00:00I was pretty convinced that I had some sort of disease, HIV, AIDS, something. I was convinced
00:07that everybody would know or think that I was gay. I was weird for with this man. Everything
00:12he was doing to me, I would reciprocate to him. I eventually would perform moral on this grown man.
00:17I was very defensive of him, very protective of him. I knew his whole family. He had sisters
00:21that I would go to like their Thanksgivings and their Christmases. And so this guy is bringing
00:26this 12-year-old boy over for all of his Christmas holidays. So I told my grandparents that.
00:30I'm like, yeah, I know him. I know his whole family. He's cool. He's fine. My grandparents
00:33said, well, we need to meet him. After introducing him, he would come to my house every weekend.
00:38He would come and pick me up. He was very cordial about it. I think when my grandparents were
00:42involved, he may have realized that he was at risk of losing me because I had two parents.
00:48I had a father figure in my life with my grandpa. He actually became very close with my grandparents.
00:53He would come in and talk. Now that I'm thinking about it, I mean, it was brilliant on his part
00:58to close up that relationship. A few months later, I turned 13 and he's at my 13th birthday party.
01:03They threw me a surprise birthday party and he's there with all my family. I think my dad was
01:08actually there and everybody's kind of like, who the hell is this guy? And this is just my
01:12no big deal. He just me a couple months ago. But when I was almost 16, I was about a
01:16month away
01:17from being 16. I was up at his house one weekend and I had a friend that was with me
01:20who was a couple
01:21years younger than me. I noticed that the guy was starting to make the same kind of gestures towards him
01:25that he had done to me.
