00:04you can call it a collapse but there is a much more common phrase
00:15this is a list of teams that started way ahead of the pack
00:22we're seven and two how are we eight and two we are nine and two and miss the playoffs entirely
00:28you know what you guys are joking we're counting down the most glorious single season collapses
00:34in nfl history there's a lot of things that are involved in a collapse is a reality setting in
00:39yes no is it luck that ran out is it injured mvp candidate fred jackson knocked out of the line
00:49all of those things factor in our list begins in texas where even collapses are bigger they were
00:55going to collapse and i'm like take your time the number 10 collapse of all time the 2008 cowboys
01:06that's number 10 on the list that should be number one on the list anything involving the
01:10dallas cowboys and collapse is like christmas for the rest of the nation
01:21i think they started to believe that they were the most talented team we're the best on three one two
01:26three we're the best they were sitting there at eight and four uh with four games to go
01:36everyone has a theory as to why such a talented team ended up on our list of greatest collapses
01:42oh no they don't belong on that list the punter got hurt for my money was as good a punter
01:48as it was
01:54things are just too easy for them they go out at night they stay out in these clubs and stuff
02:00they have
02:00girls i blame jessica simpson for the cowboys collapse i don't even know if they were together
02:04at that moment no they could maybe have not been together but remember when she came to the stadium
02:08and wore like the pink jersey i'm like you're ruining football you're ruining everything
02:14they lost their final game at texas stadium texas stadium yes famous for the hole in the roof
02:21but tonight there is a hole in the heart of nearly every cowboys fan you guys are just sprinting down
02:26the field and all the cowboys legends were there and you could just see you guys going
02:30what did i just watch we were so disappointed that we couldn't have put the icing on this game tonight
02:39i think what really solidifies this or puts this in the discussion why it's a top 10 collapse is
02:44the loss at philadelphia somebody gotta go home today and it ain't gonna be the cowboys
02:48everything was on the line they got to be 44 to 6 they just folded like an eight dollar suit
02:54in a
02:55range pool i mean it was terrible he's hit it's fumble it was awful the birds are purring the cowboys
03:02they didn't even show up they didn't even get off the bus it's embarrassing stop the fight somebody
03:07stop the fight you see those guys go through december and just fail we were glad when we had
03:13to play those guys because we knew that this team will collapse the 2008 cowboys went from eight and
03:20four to nine and seven to become our number ten collapse i'm a fan of wade philips but at times
03:27you
03:27have to take control of your team it was really obvious there was a schism in that locker room
03:31the terrell owens side and the tony romo side how much things have changed in a single season you
03:37have to crying about tony romo it's my quarterback they're calling themselves batman and robin well
03:44somewhere the penguin and joker got involved because clearly these guys were at odds to be fair
03:49to the 2008 cowboys they did play um in their last four losses their last four games
04:03the steelers who went on to be super bowl champions giants who were defending super bowl champions
04:08and the ravens and eagles who were in the afc and mc championship game that's a tough stretch
04:20coming up the number nine collapse of all time the 2000 jets top 10 trivia time who coached the
04:302000 jets all right let me take a shot it was it parcels uh what if i say rich coat
04:38tight would i be
04:39correct uh it's not don shula i know that much who coached that team i think it was pete carroll
04:47uh who was it then oh boy i think it was the guy who played coach on the sitcom coach
04:56great t nelson yeah that's what it was great great nelson which they never should have let him coach
05:00that team that was a fake coach and he doesn't know anything you know who was it all right i
05:06give up
05:08i give up who was the coach yeah was that al grow what a mess oh al grow al grow
05:16geez that's right
05:18al grow had a job who hired al grow really i guess i was between parcels and her med words
05:25kind of like a flip on the screen
05:30well that was the year that parcels stepped down and they named belichick to coach for an hour or so
05:36i decided to resign as the head coach of the new york jets and then he basically decided that he's
05:41going to new england long time parcels assistant al grow got the job and his jets got off to a
05:48fast start
05:5099 benny towards achilles first game that season didn't work out so 2000 everybody's healthy
05:55he started great he started really good we got a team trying to prove everybody wrong or trying
06:02to prove bill belichick wrong with 155 to go in the game the jets have the lead we had came
06:09out of the
06:09gate strong and made won some games especially close at the end monday night miracle was obviously
06:15one of those games
06:22i think that took a lot out of us and then uh you know wheels fell off he just couldn't
06:27do anything
06:28right after that
06:31the 2000 jets they won four of those first six games by four points or fewer
06:37luck can always turn on you clutch performance is a cruel mistress
06:42luck turned on the jets after their six and one start with three games left they needed a win to
06:48get in a loss in oakland was followed by a home loss to detroit
06:54it's not good it never had a chance and they go to play the ravens in baltimore
07:01they started six and one and lost three consecutive games by one possession they won one or two there
07:09they would have already been
07:1310 and three 11 and two they're already in the playoffs
07:19after two losses the jets can still get in with a win
07:23i think we started off pretty good in our game we put it on a special no huddle
07:27offense to go against that monster defense and had success
07:35the jets have the ball late in the first half they're driving again
07:39then he gets picked off by the goal line by chris mccallister who proceeds to go about 95 yards for
07:45a
07:45touchdown and then the floodgates open jermaine lewis returns a couple punts in his game for
07:53touchdowns in the second half jermaine lewis just ended the jet season another jet collapse
08:00nine and seven no players
08:04what's for super bowl three you trash cans
08:07that was a some searing pain even for jets fans
08:11the pain was temporary for the author of our number nine collapse
08:16now gross says yeah i'm out of here i'm going into university of virginia to be the head coach
08:21he couldn't wait to get out of new york
08:23that team just folded up that was a terrible terrible collapse
08:27but either it happens at least we're not a number one
08:30i think that should be way higher
08:34the jets they've cornered the market on collapses
08:39the number eight collapse of all time
08:41the 2008 jets
08:45in 2008 new york saw one of the greatest financial collapses in our nation's history
08:51thankfully red fog's broadway breakdown provided a much needed distraction
08:56you never got the sense that far wanted to be in new york it never just seemed right
09:01in that first press conference where he's got that i don't know what i'm doing here look on his face
09:06but okay let's try this
09:07what a disaster what a disaster
09:10what a disaster
09:12here's a year number one where tom brady's out of the picture
09:15brady's down and he's in pain
09:17it's opened up now for the jets
09:19there's the big play strike
09:21and the reason the jets got brett barb
09:24you're a jet fan you're eight and three you're plumped up
09:26everybody's having a good time
09:34this team looks super bowl ready
09:36they were clearly the class of the afc
09:38brett barb with his sixth touchdown pass
09:42i felt at one time in that year we were pretty good
09:44because when we beat a good new england team
09:46the jets survived
09:48and win in foxborough in overtime
09:50and the jets are in first place in the afc east
09:54they beat the titans who were 10-0 at the time
09:55so they knocked in from the undefeated ranks
09:57it's in and one
09:58it's in and one
10:02after the tennessee game
10:04they fell off a cliff
10:07that's right scott
10:08brett farb did wiley coyote proud
10:10the jets built an eight and three cliff
10:12and crash landed at nine and seven
10:15to become our number eight collapse
10:19didn't even make the playoffs
10:20and the whole thing was a big giant cluster for l
10:23that's what it was
10:24brett farb being the gamer that he is
10:26tried to play through injury
10:28and he just wasn't physically capable
10:30his throws were kind of getting weaker and weaker
10:32and the jets chances were fading
10:34and then the ultimate insult
10:36was to have chad pennington beat them
10:38at the end of the season
10:42farb
10:43pennington's the guy they got rid of
10:44to bring farb there
10:46it's poetic justice
10:48pennington's the guy they kicked to the curb
10:49to bring in farb
10:50so that's about as bad as it gets
10:52this ball's gonna go right here
10:54and then it's going back
10:55the thing that makes collapses memorable
11:02is what does it do to the team
11:03well that one farb was a one-and-done player
11:06eric mangini got fired
11:07you're gonna title up a genius
11:09you go up there and you be a damn genius
11:11make it happen
11:12win this damn game
11:13dude you don't collapse
11:14brett farb
11:15he should've never came back
11:16right
11:16should've sat down
11:19sit down
11:19the last thing the planet needed
11:21was brett farb in the playoffs
11:22so i think god intervened
11:24and he's got other things to do
11:26but in this case he stepped in and said
11:27we can't have this guy back in the playoffs
11:29in new york
11:30they're never gonna hit the end of it
11:31huh
11:32we always say that
11:34they're gonna make it tough for the Raiders
11:35so they try to make it tougher and tougher
11:37so that we wouldn't have a chance
11:41sorry about that
11:41hold on
11:42oh by the way
11:43in that five game stretch
11:44the Jets went
11:46one and four in
11:49farb through two touchdowns
11:51nine interceptions
11:53after
11:56just
11:56not even being close to
11:58that terrible
12:00the entire season
12:04teams that move
12:05seem to have
12:06some bad juju
12:09well 1995 started hot
12:11the Browns were good early on
12:13and then all of a sudden
12:14the roof came down
12:16after Art Modell announced
12:18the Browns would be moving
12:19playoff aspirations
12:21died with the fans
12:22Cleveland lost
12:23seven of their last
12:25eight games
12:26it's our house
12:27played a house of pain
12:28all day long
12:31the 1996 Oilers
12:33started five and two
12:34in their final season
12:35in Houston
12:36but lost six of nine
12:38to bid Texas farewell
12:39including their last
12:40five home games
12:42it's so great to be back home
12:44in St. Louis
12:45the 94 Rams
12:47left Los Angeles
12:48on a seven game losing streak
12:50the following year
12:51they collapsed in St. Louis
12:53losing eight of ten
12:54after a five and one start
12:56same old Rams
12:58new city
12:58same old
12:59same old
13:00sorry ass man
13:01that same year
13:03the Raiders returned to Oakland
13:04and started eight and two
13:05they lost their last six
13:08to miss the playoffs
13:09Raider pride
13:11one two three
13:12but it was another Raiders team
13:14that cracks our list
13:16at number seven
13:18the number seven collapse
13:19of all time
13:20the 1986 Raiders
13:24today the Coliseum tenants
13:26are the Los Angeles Raiders
13:28formerly that team
13:29from Oakland
13:30we came to Los Angeles
13:311982
13:32we were pretty darn good
13:33you know
13:34I got in the playoffs
13:35each and every year
13:35that I was there
13:36they won the championship
13:37there
13:38they were good
13:39they were pretty good
13:39in the NFL
13:40just win David
13:44the Raiders currently sport
13:46an uncharacteristic
13:480-2 mark
13:49and are all alone
13:50in the AFC West
13:51cellar
13:52we got up to a slow start
13:53in the AFC
13:53I know going into that season
13:55we were projected
13:57to be really good
13:58when we started out
14:00with 0-3
14:02their three losses
14:04came to the Broncos
14:05Redskins
14:06and Giants
14:07perhaps the three best teams
14:09in the NFL
14:09that year
14:10no surprise
14:11the Raiders
14:12cried foul
14:13well Mr. Davis
14:14always had that
14:15conspiracy theory going
14:16he always had his complaints
14:18about the way
14:19they stacked our schedule
14:20we always say
14:21that
14:22they're going to make it
14:23tough for the Raiders
14:24so they try to make it
14:25tougher and tougher
14:25so that we wouldn't
14:27have a chance
14:28sometimes it certainly
14:29felt that way
14:29quite naturally
14:30you will say
14:31it's a conspiracy
14:36we were struggling
14:37a little bit
14:37with Mark Wilson
14:38and forcing up
14:40Plunkett
14:40was on the team
14:41why were they
14:43even starting
14:44Mark Wilson
14:44he was terrible
14:47even with that
14:48great team
14:48they lost to
14:50Washington
14:51by four points
14:52he threw
14:53no touchdowns
14:54through interceptions
14:55they lost to Denver
14:56by 11 points
15:00one touchdown
15:01four interceptions
15:03they won those
15:05two games
15:07we're not having
15:08the conversation
15:12that okay
15:13we may have a shot
15:14you know
15:15with Plunkett
15:15coming in
15:16I think people
15:16looked at Jim Plunkett
15:18as a savior
15:18once again
15:19Jim Plunkett
15:20had risen from
15:21the ashes
15:22in 1980 and
15:2383
15:24after leading
15:25the Raiders
15:26to eight wins
15:26in nine games
15:27it looked like
15:28it would happen
15:29again
15:31his Phoenix rise
15:32was pretty incredible
15:33you know
15:34a guy that was
15:34pretty much
15:34written off
15:35and he'll never
15:35play again
15:36and then he comes
15:36back and leads
15:37these guys to
15:37Super Bowls
15:38so when he starts
15:39doing things like that
15:40you go okay
15:41the precedent is there
15:42got back into the race
15:44got back into the hunt
15:45we were feeling
15:46pretty good about ourselves
15:47we know what has to be done
15:48and we know how to do it
15:49getting to eight and four
15:51after starting
15:52all in three
15:53is a great accomplishment
15:56holy Toledo
15:57what a play
15:59finishing the season
16:01the way we did
16:02was what sealed the deal
16:08the Raiders
16:08started out
16:09they were 0-3
16:10I think the Broncos
16:11had left them
16:12for dead
16:12but they gradually
16:13battled their way
16:14back in
16:15I think it shows
16:16they're a good team
16:16under adversity
16:18we're playing Philadelphia
16:19at home
16:20and off to Allen
16:21he fumbles
16:21and we were going in
16:23for the win
16:23in overtime
16:24and we fumbled
16:26the football
16:26the most astounding
16:28turn of faith
16:30but that pretty much
16:31broke our spirits
16:32that was a tough loss
16:33they were a 3-9 team
16:37with the worst
16:39one of the worst
16:40offensive lines
16:40of all time
16:41the quarterbacks
16:42got set
16:4372 times
16:45the quarterback
16:46got set
16:47over 100 times
16:49you can't beat
16:50an Eagles team
16:51that has those records
16:54they just
16:55never got off the mat
16:56from that
16:57that loss
16:58to the Philadelphia Eagles
16:59I tell my close friends
17:00I felt like quitting
17:01after that game
17:02it just
17:03just graved me
17:04it just took it all
17:04out of me
17:07despite losing
17:0937-0
17:10to Seattle
17:10the next week
17:11our number 7
17:12collapse
17:13still had a chance
17:14to salvage
17:15a playoff spot
17:16in a week 15
17:17game
17:18versus Kansas City
17:19first carry of the game
17:21Marcus Allen fumbles
17:22it tells you right there
17:24that even if the star player
17:26is folding under pressure
17:27then the entire team
17:29is going to collapse with it
17:31Allen fumbled on
17:32two of his first three touches
17:34and the Raiders
17:35turned it over
17:36seven times total
17:37in a crushing loss
17:40that was the game
17:41that you just
17:42put your head down
17:43in shame
17:43when you walked off
17:44to feel like
17:45what was that
17:47to drop four games
17:48in the NFL
17:49back to back to back
17:50after you have had
17:51a win streak going
17:53yeah that's
17:54that's making
17:54I can't imagine
17:56too many Raiders players
17:57want to make eye contact
17:58with Al Davis
17:59after that type of collapse
18:00really
18:01the number 6
18:02collapse of all time
18:03the 1978 Redskins
18:07when the over the hill
18:09game got a little
18:10too over the hill
18:11former Redskins
18:12linebacker Jack Pardee
18:13took over for
18:14George Allen
18:15as head coach
18:16defense hold
18:17them offense
18:18bail possession
18:18begin with
18:19his first move
18:21was to name
18:21Joe Theismann
18:22the starting quarterback
18:24it was the opportunity
18:25I had been looking for
18:26I returned punts
18:27my first two years
18:28the last two
18:29I sat 76 and 77
18:31and in 78
18:32Jack Pardee
18:32gave me the opportunity
18:33to be the starting quarterback
18:34and they started out
18:35really well for us
18:36the over the hill
18:37gang was picked
18:38to roll down the hill
18:39instead they reached
18:41the peak under
18:41flashy quarterback
18:42Joe Theismann
18:46they started off
18:486-0
18:48and everybody said
18:49here we go
18:50it was like
18:51we're going to win
18:52the Super Bowl
18:52we're not going to
18:53lose again
18:53I think they might have
18:55at 6-0
18:55thought they were
18:57better than they were
18:57a team that won
18:586 games in a row
18:59you know the players
19:00were thinking
19:00they were pretty good
19:01they were getting
19:02Super Bowl visions
19:03Jack Pardee was
19:05I thought they were
19:06carving his bust
19:07in Canton
19:08tonight's spectators
19:09including President Carter
19:11have to be impressed
19:12by Jack Pardee's team
19:13the peak of party mania
19:16was a slim 9-5 victory
19:18over the defending
19:19Super Bowl champions
19:20and the Cowboys
19:22got pissed
19:23the next time they met
19:24it was no contest
19:26Dallas crushed
19:27I don't know how many
19:28Cowboys hit me
19:29I mean they just
19:30they blew me up
19:31I'll never forget
19:32land in Texas
19:33Stadium
19:34and Randy White
19:35walks over
19:36and he looks at me
19:36says you're right
19:37stupid macho Joe
19:39I go
19:39yeah
19:40I'll be back
19:41and he just looked at me
19:42and he went
19:43good
19:43well Randy White
19:46would regret that
19:47by 1982
19:48but
19:49losing an earlier
19:50matchup with Washington
19:51revenge belonged
19:53to Dallas
19:56after Theisman threw
19:57five interceptions
19:58and back-to-back losses
20:00the collapse
20:01was on
20:01Jack Pardee's
20:03player first mentality
20:04wore thin
20:05and the 78 skins
20:07finished 8-8
20:08Jack wanted players
20:09to discipline themselves
20:10to play
20:11to be like him
20:13Jack Pardee
20:14wore number 32
20:15when he played
20:16yeah he played well
20:17Jack was a player
20:18and the players
20:19related to him
20:19as a player
20:20not as a head coach
20:21and a lot of the players
20:23took advantage of that
20:23Washington choked
20:24Washington choked
20:25Washington choked
20:29the 78 skins
20:30were the first team
20:31to start 6-0
20:32and miss the playoffs
20:34but our number 6
20:35collapse
20:36did have a silver lining
20:37that's when some
20:38of the new leaders
20:39started coming out
20:40on the Redskins
20:40being able to deal
20:41with success
20:42is probably the most
20:43difficult thing
20:44that people have
20:45a problem with
20:46they fell apart
20:46and they had to
20:47regroup
20:48and eventually
20:49they became
20:50a very dominant team
20:51for the first time
20:52in 1942
20:53the Washington Redskins
20:55have an NFL championship
20:57Super Bowls
20:58up next
21:01one Hall of Fame
21:02the 1987 Chargers
21:04I didn't even know
21:06we would be the top 5
21:07there had to be some
21:08other that were
21:08more dramatic than that
21:09sorry Al
21:11going from 8-1
21:12to missing the playoffs
21:13gets you a spot
21:14in the top 5
21:15but we're not
21:16blaming you
21:18when Al Saunders
21:19came into the NFL
21:20as head coach
21:21in 1987
21:23this was the strike
21:24year
21:24so this was
21:26not a great year
21:27for a guy to come in
21:28and say
21:29you know
21:29I'm in charge
21:30we started off
21:31last season
21:31we lost the first game
21:32and then we won
21:33the second game
21:34and then the strike
21:35took place
21:35it was an interesting
21:40time
21:45they won three
21:46replacement games
21:47and they didn't just
21:48win those replacement
21:49games
21:49but they won them
21:50by scores like
21:5110-9
21:52and 17-13
21:54who are these guys
21:55the scab players
21:57playing scab games
21:58and any records
21:59that they set
22:00I'm sure they're
22:01proud of them
22:03we didn't pay a lot
22:04of attention
22:04to what was going on
22:05when you buy
22:06NFL football
22:07you buy
22:08prime rib
22:09you don't expect
22:10to be served
22:11hot dogs
22:11we played some
22:12good football
22:14we were the only team
22:15to win all three games
22:16and had the Chargers
22:17poised to make a run
22:19when we ended up
22:20at a 4-1 point
22:21after the strike
22:22we felt really good
22:29we practiced as a team
22:30we had game plans
22:31for each week
22:33as to which opponent
22:34we were going to play
22:34once the strike was over
22:36I think we were probably
22:37a little bit more ready
22:38to play
22:38than most of the teams
22:39we played
22:40the Chargers returned
22:41from the strike
22:42to win four
22:43three
22:44at 8-1
22:45yeah you feel pretty good
22:46I think it was
22:46a little bit of a mirage
22:49this is a team
22:50that was getting lucky
22:51in some of the most
22:52unusual circumstances
22:53in NFL history
22:54I think that padded
22:55their numbers a little bit
22:56this was probably
22:58the most overrated
22:598-1 team in history
23:02probably
23:041987
23:05Jack Murphy Stadium
23:06San Diego
23:06is hosting the Super Bowl
23:08so we should have
23:09saw the collapse
23:09coming just from that
23:11it's a total jinx
23:12you never make the Super Bowl
23:13when you're actually
23:14hosting it
23:15Super Bowl dream
23:18games were dashed
23:19by six straight losses
23:20to end the year
23:22it also marked
23:23the end of the careers
23:24for both Dan Fouts
23:25and Kevin Winslow
23:27in a lot of ways
23:28it sums up their careers
23:29you know
23:30what a way to have it end
23:31especially for
23:32two players
23:33that were that productive
23:34that brought as much
23:35as they did to the game
23:37you hate to see it
23:38end that way for them
23:39run out of the break
23:39run out of the break
23:40tippy tore like a
23:42they should have been
23:45in the postseason
23:46getting off of that
23:47great start
23:48very sad
23:49to see a team
23:51just totally
23:51coming in
23:53and glued at the scene
23:55if your staff team
23:56goes 3-0
23:57at least the veterans
23:58can do
23:59pick up where they left off
24:00maybe they should have
24:01looked the vets on the side
24:02let the replacement guys
24:04come back
24:04and finish the scene
24:05what the stats guy
24:07Mike Tanir said
24:08is completely accurate
24:10this may have been
24:12the most overrated
24:13Aiden Wood team
24:14of all time
24:14and maybe the worst
24:15team with a winning
24:17record all time
24:19they won
24:206 of their 8 games
24:22by 5 or less points
24:237 total
24:24by less than
24:25touchdown
24:27had a winning record
24:28but a negative
24:2964
24:30point differential
24:32their average win
24:33was by 5.5 points
24:36average loss
24:41was by 15 and a half
24:44that's pretty terrible
24:52the number 4 collapse
24:54of all time
24:55the 2003 Vikings
24:57oh we're number 4
24:59yeah
24:59the 3 team
25:00oh ok
25:03was another class
25:04going to be
25:04Ardon
25:09the 2003 Vikings
25:11had
25:11the number 1
25:13offense
25:13in the NFL
25:14we had
25:15Ramos
25:16and we
25:16we had
25:17Colbert
25:17we had
25:18an uneven offense
25:21Minnesota
25:22averaged
25:2230 points
25:23a game
25:24on their way
25:24to a 6-0 start
25:26win the 6-0
25:27that was not a team
25:28playing above their heads
25:29they
25:30they were one of the
25:31top teams in the league
25:32oh look at this
25:34oh oh yes
25:36touchdown
25:37you're gonna be kidding me
25:38that's how you play football
25:39right there
25:41our expectation was
25:42to make it to the Super Bowl
25:43the teams that really win
25:45they have a close
25:46they have a bond
25:47that's in the separate league
25:48and we had it in the beginning
25:49and somewhere along the line
25:51we got cocky
25:51and we lost it
25:52we don't finish this thing out
25:54until we finish this thing out
25:56we stopped spending time together
25:57we stopped doing
25:57the little things
25:58and from that
25:59it was just a downward spiral
26:04whatever it takes
26:05kick this son of a
26:06I think with all these
26:08collapses
26:08you have to
26:09look at the head coaches
26:10raise your hand
26:11if you're gonna get better
26:12this week
26:12head coaches jobs
26:14at this point
26:15sometimes have less
26:16to do with scheme
26:17and more to do
26:18with motivation
26:18a lot of times
26:19coach says he didn't
26:20plan on getting away
26:20for him
26:21we ain't moving the ball
26:23cause you five
26:23are getting your asses kicked
26:25pull the f**k up
26:26and block some f**k money
26:27the practice is really
26:30hard
26:30long
26:31and
26:31it wore you out
26:33during the course of the year
26:34practice was hard
26:35in the game
26:36you start seeing guys
26:37wearing down
26:37getting beat down
26:38guys started getting hurt
26:39and then one thing
26:41led to another
26:41from that point
26:42it was just downhill
26:44no
26:45a 6-1 rookie
26:47robbed Randy Moss
26:49like a thief in the night
26:50rookie
26:52what do y'all want
26:54we're trying to get
26:55to the playoffs
26:56that's all I can tell you
26:57hit him right in the
26:58f**king head
26:58shake him back
26:59let's go
26:59watch out camera man
27:01our number 4 collapse
27:03still could save the season
27:04in the final week
27:06if Minnesota could beat
27:07the 3-12 Cardinals
27:09they would win
27:10the NFC North
27:12they're up 17-6
27:14in the 4th quarter
27:16and they choke the game away
27:1717-6
27:19I mean the game's over
27:30everybody in that stadium
27:31sort of had that feeling
27:32that something special
27:33is going to happen
27:34until 4th and 25
27:35and that's when everybody's
27:37thinking how this game's over
27:384th and 25
27:39you definitely think
27:40the game is over
27:40but you never know
27:41until the game is over
27:52Viking fans will never
27:54forget the name
27:54Nate Poole
27:55I believe it was caught
27:56by Nate Poole
27:58I mean Nate Poole
27:59who is Nate Poole
28:00yeah I remember
28:01I remember him
28:02take y'all ASO
28:03don't come back here
28:05we got an opportunity
28:06to win this game
28:07and possibly
28:09to the playoffs
28:09when we come to lose
28:11to the ASO comms
28:13it was such an
28:17aggravating game
28:18because they were
28:19just so terrible
28:20on the final play
28:21of the regular season
28:22for the Vikings
28:23they lose
28:2418-17
28:26that catch
28:27got Green Bay
28:28into the postseason
28:29and Nate Poole
28:30got a key to the city
28:32the Packers
28:32invited Nate Poole
28:33to their first playoff game
28:35he's about the only guy
28:36they don't have
28:37a street sign
28:37but that might be coming
28:426-0
28:43and then losing
28:44the 4 teams
28:45that were
28:464-12
28:47that just was
28:48an unforgettable
28:50collapse
28:51you know what
28:52I don't really want
28:52to talk about that
28:53I'll talk about something else
28:54but I don't want
28:55to talk about that
28:56what I don't want
28:56to rehash
28:57the loss
28:58so I want to go back
28:58to that
29:00so come up
29:01with something better
29:02or else
29:02I'm walking out
29:04up next
29:05which team
29:06the number 3
29:08collapse of all time
29:09the 2009 Broncos
29:12let's go
29:13we're too close
29:14the guys
29:15who have come out
29:16of the Bill Belichick
29:17coaching tree
29:18have been terrible
29:20earlier in the countdown
29:21former Belichick
29:22assistant Eric Mangini
29:23and the 08 Jets
29:25won a spot
29:25on our list
29:26oh I forgot
29:26something funny
29:27about the
29:28the Vikings
29:29of that era
29:31they had a worse
29:32season
29:33the next year
29:34a worse record
29:35the next year
29:36in 2004
29:36and then won
29:38a playoff game
29:38against the Packers
29:43greatest collapses
29:44congrats guys
29:49the following season
29:51the Broncos
29:52hired another
29:52hoodie disciple
29:53Josh McDaniels
29:55and got their
29:55very own collapse
29:57I love
29:58the 09 Broncos
29:59being on that list
30:00because Josh McDaniels
30:02knew everything
30:03about everything
30:05get your ass
30:06fucked
30:06Josh came in
30:08he just coached
30:09two years before that
30:09Tom Brady to be
30:10the number one
30:11offense in NFL history
30:12Tom Brady
30:12touchdown pass
30:13number 50
30:14an NFL record
30:16Tom Brady gets
30:16injured
30:17he turned Matt
30:17Cassidy
30:18into a 60 million
30:19dollar quarterback
30:19yeah
30:21in Denver
30:22McDaniels
30:22transformed Kyle
30:24Orton
30:24into a 3,000
30:25yard passer
30:27it took a little
30:28work
30:28you're not going to
30:29just leave it
30:30no I want to
30:31slant the thing
30:32yeah you slide
30:33I want to
30:33slant
30:34yes
30:34no
30:38the first one
30:39was the crazy play
30:40at the end
30:40to beat the
30:41Bengals
30:41are you kidding me
30:47oh my goodness
30:48that's your first win
30:50so you get
30:51the football gods
30:52give you one
30:53Broncos
30:54are going to be
30:544-0
30:56seeing them get
30:56off that star
30:57and you kind
30:57of thought
30:58yo man
30:59these Broncos
31:00are for real
31:00Josh McDaniels
31:02changed the whole
31:03culture here
31:03we thought
31:04we're witnessing
31:04the birth of a
31:05legend here
31:06he looked like
31:07the real deal
31:11they beat the
31:12Patriots in Denver
31:13in overtime
31:14to go 5-0
31:16when he ran
31:16around after he
31:17beat the Patriots
31:18like they just
31:18won the Super Bowl
31:19I think everybody
31:19went whoa
31:20guy
31:20like that's a
31:21little bit much
31:22like I kept
31:22waiting for him
31:23to Hulk Hogan
31:24his shirt
31:24and just rip
31:25it off
31:28McDaniels
31:29is showing
31:29his emotion
31:30right now
31:31McDaniels
31:31was so
31:32intense
31:32beating
31:33Belichick
31:33and showing
31:34Belichick
31:35I don't want
31:35anything else
31:36the rest
31:37of the year
31:43the fastest
31:44sinking ship
31:45I ever saw
31:45was the 2009
31:46Broncos
31:47everything that
31:48worked early
31:48in the season
31:49Kyle Orton's
31:50play
31:51everything on
31:52defense
31:52falling together
31:54the enthusiasm
31:55and confidence
31:56that Josh McDaniels
31:57brought to town
31:58it just evaporated
32:00the Jamarcus
32:01Russell loss
32:02at home
32:03he essentially
32:04knocked him
32:04out of the playoffs
32:08to lose to
32:09Jamarcus Russell
32:09or at least
32:10you go down
32:10in history
32:11because I don't
32:11think anyone
32:12else has ever
32:12done that
32:13they can't
32:13do that
32:21at least
32:22Mangini's Jets
32:23finish with a
32:24winning record
32:26after starting
32:276-0
32:28the 2009
32:29Broncos
32:29finished 8-8
32:31to become
32:31our number
32:32three
32:32playoffs
32:33Josh McDaniels
32:34said they
32:34own us
32:35before the game
32:35own who
32:36it's not a coincidence
32:37you have Mangini on here
32:38you have McDaniels on here
32:39excellent coaches
32:40but they're still trying to
32:41find themselves
32:42because they're young
32:43I don't know what we're doing here
32:45they've had certain earmarks
32:46of what happened to
32:47Belichick in Cleveland
32:48Belichick was a young guy
32:49got his first head coaching job
32:51probably a little bit too early
32:52and the same thing happened
32:53with McDaniels
32:54I really don't think you guys
32:55really buy into what I was telling you
32:57yeah well they
33:03from that season
33:04to next season
33:05started 6-0
33:07and then they went
33:105-19
33:11the next 24 games
33:14late season
33:15stumbles were nothing new
33:16in Denver
33:17the year before
33:18they actually did the impossible
33:19they made a division champion
33:21out of the 4-8
33:22San Diego Chargers
33:23who won their last 4 games
33:24San Diego
33:25has bolted from the quicksand
33:27and stolen this division
33:28and that cost Shanahan his job
33:30he had just been fired
33:31the one thing
33:32that Mike Shanahan said is
33:33I don't know who the next guy
33:34is going to be
33:36but you'd be crazy
33:37to change this offense
33:38the first thing
33:39that Josh McDaniels does
33:40is he gets rid of Jay Cutler
33:41he had all the power
33:42in the building
33:43he got rid of
33:44the entire offense
33:45and then he drafted Tim Tebow
33:47I'm going to hold that again
33:47for a little bit
33:48Tebow!
33:49a lot of people forget
33:50that this is the guy
33:51who picked Tebow
33:52in the first round
33:53touchdown
33:53Tim Tebow is over
33:55with the excitement
33:57that Tebow brought
33:57you're going to thank him
33:58for something
33:59coming up
34:00Josh McDaniels
34:01is far from the only coach
34:03to come under fire
34:03when you see these
34:06staggering
34:06collapses
34:07you can't turn away
34:10why was
34:10America's Funniest Home Videos
34:12one of the highest rated shows
34:13because people like to see
34:14people fall down
34:15and get hit in the nuts
34:17number 2 collapse
34:18of all time
34:19the 1994 Eagles
34:21people forget just
34:23how good that team was
34:24the 94 Eagles
34:26destroyed
34:27the Super Bowl champions
34:28and the Eagles
34:29are humiliating
34:31the 49ers
34:3240 to 8
34:33how does a team like that
34:35collapse in the second half
34:36of the season
34:36there has to be something
34:38with the coaching
34:38talent doesn't explain it
34:40the coach
34:41was Richie Kotei
34:42after his team's
34:45hot start
34:46he was looking
34:47for a little respect
34:52Jeffrey Lurie
34:53his first year
34:54owning the team
34:55and he has a head coach
34:55who starts 7-2
34:56and knows that he
34:58started 7-2
34:59and is pining
35:00for new money
35:01new contract
35:01I remember
35:02the nitwicks
35:03in Philadelphia
35:03you gotta re-sign him
35:05give him a new contract
35:06I didn't like Kotei
35:07a little bit
35:08but I said
35:08at 7-2
35:09God is at work here
35:11please give me extension
35:13and Lurie basically said
35:14we're not going to talk
35:15any contracts
35:16for any coaches
35:16at that time
35:17at that point
35:18the coaches all knew
35:19that they were getting fired
35:22and then all of a sudden
35:24instead of being
35:24Vince Lombardi
35:25Rich Kotei
35:26turns back into
35:27Rich Kotei
35:28they had a bad game
35:29against the Browns
35:30and it just starts
35:31rolling and rolling
35:32here's what you
35:33can't stop
35:34let's go
35:35Randall was
35:36flirting with danger
35:37and that's fine
35:44with Philadelphia
35:45facing elimination
35:46Kotei decided
35:48the time was right
35:49for a quarterback change
35:50he benched
35:51Randall Cunningham
35:52for Bubby Brister
35:53who threw a pick
35:54with the Eagles
35:55up by 7
35:56late in the 4th quarter
35:57the Giants
35:58then scored
35:5810 points
36:00in the final
36:004 minutes
36:01a season
36:02in which the Eagles
36:03for 7-2
36:04is found
36:05in ashes
36:07towards Rich
36:08Kotei
36:08that's why
36:09they collapsed
36:09he was
36:11clearing away
36:12the coach
36:12that should be
36:13penciling
36:14with the number
36:15one collapse
36:16it's gotta be
36:17Kotei
36:17how can it not
36:18be Kotei
36:19that obviously
36:20didn't work out
36:20well
36:20but I thought
36:21Rich got a bad rap
36:22you know we lost
36:23a lot of good players
36:24lose Reggie White
36:25to free agency
36:25I mean that's the
36:26heart and soul
36:27of the team
36:27let's go D
36:28come on Richie
36:29Richie's a good guy
36:30but he just couldn't
36:32get through those players
36:33let's bring it back
36:34and be smart
36:35now let's go
36:39hey listen
36:39you don't have a thin skin
36:41and get to this business
36:42you can't
36:44Kotei must have had pictures
36:46to get a head coaching job
36:47after that with the chest
36:49had to have pictures
36:50he was terrible
36:54he shouldn't have been coaching
36:55he should have been running
36:56a men's store in Jersey
36:57hey hey hey
36:58come on babe
36:59what is Rich Kotei
37:00doing these days
37:01everyone
37:01is he like working
37:02in a car wash
37:03come on now
37:03suck it up now
37:05like if I pulled
37:05into a gas station
37:06right now
37:07and I saw Rich Kotei
37:08and he asked me
37:08for a dollar
37:09I would not be surprised
37:10where's your boy Steve
37:12Sid
37:13he's probably up
37:14his name
37:14he's got some nerve
37:18and now
37:19the number one
37:20collapse of all time
37:21the 1993 Dolphins
37:23what a year that was
37:25for Miami
37:25I mean a lot happened
37:26for the 93 Dolphins
37:28what can I say
37:30wasn't that to you
37:30that Dan Marino
37:31got hurt though
37:32there could be something
37:33critically wrong
37:34with Dan Marino
37:35Marino
37:36got injured
37:37their season was over then
37:39he is in pain
37:41and you rate that
37:42the number one collapse
37:43why would you rate that
37:44number one
37:44when we had an
37:46old time quarterback
37:46go down
37:47I mean it's not like
37:47you know the team
37:48was together
37:49and they just folded
37:51this is the only team
37:52that has ever started
37:53nine and two
37:54and did not reach
37:56the playoffs
37:56when you lose it
37:57after nine and two
37:59you've accomplished
38:00something
38:00they deserve to be
38:01the number one team
38:02on this list
38:05it is impossible
38:06to imagine Miami
38:07without Dan Marino
38:08well it won't work
38:09without him
38:09I mean he's the best
38:10in football
38:11now the backup
38:12has to step up
38:13Scott Mitchell
38:14heck
38:15he was on the team
38:15I didn't even know
38:16his name
38:19maybe you're
38:20you just don't
38:21pay attention
38:26even without Marino
38:28Miami kept winning
38:29look at that
38:30well if there's any
38:31coach that you think
38:32is going to be able
38:32to keep things
38:33under wraps
38:34keep things under control
38:35and steer the course
38:37it's Don Shula
38:38in week 11
38:39Shula reached
38:40a career pinnacle
38:42Coach Shula being mobbed
38:43as he becomes
38:44the all time
38:45winningest coach
38:46in the history
38:47of the National Football League
38:49breaking the record
38:50of the immortal
38:50George Halas
38:51maybe once he got
38:52the record against
38:53the Eagles that day
38:54maybe there was
38:54a natural light down
38:55maybe Shula
38:56went like that
38:56at the end of the year
38:57I want this record
38:58to be in a year
38:59that the team
38:59won the Super Bowl
39:00maybe getting past
39:02Halas was a
39:03mountaintop experience
39:04for him
39:04he didn't look like
39:05he had any answers
39:06when the Dolphins
39:06started to unravel
39:13the last game
39:14they won
39:15it's a classic game
39:16last game
39:17the Dolphins win
39:17that year
39:18Thanksgiving Day
39:18in Dallas
39:19we like to call it
39:20the Leon Lett game
39:21I can just remember
39:28celebrating that victory
39:29thinking
39:30we are 9-2
39:32we have 5 games now
39:34to roll into the playoffs
39:36it just seemed like
39:37the karma
39:38was finally switching
39:40their way
39:42we cannot even try
39:43to lose these games
39:44we're still winning
39:49after Thanksgiving
39:50it was like
39:51all their good karma
39:52had been used up
39:53and they just
39:54spiraled out of control
39:57after the Lett game
39:58Miami lost 4 straight
40:00how do you like that?
40:02yet they still
40:03ended the final week
40:04with a chance
40:05to make the playoffs
40:07and welcome to
40:08Foxborough Stadium
40:09where the Dolphins
40:10have come for a
40:11most important game
40:12against the New England
40:13Patriots
40:13a Miami win
40:15or a Dolphin tie
40:16today gets Miami
40:17into the playoffs
40:18we were going
40:19in the end zone
40:20to win the game
40:20the Dolphins
40:21have one timeout left
40:23Mitchell looks
40:25good front
40:26he calls it
40:27it's caught
40:27the King
40:28that was a good touchdown
40:30if they had instant replay
40:31we would have won the game
40:33but they didn't have it
40:34because we caught the ball
40:35in the end zone
40:36Mark Abram caught it
40:38but he was in
40:39it was a touchdown
40:39that's a touchdown
40:40and I had this deep
40:41solemn feeling
40:42that this was the end
40:43of the season
40:43for this team
40:44what's up
40:45on ball
40:46and it's open
40:49I don't think
40:50you can get lower
40:51at a point in time
40:53certainly from my
40:53career standpoint
40:54you can expect
40:55a guy like
40:56Mike Tice
40:57Al Groh
40:58but Don Shula's team
41:00you spot him
41:01a 9-2 record
41:03and he doesn't
41:04make the playoffs
41:05you wonder what
41:06he'll remember
41:07the season for
41:07my guess is
41:08he'll remember it
41:09as the year
41:10they've collapsed
41:11he's not going to
41:12remember it as the year
41:12he set the record
41:13he'll remember it
41:14he'll remember it
41:14he'll remember it
41:14heенная
41:15he ella
41:15hella
41:15tiipress
41:15hella
