00:00We're going to start off by talking about the New York Yankees taking on the Pittsburgh Pirates
00:04tonight. This is a really good matchup because I think you have two teams here that are
00:08poised to maybe make some moves at the deadline and get to the postseason. So let's kind of catch
00:13you up, Tom, and catch me up here on this matchup here. The Yankees played the Dodgers twice
00:18yesterday. I don't ever love a team in that scenario having to play three games in approximately
00:2324 hours. That's number one. We also got information yesterday that Aaron Judge is not
00:28going to be back with the Yankees anytime soon. He hasn't started baseball activities. Meanwhile,
00:32the Pirates are starting to play a little bit better. We know they have the starting pitching.
00:36Do you have a lean or an opinion tonight as they open up a three-game set? Pirates right
00:41there in the National League wildcard, potentially, potentially with a chance to make the postseason,
00:46it feels like for the first time in a while. There are a few things that come to mind. I'll
00:52be honest. I have not bet this game in any capacity. No totals, no sides, no player props, nothing
00:57in this one. Number one, this is one of the best prices you'll ever get the Yankees at
01:01because when they're at home, they're often booked as very large favorites. But to that
01:06point, they're often not winning at home. This year, very simply, 24 and 22 when they're
01:10at home. They're barely above 500 at home. If you've been betting against them at home,
01:14you're probably coming out way ahead because, again, they're often booked as favorites.
01:18Looking to the Pirates, they're 25 and 24 away. So based on where the team is, the bullpen
01:24was a little bit stressed yesterday between the doubleheader. They're going into it today.
01:27You're getting plus money on an underdog that is playing pretty darn well and you're feeding
01:32a team that is just factually not performing at home. I would take the Pirates at plus
01:37money or I would pass. I would not lay with the Yankees. I would not play the total.
01:40I could see their offense falling flat and the Pirates scoring four. They win this game
01:44four to two. It sneaks under. But give me the Pirates at plus money.
01:48Yeah. And the interesting thing about the Pirates is that if you just went through their games
01:52this season, Tom, and bet them first five, you probably would have won a lot more than
01:56you would have lost in their bullpen that has really blown it a lot for them this season.
02:00And you'll wonder if that's something that they will attack over the next couple of weeks,
02:04but should be a good showdown here. You know, there's some comments today made,
02:08you know, social media popping around saying, you know, speculating that this is it for judge
02:12in terms of this season, meaning that maybe there's a chance he doesn't come back.
02:17You know, Tom, it's really hard to speculate on an injury, but you have to say that the update
02:21that we got was like a non-update at the very best, which is that you don't see him coming
02:27back anytime soon. I don't know. I'm starting to feel, Tom, that check back in September,
02:33have this guy go to AAA, see if he can get in a rehab assignment. If he feels good,
02:38you activate him to push for the postseason and get in. Beyond that, I mean, I hate to say it,
02:41but beyond that, you're taking a lot of risk with him getting hurt again before the postseason.
02:46Right. This, you put it best. It's like, it's just an update of an update. It's like,
02:50we'll update you when there's an update ready, which it amounts to nothing, right? You're just
02:54saying, oh, there's nothing new to report. We'll be back in a couple of weeks if there
02:57is something new to report. So it's just a giant nothing for me. And it just comes down to the
03:02timeline of him being ready, getting that rehab, you know, assignment in, you know, preferably I would
03:08like to see that. And then him being ready to go because he has to be ready to go. I'm
03:13going to say
03:14a darn near a hundred percent. And that's at least with hitting, that doesn't imply that he's going
03:18to be playing the field because they can say they bring him back and it's going to be a DH
03:21only role
03:22and they could DH him for half of September. And then he's working in, you know, working on the
03:26field in the, in the off time, you know, before games, then he's ready to play the field come
03:31October. So it's an update of an update, which means nothing.
