Cyprien Gaillard’s exhibition at Kunsthaus Bregenz explores urban entropy, decay, and persistence through installations that engage with cycles of destruction and renewal. Behind the building’s façade, a suspended orange construction chute evokes ongoing demolition and renovation. On the ground floor, the large inflatable sculpture Visitant (2021–2026) moves erratically to music from the 1990s KILLASAN sound system, first-floor works feature groupings of Polaroid photographs arranged in diamond formations, on the second floor, modified flutes holding zero-euro banknotes reference the Pied Piper legend, and Cyprien Gaillard’s new film DETERRENT (2026) depicts urban fringes, from 7-Eleven sound deterrents to overpainted graffiti and regulatory signage.

Cyprien Gaillard: When you expect flutes, it's whistles / Kunsthaus Bregenz. Bregenz (Austria), July 11, 2026.
