00:47guy ESPN's Jeremy Fowler took the snap yesterday and revealed top ten
00:52quarterbacks in the NFL according to his survey NFL executives coaches scouts
00:57here is the official list and I talked to Jeremy Fowler today on my Sirius XM
01:05radio show and I did tell him there's one thing that we need to establish and he
01:10said that he talked to every single executive and coach and general manager
01:14and everyone that he talked to and said here's the way this list works top ten
01:20for 2026 and that's an important distinction because we're not talking
01:26about a career you can make the case Patrick Mahomes is the second greatest
01:31quarterback in NFL history we're talking about right now 2026 today top ten
01:38quarterbacks in the NFL and what Fowler did and he explained this to me in depth and
01:43detail he had everyone votes on a top ten so then you could see what percentage a guy
01:50got at a specific number at a specific rate and how many votes a guy got in the
01:54top five and the top ten so I thought this was a pretty awesome exercise and
02:00Fowler does this every year for every position but obviously the one that gets the
02:05most attention the most important position of course in the National
02:08Football League and frankly in all of sports the quarterback here's my sweet
02:1416 and of course sweet 16 is nice and catchy and it's an expression but also I'm
02:20giving you 16 in order and I always make this list before Fowler compiles his so I
02:27don't overreact but 16 means half the league 32 teams so this way if your
02:34quarterback is listed in this sweet 16 I believe it's an upper half upper echelon if you will in
02:41terms of starting quarterbacks in the National Football League and there are some noteworthy
02:46guys not on it that we will get into and I will give you my explanation but let's start
02:53at the top 2026 best quarterback is Josh Allen and honestly it's not even up for
02:59debate Josh Allen if we're talking about if I need a quarterback today if I need a
03:04quarterback for the entire season if I need a quarterback for this postseason this is
03:09the guy that I want Josh Allen is a freak he's John Elway meets Paul Bunyan he does
03:16unbelievable things on the football field as a leader as a thrower as a runner he's
03:21tough he's clutch I know about the playoff matchups head to head with Patrick Mahomes
03:26some of them including the 13 second game he's outplayed Patrick Mahomes he's five in one in
03:33his career in the regular season going up against Patty so I think Josh Allen always is a favorite
03:41if not the favorite when it comes to the NFL MVP and if you read the reports that Fowler put
03:47together Josh Allen got all the majority of the first place votes it was ridiculously
03:54lopsided in terms of Allen at number one and listen when you're talking about tangibles
04:00intangibles that roster is not elite or the best in the NFL Josh Allen carries them that's the
04:09definition of being a true number one franchise quarterback Josh Allen it's always his time to
04:16shine and he is without question the number one reason why the Bills can win the AFC win the Super
04:23Bowl it's because Josh Allen is everything you want you look at what he's been able to do in his
04:30career
04:31won the MVP in 2024 you look at what he does in terms of wins and losses you look at
04:38the way he carries
04:39this flawed team I'm ready to jump through a table here when you look at Josh Allen and what he
04:45does for
04:46the Buffalo Bills he's my clear number one now Patrick Mahomes listen all the reports say he's going to be
04:53ready to start the season so he's my number two and I've argued for a very long time when I
04:59say long
05:00time over the last four years that at any given moment you could do a quarterback ranking and I
05:06don't get too worked up if you have Mahomes if you have Burrow if you have Allen if you have
05:11Lamar
05:12those are the four best quarterbacks in the NFL draw a line then I've always argued that number five
05:19Matthew Stafford and you can always argue Mahomes is the best because he's arguably the best in the
05:24history of the NFL last 50 years to me it's Tom Brady then Patrick Mahomes Matthew Stafford is third
05:29on my list because Matthew Stafford just won the MVP Matthew Stafford was a Hall of Famer in Detroit
05:36Matthew Stafford became a first ballot Hall of Famer when he won a Super Bowl in LA Matthew Stafford
05:42just won the MVP I know he's getting a little long in the tooth I don't care Matthew Stafford could
05:48easily win another MVP and another Super Bowl this season with the loaded LA ramps so I didn't bat an
05:54eye
05:55that Stafford was number three on the list for Jeremy Fowler because I had him number three on my list
06:01Joe Burrow's number four the only knock for Joe Burrow is whether or not he could stay healthy
06:06but listen Joe Burrow when healthy is as good or better than anyone in the business throwing the
06:13football to T Higgins and Jamar Chase I think the world of Joe Burrow I think he is absolutely sensational
06:19I think Lamar Jackson when you look at it's at number five Lamar Jackson is someone who at the end
06:26of the day absolutely deserves credit as a two-time MVP I think that Lamar Jackson is a sensational
06:34player Lamar Jackson at the end of the day he did not have a great year last year in fact
06:41in the latest
06:42NFL Network poll he's at number 69 of the top 100 players voted on by the players one year ago
06:50that
06:50is ridiculously insane that is completely crazy when you look at Burrow you look at Lamar flip a coin
06:58honestly these guys are basically in the same class I don't think there's any question about it
07:04the difference that I had in my list versus what the executives gave to Jeremy Fowler Sam I am Sam
07:13Darnold I've always been obsessed with Sam Darnold's talent he was able to put it together when you look
07:19at what transpired over the last couple of years and and that's what it is when you look at Sam
07:24it's not just a one-hit wonder and where do you rank him he was an upper echelon dominant quarterback
07:31for the Vikings in 2024 he was sensational then wins the Super Bowl for the Seattle Seahawks last year
07:40so it's all clicked for Darnold talent has never been the issue obviously he got Jets by New York
07:46then we all know what happened with Carolina then got his PhD in QB play and here he is so
07:53I think Sam
07:53Darnold is absolutely worthy of being in the top 10 now there are a couple of noteworthy names that I
07:59didn't even put in my 16 there's no CJ Stroud there's no Bo Nix I don't regret that or second
08:07guess that at all and there's no Jordan Love and I know there are a lot of Packers fans who
08:12think I
08:12am this big Jordan Love hater I am not I am realistic I mean I wasn't one of the executives
08:18who gave a vote
08:20to Jeremy Fowler for his top 10 where Jordan Love did not appear Aaron Rodgers in his solid years
08:27in Green Bay was always at the top of the list Jordan Love three years in he doesn't make the
08:33top 10 why
08:35because he's not a great player I think the best thing you could say about Jordan Love is he's solid
08:41he's good and he makes way too many mistakes for my liking so I have him going into this season
08:48as quarterback 17 I'll put him ahead of Bo Nix I'll put him ahead of CJ Stroud I'll put him
08:54ahead of
08:55Indiana Jones I'll put him ahead of Fernando Mendoza who I think is gonna have a monster year
09:00even if you want to make the case you know Love versus Aaron Rodgers we could have a conversation
09:06about that I think Rodgers is gonna have a monster season but I don't believe that Jordan Love
09:10is a top 16 quarterback when you take a look at the NFL for this season now I want to
09:16focus on
09:17Justin Herbert here because I struggled on this one he might be the most discussed and disputed top 10
09:25selection six seasons I'm obsessed with Herbert I think Justin Herbert has ridiculous talent
09:32and you can make the case year two of his career might have been the best he also has zero
09:38AFC West titles
09:40obviously plays in the same division as Patrick Mahomes but he has zero playoff wins and you think
09:46about what he did last year against New England what he did the year before against Houston it was
09:52absolutely positively repulsive it was hot garbage now I would make this case beyond the numbers beyond the
10:02box score and that's why I put him at eight and why the executives that Jeremy Fowler talked to put
10:08him
10:09at seven I thought Justin Herbert last year had a sensational year and I'm not just throwing that word around
10:15he didn't have either one of his tackles both of his starting tackles didn't play it down last year
10:21that's why I always say I don't lock in my preseason picks until right around Labor Day because I went
10:28from
10:28taking the Chargers to win the division to not having the Chargers even in the playoffs because
10:32if you don't have your two tackles it's a Herculean task so I still think Herbert is dreamy as a
10:39talent
10:39I still think Herbert is sensational as a quarterback his playoff performances are pure garbage and slop
10:49I can't defend him I can't now I still think he's better currently going into 2026 for 2026 and the
10:57other quarterbacks I have in my head but I just can't sit here and rip anyone who wants to rip
11:04me
11:04or the Fowler rankings if you don't believe that Justin Herbert is a top 10 quarterback now you can
11:10look at my list you look at Fowler's list perhaps the biggest snub on this list Jalen Hurts because he
11:18was relegated to the honorable mentions in the portion of Fowler's article because we're talking about
11:24a guy who's been a Super Bowl MVP he's a champion and in the Super Bowl that Hurts lost and
11:31I've made
11:31this case I don't want to pretend like I don't remember what I say you can make the case Hurts
11:36outplayed Patrick Mahomes worst case scenario as great as Patrick Mahomes then in the Super Bowl he won
11:43destroyed the Chiefs absolutely killed them but since then Jalen Hurts has not played great football
11:50and then you remember Jeremy Fowler's piece earlier this offseason where you had a lot of people that
11:58were unnamed ripping Jalen Hurts doesn't want to throw over the middle not easy to work with and you
12:03also see the numbers and the performance down the stretch third down in the playoffs last couple years
12:10and it's been a bitter disappointment when you look at Jalen Hurts listen I think Jalen Hurts is
12:17kind of on the hot seat I don't say that with joy or jubilation and and I know Howie Roseman
12:23my guy
12:23the general manager of the Eagles absolutely loves him but if the Eagles don't live up to expectations
12:30if that offense isn't humming I don't know if Jalen Hurts is going to be long for the world
12:35after 2026 this might sound crazy or sacrilegious but just remember my ranking remember the ranking
12:45for Hurts and the Jeremy Fowler piece I mean I don't view him as a top 10 quarterback and neither
12:52does any executive right now when you look at the rankings for Jeremy Fowler so I I think Jalen Hurts
13:00deserves to ultimately be considered in the top 16 but top 10 I can't do it and it's interesting when
13:08you look at Jalen Hurts there's always conversation because of the Eagles Cowboys rivalry Dak Prescott
13:14Jalen Hurts who's better and finally when Jalen Hurts won all Eagles fans were saying nope that's our guy
13:22that's our franchise quarterback and I would continue to argue that Dak Prescott is better than Jalen Hurts
13:29because I watch football and I have Dak Prescott ranked number six and to me after the top five
13:37you slot Prescott in six and then you draw a line he's almost in his own grouping and own ranking
13:44here
13:44when you look at Dak Prescott you look at Prescott versus Hurts last year and I want you to remember
13:50something when you see these numbers CeeDee Lamb barely played Dak Prescott by every measuring stick
13:58and again we could talk last year year before history the category is best quarterbacks 2026 I'm very high
14:08on Dak Prescott CeeDee Lamb George Pickens and the Dallas Cowboys I think Prescott a couple of years ago I
14:16had
14:16him behind Lamar Jackson number two for MVP I think that Dak Prescott has MVP vibes this year I think
14:24Dak Prescott is going to lead
14:25the Dallas Cowboys to the division not the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts I want Dak Prescott as the leader
14:33and the
14:33quarterback for my football team I know Hurts has the hardware I know what he's done in the playoffs before
14:40I don't even
14:42hesitate here when it comes to this specific ranking and I've been very consistent on this Prescott more dominant
14:51better quarterback than Hurts always it's always been team oriented results oriented Prescott's had nonsense and
15:01noise around him I don't even hesitate here and clearly nobody else does I mean I have Prescott six and
15:09Jalen Hurts is
15:10much further down when you look at it so I think that is a big deal when you look at
15:16these rankings here
15:17for me and from the executives talking to Jeremy Fowler the last quarterback topic I'd like to tackle
15:23here is the case of the 2024 quarterbacks Caleb Williams obviously selected first Jaden Daniel second won the
15:30rookie of the year and Drake May who took his team to the Super Bowl last year he was the
15:35third overall pick
15:36so as they enter year three would they go in the same order if we drafted them again today well
15:42no
15:43they wouldn't and listen I think what's interesting if you go back to my list I think Drake May of
15:51the
15:51bunch right now 2026 is the best right Drake May I have him seventh overall let's stay on this for
15:59a second
15:59Caleb Williams I have number nine Jaden Daniels I have 12. I want to talk about Daniels for a second
16:07I don't know what the hell to do with him on this list Jaden Daniels a year ago was fifth
16:11on the
16:11Fowler list you know everything went right for Daniels as a rookie everything went wrong for Jaden
16:18Daniels last year now Washington was a mess I also don't believe in Washington this year so that's
16:25reflective of my rankings Drake May earned that ranking and I don't believe in the Patriots this
16:31year and I think they were fluky but one of the reasons why they were fluky is because Drake May
16:35was phenomenal I think the rest of the squad there was a lot of smoke and mirrors Drake May deserves
16:40to be number seven and if you read Fowler's piece and I talked to him today on my SiriusXM radio
16:45show
16:45Drake May got a lot of votes as the fifth best quarterback in 2026 I'll allow that I vote for
16:53the MVP he was number two on my list they make the AJ Brown trade I think you're going to
16:58see Drake
16:59may have another monster year I love this board that the shine time team put together here because if you
17:08look at the numbers you might say well hold on Adam how do you have Caleb Williams ranked as high
17:15as you do
17:16listen so much of this is gut so much of this is feel so much of this is watching ball
17:25Caleb Williams last
17:26year was phenomenal Caleb Williams first year was a waste of time Matt Eberflus head coach
17:32complete and utter hot mess right so that's part of the deal when you look at the first two seasons
17:37and the
17:38stats Caleb Williams to me is the answer to the question of the best quarterback from the 2024 class
17:47when we do this list next year I think Caleb Williams is going to have a monster 2026 I think
17:57that's
17:57everything slowed down for him last year he made some of the most unbelievable throws you'll ever see
18:03I think the reason why he's on my list the reason why he's on Jeremy Fowler's list what he did
18:08in big
18:09spots when it mattered the most what he did in the playoffs what he did making majestic throws
18:15jaw dropping throws comeback wins Green Bay wins plural which matter a little bit more when you look at
18:24the Chicago Green Bay rivalry and frankly wasn't really a rivalry because Green Bay just owned the
18:30Chicago Bears so I look at what Caleb Williams is right now the answer to best quarterback in this
18:37class based upon the first two years is Drake May then I put Caleb Williams then Jaden Daniels but in
18:44terms of who I think will have the best year this year that will be Caleb Williams I couldn't disrespect
18:53Drake May and put Williams ahead of him but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we will
18:59be talking
19:00about Caleb Williams closer to number six and Dak Prescott when it's all said and done I'm sure
19:07there'll be no debates about my quarterback rankings now to baseball where I think a dying home run derby
19:13was revived last night I'll go beyond that to say this was the greatest home run derby in the history

19:21two home run derbies Cardinals outfielder Jordan Walker hit six consecutive home runs in the final to stun the
19:28Philly crowd who is rooting feverly for their guy Kyle Schwarber Walker became the first player in Cardinals
19:35franchise history to take the Derby crown listen this was absolutely remarkable the theater the drama and Walker was down
19:49to his
19:50his final swing and if any of them didn't go over the fence Schwarber wits and I just love the
19:58Philly fans I loved everything about the energy I love the boos I love their booing Contreras who was going
20:06up
20:06against Schwarber I love when they were booing Walker the fans were a huge part of this adding to the
20:12drama to make
20:13this the single greatest home run derby we've ever seen I picked as you know on shine time Kyle Schwarber
20:20to win
20:20the home run derby I thought the best thing for baseball last night would be to ultimately see
20:26Schwarber or Harper win the home run derby as it turned out the best thing for baseball was for Walker

20:34steal it it was over all he had to do was not in a home run of one of his

20:40Schwarber wins I mean it was done and then Walker just hit Homer after Homer after Homer also they got

20:47of the clock that was huge I hated the clock think about old school when you would go with your

20:54dad to batting practice to watch the big guns hit bombs right and you're sitting there and you just want

21:09Juan Gonzalez in batting practice I mean those were great times I don't need a clock I just want to

21:21baseball that was the beauty of last night and to see Walker do what he did and that's incredible his

21:28was there his dad was there the fans are chanting for Walker's dad you get to learn something about
21:34maybe a player that you don't know a lot about in terms of Walker and who he is or what

21:40the table for the St. Louis Cardinals man what a great night for baseball that was as dramatic as
21:46pulsating as wonderful as a home run derby as you'll ever see I think that having it in Northeast
21:53City specifically Philly where you had a couple of prodigious sluggers from the Phillies in the home run
22:00derby the fans were such an amazing part of it last night in terms of the drama and the pageantry
22:06and the
22:07feel man and then to see Schwarber's reaction as you see Walker hit the home run and that Netflix shot

22:14Schwarber standing there and Harper's right behind him no one could believe that Walker just kept hitting Homer after Homer
22:21I mean there are some home run derbies you'll never forget Josh Hamilton Ted Williams you can start going through
22:26whatever you want in the history of baseball that was unreal I love when baseball's on center stage I love

22:52night that was everything great for baseball great passionate fans in Philly drama with Schwarber and the

23:14Trout was in attendance last night he's gonna lead off for the American League tonight in his 12th all-star
23:19game maybe those rabid fans in Philly would like to see him come back and play close to home he

24:20said he idolizes Derek Jeter and Jeter stayed with the Yankees his entire career I talked to Jeter
24:26today on my Sirius XM radio show and he said he doesn't like to give people advice on things where
24:32he doesn't have knowledge on right he was always loyal to the Yankees Yankees are loyal to him that's
24:37what he told me today on on radio so he would be reluctant to give trout advice but Jeter does
24:45think staying in one place is special and I know that trout thinks that as well I don't think you
24:52when you factor in injuries and contract there are going to be multiple suitors lined up here to trade
24:56for Mike Trout the only exception is Philly it's got to be Philly free Mike Trout see Mike Trouts is
25:05unbelievable Mike Trout is sensational Mike Trouts is to me had the greatest start to a career
25:12history of major league baseball I don't think there's any question about that I have not only
25:18said that Jason Stark has written that but trout languishing on a team that no one pays attention to

28:53to put that number seven on the list number six and I'm going to be very specific on a couple

29:01a Wegmans seltzer that's right you have to go to Wegmans a Wegmans sparkling water and here's the thing
