ARTIST CREATES INCREDIBLE MILK PORTRAITS OF FOOTBALL LEGENDS FOR WORLD CUP

WITH PIX AND VID

BY SHUK YEE TSANG

An artist has wowed football fans by creating a series of incredible portraits of some of the world's biggest football stars using nothing but oat milk.

Wayne Wright, 55, from Solihull, West Midlands, UK, filmed himself painting the likenesses of England stars Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham, Manchester City striker and Norway footballer Erling Haaland and arguably the greatest footballer of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo onto a glass surface using the unusual medium.

The videos show each football icon gradually emerging in remarkable detail, despite being created with nothing more than oat milk.

Wayne, who works for a printing company, said the idea for painting with milk began after he was given a free carton of oat milk that was nearing its expiry date.

He paints on glass over a dark background to create contrast, with each portrait taking around an hour to sketch and complete.

Wayne's artistic journey began unexpectedly after his daughter Eliza asked him to paint her a picture.

After sharing his early work online, he received hundreds of messages from around the world and has since sold artwork internationally, including pieces to celebrities.

With the FIFA World Cup underway, Wayne said he wanted to celebrate some of the tournament's biggest stars and hopes England can go all the way.

Wayne said: "I enjoy making art with milk and who better to create images of than some of the top World Cup players!

"I've watched all of the England matches and think the team have done incredibly well considering the heat and altitude of some games.

"I'll be cheering my country on and hope we go all the way! Come on England!

"I'm a big fan of the World Cup, even though I'm not actually a football supporter. The World Cup brings everyone together, even non-football fans like myself.

"I chose oat milk purely by chance. I was given it for free from my local store because they were about to throw it out due to the date.

"I thought, 'I wonder what it's like to paint with?' and I was very surprised how easy it was."
