00:00Talk to me about the fight and how quickly you healed because I saw you do a video a couple of days after the fight and you were looking pretty good.
00:07I guess that's like the badge of honor, though, like your Instagram, man, like you've got the ultimate pictures for life now.
00:14You know, you did it with one eye, but I still see it a little bit slanted here.
00:19But how's the eyesight? How's it coming? And how long is that going to keep you out for?
00:25I don't think it's going to be very long. I already took out my stitches a couple of nights ago.
00:28It's healing really well. It does look like I have a little squint to it.
00:33I don't know what that's about. It might just be some residual swelling.
00:37As far as vision, I see perfectly fine. So my vision came back later that night after the fight.
00:44It was blurry, but I was able to see out of my eye again. So all is well, man. I heal pretty quick.
00:53How hard is it fighting with one eye?
00:55Like, like, you know, like not to think about it. Do you start to freak out a little bit?
01:00I'm like, oh, my God, am I going to be blind? I can't see in one eye.
01:03Not to mention the angles, bro. So you getting lit up because you can't protect yourself in the same way, right?
01:10What's it like when you have one eye? Does it feel like you're fighting with one arm almost because you can't see all sides?
01:16It was a little mixture of everything. So the reason I took a knee, I felt fine.
01:23I did. The punch didn't daze me like, you know, my brain was great, but it was the weirdest feeling.
01:30I knew something was seriously wrong because my vision, it wasn't like blood was in my eye.
01:35It completely went black as it could be.
01:38And for a second, I thought my eyeball was popped out. That's that's the panic that set in because it was the whole left side of my face was numb.
01:48And my my sight was completely gone out of my left eye.
01:52So I'm looking on the canvas trying to see an eyeball.
01:55Wow. Yeah.
01:58You're literally looking to see if your eyes on the mat, right?
02:01You're a man. That's insane.
02:02Yeah. So if you rewatch it, you can kind of see me like shaking my head, if anything's dangling.
02:10And I heard I heard the ref counting. So I stood up. I said to myself, OK, the if my eyeballs out, the ref's going to wave and he'll be like, oh, my gosh, it's over.
02:19So are you OK to continue? I said, yep, my eye must be in.
02:24So that's too good. You put your faith in the ref.
02:29If I'm about to die, they're going to tell me they're going to tell me if my eyeball is rolling around.
02:35That is insane that that's flipping through.
02:38So then after how long did it take you to sort of get out of that and say, OK, I'm good to go.
02:43I'm good to go. And, you know, that's a lot of fear there.
02:47How do you overcome that fear of like what the hell just happened to me?
02:50You know what? I figured like, OK, my eye took some damage.
02:55It probably, you know, your your eyes are crazy the way they work, because my our oldest had got shot in the eye with a Nerf gun and he had some trauma.
03:07And your vision, your your eye actually shuts down when it experiences like serious trauma.
03:12So I kind of figure, OK, my eyes not falling out.
03:16I'm OK. It's just it's not working right now.
03:19But we'll figure that out later. I still got one good eye.
03:22So after the doc told me, he said, hey, if it gets any worse, I'm going to stop this fight.
03:27I said, all right, then I'm going to fight this guy one eye and I'm going to end it as fast as I can.
03:32So that was my mindset going to the second round.
03:34I knew my eye wasn't looking pretty.
03:37So I said, all right, I'm swinging for the fences.
03:39We're going to end this before it gets too bad and get and get stopped.
