00:13Our meeting videos are more informational and our rituals videos are demonstrations and explanations of various rituals, spells, and potions
00:21that correspond with things like moon phases and holidays.

00:47In order to begin our meeting, we must first cast a circle. There are many ways to do so, but
00:52what I like to do for our videos is imagine a sphere around me, take a hit, and then imagine
00:57that sphere filling up with my smoke, cleansing and protecting me.
01:01And then we will invite the entities that we want to join us.
01:18The spirit of cannabis, I invoke you.
01:21Hekate, goddess of witchcraft and protector of animals, I invoke you.
01:25Hestia, goddess of hearth and home, I invoke you.
01:29Hermes, god of communication, I invoke you.
01:32Eris, goddess of chaos and discord, I invoke you.
01:45For this week's meeting, we will be discussing familiars.
01:49A familiar is more than a family member.
01:52It's a non-human creature that bonds deeply with your soul and magic.
01:58A familiar can be a living creature, a figure, a stone shaped like a creature, a taxidermy creature, a stuffed
02:06animal, or even the spirit of a dead creature.
02:10Many witches feel the connection as soon as they meet their familiar, but sometimes the connection develops over time.
02:18Either way, the connection between witch and familiar is a bond of souls that extends beyond life.
02:26You can have many creatures, but you will know when you meet your familiars.
02:31You can also have multiple familiars.
02:33Once you've found your familiar, your first magical task is to make sure that they have everything they need to
02:40settle into your home and life.
02:42This can be special pedestals or devoted altars for the ones that aren't living.
02:47For living creatures, this can be making sure that they have a place to sleep, the right kind of food,
02:53plenty of water, grooming products, toys, collars, clothes.
02:58I know that some of you may not like putting clothes on your familiar.
03:02However, I think that that decision should be made by the familiar, not the witch, because some do like to
03:08wear clothes.
03:09Taking care of your familiar is a sacred act.
03:13Taking care of anyone is a magical act, but it's even more so for familiars.
03:18The care and love that you give enhances your bond and makes your familiar feel more comfortable sharing their magic
03:26with you.
03:28This can be making sure that they are well-fed, groomed regularly, hydrated, and happy.
03:34For non-living familiars, care could be cleaning them, cleaning the area they stay in,
03:40consecrating them with oil or moon water, and charging them with the powers of the moon or sun.
03:46Playing with your familiar is essential.
03:50Your bond is deep, but it needs regular tending.
03:54Playing lets us feel free, enjoy life, and step outside of the seriousness and traumas of your life.
04:02When you play, you connect with and learn more about each other.
04:06With a lot of experimentation, you will find the right ways to play with your familiar and the right toys
04:12to give them.
04:13Each individual creature has a personality and preferences, and playing can reveal more of both.
04:21If your life is very busy, you may want to schedule time for playing, but usually your familiar will let
04:28you know when they're ready to play.
04:30Tend to your bond like you would a ritual fire.
04:33Each act of tending is sacred and magical.
04:37The bond between witch and familiar is just as strong as bonds with deities, soulmates, and twin flames.
04:45Your souls are intertwined.
04:48Your magic merges.
04:50Your familiar may even help take care of you.
04:53For example, my familiar is my cat, Sassy, and when I'm dealing with illness flares, she will climb on me
05:01and give me a little massage in the areas that need a little massage, and it really does help.
05:07And so do the snuggles that come after the massage.
05:11Of course, there is also the option to have your familiar trained to become a service creature, which is great
05:18for those who need extra assistance in their daily lives.
05:23However, that training can be quite difficult and expensive.
05:27Before you can effectively wield your familiar's magic, you must learn about it.
05:33Which elements are they connected to?
05:36Which aspects of their personality fuel their magic?
05:40What forces of nature are they connected to?
05:43For example, Sassy is my little storm bringer.
05:47I ask her for storms and she provides.
05:50Whenever there's a storm or rain, I give Sassy extra snuggles and thank her.
05:57Familiars can also have the magic of love, good fortune, psychic abilities, mind reading, knowledge, certain deities, and much more.
06:08You can discover various aspects of your familiar's magic through careful observation, meditation, speaking to them in other worlds such
06:17as the astral realm, and experimentation.
06:20By experimentation, I mean try working different kinds of magic with your familiar to see what types of magic have
06:29the strongest results.
06:44Once you're ready to harness your familiar's magic, there are many ways to go about it.
06:49You can do something simple like asking for a change in weather, fortune, or something more specific.
06:56You can meditate while holding them.
06:59You can meet them in other worlds through astral projection.
07:04And for those of you who may ask, yes your familiar does have an astral form.
07:10You can place a figure or symbol on your offer to represent your familiar.
07:16I have a goddess statue that has a picture of a cat on the bottom, a black cat, and that
07:23represents Sassy and my connection to her.
07:26And it's holding up this little offering dish that I use for burning cone incense on.
07:33So every time I use a cone in my rituals, it is adding the magic of my familiar Sassy.
07:42Who is just being the cutest over here, isn't she?
07:48Please don't knock my weed out of my bowl.
07:51Where was I? Where was I? Where was I? Where was I? Where was I?

07:56If your familiar is not living, you can harness their powers by holding them during meditation and rituals,
08:03or placing them on a special spot in your altar.
08:08You can also make an altar dedicated to your familiar with space to work your magic.
08:16You can have a special place for them to sit during rituals and another place for them to sit outside
08:22of rituals.
08:24You can also meet the spirit of your familiar in another world through astral projection, even if it is not
08:33a living being.
