TINY BUGS REVEAL THEIR BIG PERSONALITIES IN INCREDIBLE MACRO PHOTOS

WITH PIX AND VID

BY SHUK YEE TSANG

A wildlife photographer has revealed the hidden world of insects through a breathtaking collection of macro images that showcase the remarkable beauty of creatures often overlooked.

Sritam Kumar Sethy, 26, an aspiring pharmaceutical analyst and wildlife photographer from Balasore, Odisha, India, captured the incredible close-ups in wetlands, gardens and agricultural fields across his home state.

The stunning collection features intricate portraits of insects and spiders, revealing dazzling colours, delicate textures and fascinating behaviours that are almost invisible to the naked eye.

Over the years, he has documented around 60 to 70 different species of insects and spiders and captured more than 50,000 photos and videos while spending thousands of hours patiently observing wildlife.

Sritam said: "I've always been fascinated by the tiny creatures that most people overlook.

"Macro photography allowed me to reveal an entirely different world filled with remarkable behaviours, intricate patterns and fascinating adaptations.

"My goal is not only to create visually striking images but also to encourage people to appreciate and conserve the incredible biodiversity that exists right around us.

"My biggest motivation is revealing the hidden beauty of the natural world. Every outing is different, and I never know what behaviour I might witness.

"Macro photography has taught me that extraordinary stories often exist in the smallest corners of nature. I hope my work encourages people to slow down, look more closely at the wildlife around them and realise that even the tiniest creatures play an important role in our ecosystems."
