00:00What do you hear when you hear people like J.J. Redick make a comment that guys like you were
00:05playing against plumbers and you guys, again, today's NBA is a lot different than the NBA when you guys played
00:13like you and Bob Cousy.
00:16That's such a silly, silly comment to make, okay? If the guys I played with had available to them the
00:25technology and the training that these guys have available to them, every one of us would be even better than
00:32we were back then.
00:33I'd be faster, stronger, quicker, more endurance, jump higher. I would be so much better a player.
00:39So to compare how we played back then to who you're playing against, no. If we were training like these
00:46guys trained, every one of us would be even better than we were before.
00:49And a lot of us back then, even without the training, are better than a lot of guys that are
00:53playing today.
00:55Because we know the game. We know the game. We were taught how to play the game the most efficient
01:01and effective way possible.
01:03We were basically, the majority of us were fundamentally sound. A lot of players today are not fundamentally sound.
01:10So today's guys are great athletes. They're just not skilled players with the skill set that you guys had. That's
01:18your opinion.
01:19And you said if you had today's technology and today's training and today's nutrition, you'd be right now with the
01:26three-point line.
01:28Rick Berry is scoring 40 points a game, right?
01:31Yeah, potentially, yeah. I mean, because I never really had the three. I had to learn how to do it.
01:36I didn't, I wasn't a great three. I was only a good free-thrumped shooter. I got to be like
01:3933%, which is 50 from twos.
01:41But if I were playing today, I can assure you, I wouldn't be satisfied myself if I wasn't at least,
01:46at least a 40% shooter from three-point range.
