00:00It was a very technical fight for both of you guys

00:03throughout the fight, but I think the big thing for you

00:05obviously was the pressure coming forward,

00:08putting him on the back foot.

00:09I think that helped in the eyes of the judges.

00:10Was it always the plan for you to kind of come forward,

00:13put him on that back foot, and then just look

00:15for those openings to try to pick him apart

00:17throughout the fight?

00:19Yeah, it was a good fight.

00:24My goal was to either knock him out or put him

00:27on his backside, but that didn't happen.

00:30He's a great contender, a great fighter,

00:33and it had to go to the decision, man.

00:35I was trying to keep pushing forward and hitting him

00:39and left, right, hooks, everything,

00:41and he wouldn't go down, and I was like,

00:43man, I have to figure something else out,

00:45and I was trying to go for the knockout,

00:46but it didn't plan out.

00:49Well, it seemed like you were in control

00:50for much of the fight, if not all of it at least.

00:53Obviously, you get it on the judges' scorecards.

00:55They give you a unanimous decision, 50-45, all three.

00:59If you're looking for it the other way,

01:01if someone was rooting for him,

01:02maybe they could have given him a round at best.

01:04I think that you were in control of it.

01:05I agree with him on that, but were you surprised

01:07by the way he fought, that he never made that adjustment,

01:10that he never maybe got a little more desperation?

01:12When I was watching the fight, I think it was

01:14after the third round, his corner was basically telling him,

01:16you got this, you're doing great.

01:18Are you guys watching the same fight?

01:19Because to me, he's down all three cards.

01:22What's going on here?

01:23Do you think he just had too much confidence

01:25in the way he was fighting to switch it up

01:27and put a little more pressure towards you?

01:30Yeah, he had a lot of confidence fighting me.

01:34This is bare knuckle, this ain't boxing.

01:38Any punch can knock anybody out in this sport,

01:41and that's what I love about it.

01:43Honestly, he was coming forward,

01:45taking all my hits that I was giving him.

01:47So it was very hard to knock him out.

01:50So he had combos coming in, pressuring me,

01:55and I thought he was going to bring more pressure

01:57than he was at first, but then he didn't.

02:00So I was like, man, I got to step on it.

02:02So then after the third round, I kept going forward

02:05and tried to knock him out, hit him on a couple of rights.

02:08He wouldn't go down.

02:11Yeah, you got some good punches there

02:13at the end of the third round.

02:14And I saw, you were trying to bait him in,

02:16you were trying to get him to do more action.

02:17I felt like in that second round,

02:19you were sticking that chin out a little bit

02:20with the hands down, kind of telling him like,

02:22go ahead and swing.

02:23You wanted him to get involved

02:25and maybe open himself up a little more

02:26so you can throw some bigger shots.

02:27But were you surprised that he didn't take the bait?

02:29Are you surprised that he never flipped a switch

02:32at some point and said, all right,

02:33I got to do something to really show

02:34that I am in control of this

02:36when he was backing up the whole time?

02:38Yeah, he was cautious, you know what I mean, coming in.

02:41That's why he wasn't engaging at the whole fight,

02:43you know what I mean?

02:44Because I was bringing it to him

02:46instead of normally me just being on the outside

02:49hitting people.

02:50I wanted to be the aggressor of this fight, and I was.

02:54I thought he would bring more grit.

02:56He was fighting more like a leprechaun the whole time.

02:59And I was like, man, it was hard to get in at first

03:02because I didn't want to get caught,

03:03but I had to just pot shot him and go forward,

03:07and that was the only thing.
