01:45for this week's meeting we will be diving into the wonderful world of edibles I love edibles I've
01:51made my own many times and I buy pre-made ones all the time there are so many options out
01:58there
01:58nowadays that it can be really hard to decide which edible is right for you so hopefully this video
02:05will help you kind of navigate the world of edibles I don't know why navigate it was like
02:11I don't know the first thing that you need to know about edibles is that it can take a long
02:17time for
02:18them to kick in sometimes because of this many people fall into the trap of thinking that their
02:24edibles aren't working and they take more when they actually just haven't waited long enough for the
02:31edible to kick in smoking kicks in immediately straight to the dome you know what I'm saying
02:38but with edibles it takes a little bit of time because the body has to extract the cannabinoids from the
02:47food
02:47if you're not sure how long a particular edible takes to kick in you can look at product reviews or
02:55I
02:55recommend just waiting like an hour and it should kick in after an hour when deciding which edible to
03:03choose it's important to figure out the right dose for you if you're not used to edibles I recommend
03:09starting with a low dose so maybe five to ten milligrams of THC wait to see how that goes and
03:17then decide if you want to increase your dose there are a lot of products out there that have very
03:25low
03:25amounts of THC for micro dosing micro dosing is when you take a small amount that is not big enough
03:33for you
03:34to really feel the psychoactive effects but it is enough for you to feel the other health benefits
03:41just to put that into perspective one hit of flour is generally somewhere around five milligrams THC
03:51however since it is absorbed differently your tolerance to edibles might be different from your tolerance to
03:59inhalables some people can smoke all day long but they can only take small doses of edibles some
04:09people are like me and they can take high doses of inhalables and edibles some people can't take a
04:16whole lot of either it really varies person to person it depends on your body and essentially just your body
04:24chemistry but remember that you can always divide your edibles into smaller portions if you want a
04:33smaller amount nowadays edibles come in a wide variety of options there's the classic gummies chocolates
04:41mints syrups beverages tinctures baked goods honey full meals and more it can be difficult to decide which
04:50one is best for you so first you want to think of the setting you'll be taking these edibles in
04:58are you going on a hike are you doing chores will you be creating art are you going to work
05:04are you planning
05:05to use them for urgent medical care when a hospital can't help you such as in a case of a
05:13chronic illness where
05:14hospitals have nothing to offer you are you planning to stop smoking and ingest edibles only are you
05:25planning a high dinner party under what circumstances will you be taking these edibles drinks tend to be
05:32very fast acting and they come in a wide variety of flavors and types there are sodas sparkling waters teas
05:40coffees coffees coffees syrups and the syrups can actually be taken alone or added to water to make
05:48a drink there's also fake booze that contains no alcohol but is infused with cannabinoids and some of
05:57these will reflect the flavor of alcohols and they are really good for things like if you want to take
06:05shots
06:06or if you want to make a mocktail some people turn their gummies into drinks by melting them
06:14if you plan to make your own drink i recommend watching our video on potion making and that might
06:20help you to figure out which ingredients you want to use gummies can be fast acting or they can take
06:28a
06:28while to kick in there's a lot of different flavors and if you don't want to take the full dose
06:33you can
06:34always cut them into smaller doses gummies are very popular but they might not be the right option if
06:41you're dealing with digestive issues baked goods and candies are always a crowd pleaser too
06:47weed brownies are classic edibles that sodas have been enjoying for quite some time now
06:53you can infuse almost anything especially if it contains butter coconut oil or milk because cannabinoids
07:01need to bind to some sort of fat to make your edibles potent if you're interested in baking your
