00:03I'm Candice Lamb with D210 Sports. We're sitting here with Noah, also Heisman Trophy candidate.
00:10Your team made it very well known here today. We had resumes sitting there on our desk.
00:15How do you feel about a statement like that being made here at Big 12?
00:18It's a blessing. They did a great job too. I didn't know about it. I just saw people with
00:23papers and I kind of saw what it was. But I mean, I think it's a blessing to be in
00:26that
00:26conversation. I think it's the greatest award in sports, any sport, professional or amateur.
00:32So to be in that conversation is amazing. But for me, it's all about the team. It's all about
00:36winning a Big 12 championship. And I think naturally, if we're able to do that, I got to play well.
00:40And
00:40naturally, if we do do it, I could be in that conversation. Absolutely. That is a blessing.
00:44Speaking of blessings, your coach spoke about how you are a man of faith. And I've overheard you a
00:50little earlier. Could you tell us more about that being the basis of the foundation of who you are
00:56and you as a player? My faith is everything to me. And it was instilled by my grandparents. They
01:01took me to church every Sunday. We pray every night at 8 p.m. at my grandma's house. So it
01:06was
01:06just a habit. And as I grew, my faith is continuing to grow. So for me, I know what my
01:10purpose here on
01:11this earth is. And it's not to play football. My purpose on this earth is to spread the gospel and
01:14glorify my father, my God in heaven. So I think he gave me football to use that platform. And I
01:20think
01:20the only reason I'm in this position today is because of him. I love that. That's beautiful.
01:25Your coach also had high praises up there. He said that you are not just a football player,
01:33of course, but he said you're a rare person that you do stuff outside of football. You do stuff within
01:39the community. Could you tell us more about things that you do off of the field? Because we know,
01:43obviously, you know, Heisman candidate, that's not everybody. Everybody obviously does not get
01:47that. So also we want to just get to know a little bit more about that. Yes. I have a
01:52non-profit
01:52foundation that's geared towards my faith. So using my platform with camps, with guest appearances,
01:58with guest speakers, just using my platform and anything I can to, my goal as a non-profit is to
02:03inspire the youth to Christ and letting them get to know who he is. So my grandfather was that to
02:07me.
02:08I hope to be that to the Tucson youth. So we'd run a camp where we play football for an
02:12hour,
02:12and then we talk about the Bible and testimonies for an hour. Then we gift people Bibles. So we've
02:18had so many stories where little kids are reading their Bible and send pictures of them reading
02:23their Bible. So for me, that impact will last longer than any football award. Absolutely. And
02:28that's important because football is big, and especially to those who play it. But it's important
02:35to know who you are outside of football, because we know football doesn't last forever. So if you have
02:39a strong foundation, then you're okay after football is over. One more question for you.
02:44To anyone who looks up to you out there, and I'm sure there are lots of kids and probably also
02:50adults
02:50who look up to you. Those who may be struggling, because honestly, lately people have been coming
02:57more outward with their faith and being comfortable to talk about it on such platforms. What would you say
03:03to a kid that loves the Lord and is out there, but in interviews, they're a little embarrassed to talk
03:09about him, to talk about their faith? To just believe in yourself. I mean, at the end of the day,
03:14it doesn't matter what the world says or thinks about you, because we were chosen out of the world.
03:18We're called to be disciples. We're called to be servants of Christ, and we're called to emulate
03:22him. So it doesn't matter what the world says, because at the end of the day, Jesus died for our
03:28sake, and Jesus died for us individually. So eternity is at stake. We got to do whatever we
03:33can to glorify him and point people to him. Thank you, and thank you so much. Good luck this season,
03:37and good luck with that Heisman. I appreciate it. I'm Candace Lamb with D210 Sports,
03:42and stay tuned for more Big 12 and more from us.
