00:00Isn't it, I find it a shame, the administration in the U.S. and Congress people writing these letters and
00:07blaming us and so on and so forth.
00:09They have a very short, short memory.
00:12We had the water bombers, everyone ready, going over to California.
00:15It was last year.
00:17We sent down hydro linemen down to the Carolinas and Georgia to help out.
00:24That's what neighbors do, right?
00:26You don't get on and start threatening and criticizing because guess what?
00:30One day, it's going to be your turn and we're going to be down there without hesitation to support our
00:35neighbors.
00:36The total number of active wildland fires in Ontario is now 191, which is seven more than yesterday.
00:4473 of those are not under control.
00:4891 are being observed.
00:5012 are being held and 15 are under control.
00:55And right now, there are 155 fire crews and approximately 80 water bombers and helicopters.
01:02I was over at the airport thanking some of the large helicopter operators right across the north with about 40
01:10more aircraft ready to deploy where needed.
01:14As of this morning, 10 communities have been evacuated to municipalities across the province and three are still preparing or
01:23under warning or potentially evacuation.
01:26To support evacuation efforts, we have opened provincially led reception centers.
01:33For example, right here in Thunder Bay, which we should be, but all the rhetoric going on there, and it's
01:42not from all Americans.
01:43I'll tell you, Americans love Canadians, and we Canadians love Americans, but to make the comments they did through the
01:51administration, unacceptable.
01:53Absolutely unacceptable.
01:54We're trying to get through this, and maybe, I got an idea.
01:57I got an idea for President Trump.
02:00Why don't you get rid of the softwood lumber tariffs?
02:03Because 33% of the lumber that you use in your building, guess what?
02:09It comes from Canada.
02:11You want us to clear the forest?
02:13Well, open up the gates.
02:15Let's start shipping softwood lumber down there.
02:17And that would resolve a lot of the issues that we face right now.
