00:16and I'm not just saying that because, like, you're on the show right now,
00:19but what were the judges watching?
00:22Like, you won the first round.
00:23You won the second round.
00:24Not much happened in the third, in my opinion.
00:27Fourth round, all right.
00:28The only time you ever landed anything, a couple of times in the clinch,
00:31I'll give him credit, right in the clinch,
00:32you land a couple of shots here and there.
00:34The knockdown was a flash knockdown, whatever,
00:37but you still won that round.
00:39Were you shocked, like, in the moment that you were like, draw?
00:43You've got to be kidding me.
00:44Like, what were your thoughts at that moment?
00:46In the moment, I thought the fight was done.
00:50Even in our contract, there was no sixth round
00:52because it's only meant for main events.
00:55So, at least, I was like, depending on how much weight they give that knockdown,
01:00but besides that knockdown, I was thankful that they posted the stats
01:04because the stats showed, one, I had a 67% landing rate,
01:09and then I landed 100 more punches during the course of the fight.
01:15But at the end of the day, I think they wanted just to give those fans
01:18their money's worth, and that's exactly what they got.
01:22And for me, it was like, hey, we're in the sixth round.
01:27Let's show them that.
01:28Let's put, like, the cherry on top to this fight
01:31and go out and solidify this fight with winning the sixth round.
01:35Well, and for people tuning in, guys, to put it in context,
01:40they didn't know on the broadcast.
01:42They said the fight's over, and they said,
01:44well, you never know what's going to happen in BKFC.
01:46There's another round coming up.
01:49You just said you didn't know, and, okay, fine, you have to do it.
01:53But how difficult is it?
01:55I was really curious.
01:56I was really looking forward to asking you this, Cody.
01:58How tough was it, and you and Jake had a ton of respect coming into this thing,
02:01you got to respect the hell out of each other after a fight like that,
02:04but you exhaled after the fight.
02:07I know it's like, you know what I mean, like, that the fight was over, right?

02:12You guys, like, basically embraced after the fight.
02:15How difficult was it to dial it up like that, like, oh, s**t,
02:19we got to fight again right now?
02:20How tough was that?
02:21I don't think it was that tough because at the end of the day,
02:25it's about your heart, and I'm like a dog.
02:29I'm going to keep going until you tell me to stop.
02:32And then, luckily, I had the best coaches in the corner.
02:35So one coach kind of motivated me.
02:37It was like, hey, how bad do you want this?
02:40Like, you've been asking for this moment.
02:42And then my other coach kind of dialed in on the game plan.
02:45So I had the best of both worlds.
02:46Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:47And then at the end of the day, I have the heart that's just going to keep going
02:50until I have to.
02:52And I hate to say this, too, and I'm not taking anything away from Jake
02:55because the guy's a freak of warrior.
02:58But just as far as the job is concerned, guys, if you heard his corner,
03:02like, watch the tape.
03:03Like, his corner was basically saying, listen, you're in a lot of trouble.
03:06You need to win this round and, like, finish this.
03:09Like, it's all you need to know.
03:11But they wanted to give the fans what they wanted.
03:14You know, watching it, you just said, like, you're going to keep going.
03:17You're like a dog.
03:19I always like to sort of think, you know, all right, like,
03:21what's one or two words to describe someone's fighting style?
03:25And would you say this is fair?
03:27Because when I watch you fight, if I would say, like, someone said,
03:30what's one word for Cody Russell?
03:33I'd say fearless.
03:35Is that a fair assessment?
03:37You go forward, you throw punches, and every punch you throw is with bad intentions.
03:43And that's what I just noticed when you're like, you're willing to get hit.
03:45But you just keep stalking forward.
03:47Not, you know, there's a lot of bobbers, a lot of weavers.
03:49Everyone approaches different.
03:50But I just look at you, and you look fearless to me in there.
03:53Like, you're not nervous.
03:54You're not, like, you're in your domain in this, aren't you?
03:58It's funny.
03:59Like Mike Tyson said, before the fight, there is those pre-fight nerves.
04:03And then as you each step, you get closer to the ring, those nerves just go away,
04:08and then you become a different person.
