00:09I mean, you think the Cowboys have a shot at least getting to a,
00:13how about this, getting past the divisional round
00:15and maybe getting into a conference championship game,
00:18or is that also going to be a tough putt for them this year?
00:23I think it's doable, Dan.
00:24I think they're one of, I don't want to call them a full dark horse contender
00:27because the Cowboys, the Cowboys can't really be a dark horse.
00:31There's always so much attention on them.
00:32But if you look at this offense, Dak Prescott's played very well the last few seasons.
00:37He has a great receiving duo with C.D. Lamb and George Pickens,
00:40who seems locked in despite getting the franchise tag.
00:43He's completely comfortable playing on that one-year tender.
00:46So I think, you know, avoiding any drama with that is ideal for the Cowboys.
00:51So their offense is going to be very, very good.
00:53Obviously, their defense was a massive problem last year.
00:55They ranked dead last in a lot of categories,
00:58but they spent a lot of the offseason just adding depth and talent
01:02and veteran pieces to that defense.
01:04I mean, the Rashawn Gary trade, the D. Winters trade, Jalen Thompson,
01:07a very good safety came over from the Cardinals,
01:10and then adding Caleb Downs in that first round.
01:12He could end up being the guy that gives that defense really an identity
01:15and a true playmaker back there.
01:17So I'm not going into this season thinking,
01:20hey, the Cowboys are going to have like an elite defense by any stretch.
01:23But if they can get into that average to above-average range
01:26after how bad they were last year
01:27and keep that offense performing at a top-tier level,
01:30I think this team could make a little bit of a run.
01:33It's not going to be easy.
01:34I wouldn't necessarily pick them to make the Super Bowl,
01:36but I think that they could get to the playoffs.
01:39They could get past the divisional round and, hey,
01:41maybe get to that NFC championship.
01:42I think there is a path for them.
