AWS,
01:48Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and IBM Cloud offer a massive range of these services. Whether you need
01:55machine learning, databases, or simple storage, the cloud is ready for you. Ready to move to the cloud?
