00:00Fatlun Mak Ujud, a former president of Future Jaya Corporation, has been appointed the new mayor of Kuala Lumpur.

00:07Federal Territories Minister Dr. Zaliha Mustafa said Yang Dipertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim had consented to Fatlun's appointment, which will take effect from tomorrow.

00:17In a statement, Zaliha said she is confident that Fatlun will continue the legacy of leadership at Kuala Lumpur City Hall with integrity, efficiency and attentiveness to the aspirations of the people.

00:30Fatlun was appointed following the move to shorten Maimouna Sharif's tenure as mayor, which saw her time in office end today instead of on August 16th next year.

00:39Zaliha said Fatlun, 58, served as president of Future Jaya Corporation from 2022.

00:46She said during his tenure, Fatlun demonstrated outstanding leadership in strengthening the implementation of the Future Jaya Smart City Blueprint,

00:54the Future Jaya Green City Plan and various urban welfare initiatives based on the principles of inclusivity and sustainability.
