00:03I'm Lacey Hawthorne and I'm Candice Lamb and we're with D210 Sports and we just wrapped up
00:08day two of the Big 12 media days. We were able to get a better picture of what this season
00:13will
00:13look like and for Big 12 fans I can't say that it's going to be a highly competitive season.
00:18Here's a couple of our takeaways from day two. I had the opportunity to speak with Arizona's
00:23quarterback Heisman Trophy candidate Noah Fafita and already his teammates his coach had high
00:29praises for him. His coach said he's a man of faith and I really love what he does off the
00:35field. Noah told me he has a non-profit organization and also his teammate says I love to get reps
00:40in
00:40with him. I love our chemistry. As a matter of fact earlier I don't know if you saw it but
00:45on the
00:46table when we came in what did we see? The resumes. I don't know who did it. Arizona's PR team
00:54but
00:54they had literally resumes and that wasn't the awkward part or not the awkward part but
00:59the fascinating part. It said Heisman Trophy. Heisman at the top. I asked Noah did you see that?
01:05He said it was a complete surprise to him and he wasn't mad at it. He says that that is
01:11one of the
01:11top honors that you could get in football so he's looking forward to if that happens winning it.
01:17So huge story for TCU. They've gotten a new quarterback this year. He's a grad transfer from Harvard where he
01:23holds
01:24a passing record for passing completions, touchdown passes, and passing yards. I asked head coach
01:30Sonny Dykes about what went into his recruitment and why he chose to go with Jaden Craig and he said
01:37that during the recruitment process he actually wasn't expecting to go with a transfer. He said
01:43that he looked at some tape and really enjoyed watching Craig play and then he also said that it
01:48wasn't just about his on-the-field presence but his off-the-field character as well. That's what
01:52really drew him in. Another interesting storyline for TCU is that they've just gotten a new offensive
01:58coordinator. His name is coach Gordon Samus. He was previously at UConn before joining TCU and what's
02:05interesting about Samus is that he is an offensive lineman coach but he also calls plays which you
02:11don't really see a lot of. Dykes said he really enjoyed watching Samus at UConn which ultimately led
02:16to his decision to bring him to TCU. We've been here for two days now. What was your favorite part
02:22of
02:22Big 12 days so far? Hmm I think my favorite part was just seeing all 16 teams under the same
02:30roof
02:30which we probably won't get to see again for the rest of the season. So just interacting with the
02:35players, interacting with the coaches, asking them fun questions off the field that you probably
02:40wouldn't ask them otherwise. I think that that was my favorite part of Big 12 media days. What about you?
02:46My favorite part was the interviews because usually we hear that oh players don't like talking to the
02:52media. They don't like interviews but it was a completely different story today. They were fun.
02:57They were energetic. They had great style. That's a wrap on day two of the Big 12 media days. For
03:03more
03:03on the Big 12 tune in to Spectrum Cable Channel 15 on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 11 p.m.
03:08I'm Lacey Hawthorne and I'm Candice Lamb and you've been Credential.
