00:01fun team fun team to watch they had a spirit and an enthusiasm that was really kind of refreshing
00:08this team wrote the book on having fun we can always debate the greatest champions of all time
00:16and we've done a list of the greatest who never won a super bowl but these are the top 10
00:23teams
00:23that were the most fun to watch even though they didn't win at all you check the record books and
00:29you'd say well was there a trophy in there no but there were some really really amazing moments
00:36so if super bowl winners are out who makes the list well there are those cinderella squads who
00:43need miracles talk about miracles folks i do not believe this no expectations nobody thought they
00:49were going to do this the offensive displays not to be missed it was an out-of-control offense it
00:54was a
00:54show every single week the playful personalities i'm talking every game it's just fun and fan
01:00favorites who inspire song houston oilers houston oilers number one really deep lyrics and dance
01:09the icky shuffle i think people do that at the clubs the dirty birds they were fun because they
01:14had a stupid ass dance and teams that are just so fascinating you can't look away a little fumble
01:20that's the worst way to go is running to a butt a butt fumble was the worst man it's not

01:25you win or lose it's how you play the game these are the top 10 most fun teams ever

01:47that's pretty good
01:49in the decades between johnny unitas and anten manning the colts weren't having much fun
01:55well the 75 colts were the antithesis of the 50s and 60s colts with unitas people in baltimore
02:00couldn't get over johnny you get traded to the chargers burt jones was supposed to be the next
02:04golden child i didn't want to be the person that took johnny united's place rookie head coach ted
02:09marsha broda's baltimore colts rise and fall on the strong right arm of third year like in this
02:1625 seasons between united and manning the colts won two playoff games quarterback burt jones
02:26biggest turnaround in nfl history matter of fact in 74 we were 2 and 12 which was not a lot
02:33of fun
02:34and as the 1975 season began booze and cat calls echoed in a stadium where so brief a time before
02:43only cheers had been heard bird had been benched in 73 benched in 74 75 they stunk early in the
02:51season
02:51we won our first game and then we lost four games in a row and i'm going oh no here

03:01keep our boys throughout the game number two minutes how bad do we want to we were down in
03:06buffalo playing in buffalo against the great oj simpson oj had one 75 yard run where it looked
03:12like our players were running in place with a build resting comfortably on a 28 to 7 lead
03:18and relaxing as though the game were already won the colts suddenly exploded and produced the most
03:25astounding comeback of the season we end up beating buffalo and we never lost again until the playoff
03:32game we just having fun as a group and we call ourselves the shake and bake squad
03:40we played different positions but we've all had a middle linebackers mentality
03:47so what can i say we were nuts and we were young and crazy and actually loved each other garnering
03:55strength from each other in an on-field seance the colts were in control of their destiny 75 colts were
04:02hey what's the play call for all of news lido mitchell running the football hey diddle diddle
04:09lido up the middle
04:14roger car was fast as all could be a white guy flying down the field that was a very very
04:19yeah because because bob bros he's a scum lido mitchell was traded uh like a few years later

04:32everybody remembers the sack pack led by dutton and ermine i mean these guys were just fun to watch
04:38this is a football team that has stunned the football world the eastern division championship
04:43was all in the past but when we arrived in pittsburgh we'd be cooking with gas there's no question
04:49there's a lot of
04:49bake
04:52but our oven is set to shake and bake
04:55the most fun team is the team that wins at the end the colts got waxed by the steelers in
05:04the
05:04playoffs that wasn't fun watching terry bradshaw and franco harris it was fun right up until then
05:10like all the teams on our list the 1975 colts failed to win the super bowl but one of their
05:17assistant coaches would go on to win multiple rings mr negative bill belichick
05:23fun himself bill belichick made his coaching debut for our number 10 most fun team ever
05:31you'd be stunned how often he invokes the names of the 75 colts we had a pretty good team there
05:37pretty good young team especially the defensive line dutton ehrman burt jones roger carr so not only
05:43was it the first year coaching in the nfl for a great coach it was also indelible on his shaping
05:50his philosophy of you're never dead
05:52the 95 is coming to the name of that baby big dog are you serious no way the 98th alcons
05:59nor vikings make the list
06:00two fun teams that met in the 1998 nfc championship game just missed making our list
06:11it's like getting punched in the gut for viking fans
06:16after drafting randy moss and luring randall cunningham out of retirement the vikings broke
06:22the nfl record for most points in a season now it's going to get fun what a magical receiver that
06:28guy is when it comes to fun teams to watch the fact that the 1998 minnesota vikings did not make
06:35this list i think you need a new panel of people putting your list together hey i can't get no
06:40love
06:41in two seasons dan reeves turned the 3 and 13 falcons into nfc champions just a fun year and the
06:49dirty bird you know came in and all of a sudden the fans got behind us the dirty birds you
06:54know they
06:54were fun because they had a stupid ass dance it really looked bad we should have been one of the
06:59most fun teams of all time for a short time the dirty birds swept the nation our next fun team
07:06sparked a worldwide phenomenon what could be more fun than watching a third string underdog rise to
07:22playoff hero and global sensation i loved the 2011 broncos because every game they were awful in the
07:30first half and out of nowhere it just starts happening he looks terrible for three quarters
07:35figure it out man and they were just finding like the craziest ways to win we are rewriting the book
07:42oh keep fighting was it about them winning the games or their opponents losing the games because
07:47you look at mary and barber of the bears stepping out of bounds differ is without a timeout he's forced
07:52out of bounds what a dumb move by mary and barber teams are going out of their way to almost
07:57give games
07:58to the broncos i look back at that dolphins game they were up big and somehow they lose to the
08:02broncos tebow's gonna be in the end zone go ahead and explain this one the jets eric smith the safety
08:07taking some odd angle tebow goes in tebow escapes and he can run 25 20 tebow 15 inside the 10
08:14are you
08:15kidding a football game where only two passes were completed tebow throwing longer the near side for
08:23eric decker he's got him over the shoulder touchdown the second completion of the game for tim tebow
08:32you talk about wins
08:36what six of eight no no no seven of eight wins were by one possession six of eight were by
08:43five or less points
08:49stop with the broncos being the most fun ever i mean they're the least fun team ever he has fumbled
08:56now 13 times what are you doing why are the 2011 broncos on there because of tebow yeah pretty much
09:07tim tebow took over the sports world that year it was aggravating it was annoying it was infuriating
09:14nauseating when i went to bed i had nightmares about tim the crowd officially now has turned on tim
09:20the 2011 broncos came in at number nine on our list because they had one of the most improbable
09:31playoff victories and beat pittsburgh and that playoff game i remember where i was at when i
09:35watched that game i was sitting in uh with either chile's or fridays or bennegan's or it was one of
09:45those three because they're all the same damn thing and it was like eight tvs up man everybody was
09:49gluing to the tv man john elway is openly rooting against tim tebow when they win in 2011. got a
10:05good young man now yeah he did a good job john elway what does he do hey thanks for everything
10:11you're
10:11shafted they got rid of him because he just wasn't good peyton manning had an amazing 2012 he wins 11
10:18straight games to end the regular season but guess what tim tebow because it's the divisional
10:23round where'd peyton manning take the broncos the divisional round you can make the argument
10:34i don't think peyton manning in any way shape or form is just and i actually he didn't even win

10:41playoff game they got a bye and lost in the first round so he won less his first year
10:48of course peyton manning did other stuff later
10:54maybe the you know the physical tim tebow's a handsome guy like i'm not going to take that away
11:00from him our god is an awesome god he has that he always has that and god
11:14love you blue needs to be ranked a lot higher on this list
11:21love you blue was one of the most fun nfl teams you could possibly imagine the most embraceable
11:28team in houston sports history and you go back to the 1978 season there was no bigger team in the
11:34state
11:34of texas than the houston oilers i've never seen a team capture the imagination of the city of houston
11:40quite like the houston oilers
11:48add a song if you have a song you've made it all the kids when i was in school we
11:52all had to learn
11:53it now it's almost like the pledge of allegiance we had to learn the order fight songs very complicated
11:57lyrics houston has the oilers the greatest football team we take the ball from goal to goal like no one's
12:06ever seen the chorus went like this houston oilers houston oilers houston oilers number one really deep
12:15lyrics who doesn't remember that song i mean that's one of the best songs ever
12:22yeah unfortunately they never ended up number one they never even ended up number two because they
12:28didn't get to a super bowl our number eight most fun team ever was coached by the only man to
12:35wear a
12:35cowboy hat on the sidelines bum phillips any team that bum phillips coach could be called a fun team
12:42how much fun is a cowboy hat would any coach even come close to doing something like that today
12:48nobody's ever seen a coach wear a cowboy hat a hell of a character search for that all right
12:53that made a man reach and get it and bum was a master motivator the orchestrator of it all
13:02in 1978 everyone was tipping their hat to our number eight team's most fun player
13:09rookie of the year earl campbell earl campbell to this day is still the most popular athlete
13:17in state of texas touchdown earl campbell he was an absolute battering ram he basically was the
13:24offense they handed him the ball over and over and over again
13:33late 70s houston texas the old astrodome these cool 70s graphics going on the big jumbotron that
13:42monday night game against the dolphins where campbell went crazy and the love you blue signs were up in
13:48the pom-poms 70 000 blue pom-poms going you know that that's a fun team that's really cool that
13:58is a
13:58little image a little slice of americana right there the 1978 oilers finished the regular season at 10 and
14:05six and advanced all the way to the afc championship game where the fun came to an end against the
14:11eventual super bowl champion pittsburgh steelers most memorably when they lose the 34 to 5. that's
14:20bad the afc championship game to the pittsburgh steelers they sell out the astrodome for a losing
14:26pep rally i mean they lost the game and the fans didn't care 50 000 people came to the astrodome
14:33in the middle of the night to welcome the losers thousands upon thousands of people came out to
14:39greet this team and that's how the city felt about this team you wouldn't see that today they lost
14:51and they filled up the building i've never seen anything like it in my life i just wish we could
14:57have won four i don't know that a loser has ever been embraced more than the 1978 houston oilers
15:03when a team goes from worst to first it's always fun to watch the 1979 buccaneers were one of the
15:11first to do it but they just missed our list of the most fun teams ever this was a franchise
15:16coming
15:17into that year their fourth season had won seven games total seven and 37 you can't stop a pass or
15:23a
15:23run otherwise we're in great shape the funniest head coach in history was john mckay of those buccaneers
15:28not even close well we didn't block them well but we made up for it by not tackling john mckay
15:33was
15:33asked what do you think of your offense's execution his response i'm in favor of it there's been a lot
15:38of fun teams since them but considering how bad they were squeeze them into number 10 revisit that list
15:45sorry tampa the bucks stopped here it was another team from the sunshine state that made our list
15:59i don't know if there's a team that was more fun than the 84 dolphins marino's sipping passes like
16:05laser beams with the palm trees in the back and the sun shining shula on the sideline with the blue
16:12blockers marino with those flowing locks the afro the backwards hat that is 1980s miami i think kids
16:23in miami even grew out their hair to be like marino you wanted to be dan marino as soon as
16:29the game was
16:29over you went out in the yard you grabbed the football and you threw it around with your friends
16:33and you reenacted the game the best thing that year was the fact that we didn't know we were actually
16:40doing breaking records and making making just a ton of big plays we went out just firing the ball
16:50around and having fun the 84 dolphins made our list because dan marino was the first quarterback
16:59ever to pass for 5 000 yards this fun feat would not be achieved again for nearly a quarter century
17:07true breeze has just broken dan marino's single season passing yardage record that was set way
17:14back in 1984 now you put up 5 000 passing yards and you yarn in 84 that's completely revolutionary
17:21dan marino was a big reason why scoring changed in fantasy football because dan's throwing for all these
17:28yards you can't give fantasy points on the same scale to quarterbacks as you do to say a running
17:34back or a wide receiver so i would say that dan marino not only changed the nfl game he changed
17:39fantasy football scoring as well the thing that really excited me is that marino had people to
17:43throw to i mean those marks brothers my goodness deep pattern down the far corner it is jim
17:49block touchdown he's got mark duper dan marino's release is the quickest that we've ever seen
17:58perfectly thrown pass by dan marino and so watching that was like
18:09dan marino is pro football's ultimate weapon a highly charged mixture of charisma confidence and
18:16consummate skill
18:20our number seven most fun team ever lost to one of the best teams ever in super bowl 19.
18:27marino has to get something started or it might be the biggest blowout in super bowl history came to
18:33see an offense and the wrong one showed up joe montana has four more rings than dan marino but who
18:39was more fun to watch i loved watching dan marino was easily more fun to watch he had that swagger
18:47whereas
18:48you know montana who's more of a quiet confidence joe montana great quarterback but he was surrounded
18:53by better players this was dan marino winging on his own most of the time marino was more fun to
18:57watch because it was always a wild ride whenever you watched him he wasn't the consummate winner
19:02perhaps as joe montana was wasn't quite the comeback artist but in terms of just a pure passer
19:08who could fling it around there was no show quite as good as marino actually steve there are
19:13six ranked ahead of marino's bunch on our list and the team directly ahead of the 84 dolphins
19:19didn't exactly have an explosive passing offense
19:25the number six most fun team ever the 2012 new york can't that's new york jet but
19:32the butt fumble
19:34ball boys the teams on this list are fan favorites and our number six selection is no exception sure the
19:42new york faithful may disagree but many football fans and non-football fans found the 2012 jets
19:49incredibly fun to watch well i don't care how much fun they had i enjoyed watching them i can
19:54honestly say the 2012 jets it's the only time i've laughed out loud watching football
20:03it was hysterical you had a quarterback that people loved even though he wasn't playing in tim tebow
20:09you look at the stated jet quarterback situation why not give tebow a shot
20:14could he be any worse could be worse than sanchez is okay could you actually mark sanchez began the
20:21season by throwing for three touchdowns after hearing about everything that could possibly go wrong with
20:27this team from all of the so-called experts coming into opening day 48 to 28 is your final but
20:34sanchez had only
20:35oh he beat he beat the the bills that had the third worst defense in the league the previous season
20:47three three scores for the entire second half of the season to go along with 15 fun looking turnovers
20:57i never thought it could get worse it just did a horrible decision by sanchez oh my goodness
21:04i don't even know what they're doing they ain't even getting rid of them yet man i don't know why
21:08sanchez played i have no idea why he played the whole season but i think it may have something to
21:12do with
21:12the coach's tattoo everybody knows about the tattoo his wife is wearing the jersey yeah does that lock
21:19you does that lock you into starting position there's got to be something to do if things go wrong
21:24with your quarterback you're still with that tattoo if things go wrong with your wife
21:32it's as bad as it gets right there boy
21:39during a true thanksgiving classic our number six most fun team was blown out by 30 points
21:46and still managed to keep everyone glued to their televisions
21:50lost the football it picked up he ran right to the back of brandon moore are you kidding me
21:55but fumble one of the most infinitely watchable plays in nfl history yeah i love the butt fumble
22:02i wonder if they practice that i have never seen this before in my life you know if you're gonna
22:07fumble that's the worst way to go it's running to you a butt butt fumbles are the worst man that's
22:13one of those replays that people play over and over again it's like there's a brooder film back to
22:17the left back to the left head hits the button head hits the button there's the button here's the head
22:24head head plus blot equals fumble horrible train wreck right people use that term all the time
22:31it was a train wreck but how many people have actually seen a damn train wreck but if you was
22:37going to put something in the category of a train wreck it was that jets team last year total train
22:43wreck
22:432012 jets just a treasure an american relic we'll always look back on them as one of the great treats
22:49that our society was given and now the number five most monkey ever the 1980 deep and broad
22:56number five i don't think there's been a team more loved than the cardiac kids in cleveland
23:05that was just one magical season i don't know if you could duplicate that year after year
23:14that's one of my favorite teams of all time i was 20 years old 21 years of age and just
23:18getting
23:19into the football theme and they're scoring two touchdowns in the fourth quarter all these games
23:22you didn't want to miss a minute of any game that the cleveland browns played in especially
23:27the last two minutes to do some man another cardiac finish
23:37the 1980 browns came out of nowhere this was a team that was in one of the toughest divisions in
23:44the nfl the afc central had had both teams in the afc championship game two years in a row the
23:511980
23:51cleveland browns finished first in their division but it was their dramatic finishes which made them
23:58our number five most fun team ever they won eight or nine games by seven points or less
24:06they won five games by three points or less and the cardiac kids are at work today they lost three
24:13or four games by three points or less so there isn't a better description of a football team
24:20then the cardiac kids was almost expected every sunday browns would go ahead in the fourth
24:25quarter and win the game and they would win it in dramatic fashion you didn't want to go to the
24:31bathroom you didn't want to go get a snack you didn't want to do anything but sit in front of
24:35your tv
24:36whether you were rooting for the browns or your team was playing against the browns in 1980 there was
24:41just that one they were nine and three in one possession games 12 of 16 games 12 of the last

24:49actually are they gonna do this time quarterbacking the offense for the cardiac kids was the nfl's most
24:55valuable player of 1980 brian site brian site that year was as good as any quarterback in the national
25:01football league site was fun you know he wasn't your prototypical big arm great quarterback he was
25:06sort of an unheralded guy he had such a rapport with his receivers such a a chemistry
25:14sam retigliano was the perfect coach for that team come on baby one time one time baby one time
25:26the browns hosted their first playoff game in nine years on a bitterly cold day in cleveland
25:33don cockroff had missed two field goals that day the wind thank you for pointing it out
25:39coming off of lake erie was swirling and blowing and so sam retigliano said you know what i don't
25:46trust my kicker it was second down and the brown if you have a choice between an mvp quarterback
25:56and a kicker you take the mvp quarterback on every time or you're an idiot
26:29downs were down by only two points instead of playing for the field goal
26:30it was an exciting season that ended in cardiac kids agony years after fans look at that year
26:38as it was the greatest year even though it ended as badly as it did raiders raiders should have been
26:50were thought to be thugs and criminals and they should have been thrown in jail but they
26:56made the cardiac kids cardiac arrest
27:05the number four most fun team ever the 1989 green bay pack
27:11i wouldn't have in the top 20 i thought they were mediocre i loved the don mcowski magic man 89

27:20the magic man packers electrified green bay fans in 1989 you want to talk about a team
27:26that captured the imagination of young kids in wisconsin this guy and that team were so exciting
27:33just because they didn't know how to win a game like they won a lot of games but they didn't
27:37know how
27:37they did it for a team that missed the playoffs it was one of the most exciting teams ever
27:45this team was so fun
27:51because his magic kind of blew up mcowski had it all going on with that blonde mullet of his he
27:56could
27:56not come up short in a big moment think about don mcowski's hair you know i had this
28:01the 80s mullet going it's like a buzz cut kind of mullet type thing where it's short of the side
28:08spiky on top long flowing behind him he's got the eye black magic was fantastic in his own very
28:16different way it was like watching a guy in a street game it wasn't elegant what a play by mcowski
28:25the boy was it fun what made the 1989 packers so much fun was the team chemistry great chemistry
28:33between magic and sharp mcowski and sharp connected for over 1400 yards and 12 touchdowns earning them
28:41pro bowl appearances for 1989. over the middle touchdown to starling sharp
28:53my nickname magic uh really took off in the 89 season because of all these these magical
29:00comes from behind victories absurd comebacks over and over and over again that season like
29:05they were always behind at the last minute and they pulled out a bunch of exciting victories
29:08wow what a great second pass but mcowski has done everything right and the packers have taken a
29:14lead with a minute 26 to go there was a tampa bay game i remember in tampa where we were
29:18down by two
29:19points with less than a minute to go on our own 20 yard line we were driving the ball downfield
29:24and
29:24we were faced with a fourth and i believe 15 and i threw an incomplete pass but we had a
29:30defensive
29:30hands-to-the-face personal foul that gave us an automatic first down which kept the drive alive
29:35lucky things that just went our way that year we had this rookie kicker that year chris jackie
29:40i've heard of him yeah i got i have one question why did you need a last second field goal
29:48to beat
29:49the bucks of that era maybe they really weren't that good just the buccaneers of the 80s with one
29:57second ago he kicked a 57-yard field goal and we beat tampa they gave you a cardiac arrest almost
30:07every weekend it's a special team when one of their wins has an asterisk in it my most famous game
30:17that
30:17i'm known for was the 1989 instant replay game against the chicago bears our number four most fun
30:25team ever wouldn't be complete without a magic finish by the magic man himself fourth and goal from
30:31the 14th when i was in the shotgun i i immediately kind of aborted the play and just immediately started
30:37scrambling rolling all the way out to the right getting real close to the sideline and the line
30:42of scrimmage you know i threw a ball across my body but the referees had uh throw a flag saying
30:52that i was over the line of scrimmage after four minutes of reviewing these famous words uh everybody
30:59always still comes up to me and says after further review we have a reversal touchdown
31:04and man that place went nuts the 89 bears still do not recognize when the packers beat them there's
31:13an asterisk in the media guy i mean that's special i think it's ranked number four or five is one
31:18of
31:18the most memorable games in lambo field i mean to this day when i still go back the people tell
31:24me that
31:24that was the most fun season that they they really had as a packer fan and it's that's that's hard
31:30to
31:30imagine bears of that on that team are cry babies you know why they lost to them worse the next
31:39time
31:39they faced them in chicago they didn't they didn't they didn't get beaten because of a referee they got
31:46beaten because they were not as good a team not anybody didn't even make the playoffs you left the san
31:55diego chargers of the early 80s off the most fun teams list what's wrong with you people the
32:02chargers led the nfl in passing yards for five consecutive years this is a major omission of
32:08all the fun teams i can't fathom why you would not have the air correal charges involved they
32:14revolutionized the passing air correal won three straight division titles in the early 80s
32:19this was an offense for the ages revolutionizing 300 yard passing games
32:26this list is restricted to one magical year sorry lightning bolts you had too much pixie dust
32:38how did the 1978 eagles go on that list that team was a lot of fun because they had so
32:45many years of
32:46just horrible horrible football team
32:51it had been almost two decades when the eagles just flat out didn't matter
32:57shane the last playoff appearance was 1960. the 1978 philadelphia eagles posted their first
33:07winning season in 18 years and earned a place as our number three most fun team ever
33:17it was a fun team especially with jaws was the quarterback and you know we had harold and wilbert
33:24was running all over the place they weren't like an nfl team in a lot of ways they had a
33:28spirit and
33:29enthusiasm that was really kind of refreshing getting ready to hit this was just a young likable
33:38exciting kind of football team that was being coached by a young likable and excited head coach
33:53our number three most fun team was made famous by a game known as the miracle at the middlelands
34:00under 30 seconds left of the game from here on in bizarczyk can just fall on the football and
34:06there is nothing the eagles can do everybody's screaming kneel down kneel down he said no coach
34:11does give it to zonk and zonk just wasn't prepared to don't blame zonka
34:17blame the idiot head coach
34:20what is it john mcveigh take the ball and the zonk just stumbles the football it's picked up by
34:27herm edwards that made herm edwards a star
34:34i don't believe it i don't believe it hey herm that made you a star because you just fell into
34:40it
34:40the ball just bounced right up to you when they were stupid number one in stupidity to not just
34:46kneel on the ball talk about miracles folks i do not believe this one but it has happened with the
34:52eagles beat the giants 19 to 17 before a shock crowd at the middleman i remember sitting there
35:00watching that screaming at the tv what the heck are you doing taking the ego home it's the eagles you
35:08hate the eagles miraculous victory but the same couldn't be said for their roster it was in that game
35:15that the regular place kicker nick mickamire was injured and they finished out the game with mike
35:23michelle who was their punter doing the place kicking and he was going to be both the kicker
35:26and the punter and everybody warned him you don't really want to do this when they got to the post
35:30season and they got to the game in atlanta uh it really came back and bit them michelle missed a
35:37p-a-t and then at the end when he had what amounted to really just a chip shot field
35:43goal
35:43to win the game he missed the eagles were out of the playoffs but they were finally winners again
36:04that's the first time the eagles made the playoffs and i don't know how many years and i was a
36:09part of
36:09that which was pretty cool you're not eligible for this list that would be too easy plus those
36:17teams already have their fun so sorry fun buds and our bad 85 bears i don't know what you're thinking
36:24the 85 bears it's like the epitome of fun this is like you made a list of the greatest rock
36:36bands of
36:36all time and guess what you forgot the beatles it's one of the most egregious mistakes uh they don't
36:43know the criteria it's in the history of the top 10 programs the super bowl shuffle doesn't fit the
36:50criteria for our list fred not fun fans the icky shuffle does the number two most broadest game ever
36:59the 1988 cincinnati bang we had a great time in 1988 because we had such a miserable time in 1987.
