00:56But first, we're looking back to Destination X 2011,
01:01as Amazing Red, Alex Shelley, Robbie B, and Shannon Moore faced off in Ultimate X.
01:08Amazing Red will be making his TNA return this Sunday at Slammiversary.
01:13It'll be Red's first match in TNA in 15 years.
01:17But right now, here on Explosion, this is From the Vault, presented by TNA Plus.
01:22The following contest scheduled for one fall is the Ultimate X match.
01:27Introducing first from Cameron, North Carolina, Shannon Moore.
01:31Under my skin, under my skin.
01:33We reference the experience edge that Alex Shelley is going to have.
01:37This is the first time ever that Shannon Moore has competed in Ultimate X.
01:44I talked to him earlier, and he told me that with all the experience that he had in previous ladder
01:51matches,
01:52he thinks that he's going to be a natural to win Ultimate X.
01:57And his opponent from the New Jersey Shore, accompanied by Cookie, Robbie E.

02:30Which is not too uncommon for somebody like Robbie E from Jersey.
02:32They spend a lot of money on those tanning boots.
02:33He, however, just purchased his own tanning tent at his house.
02:39It's unbelievable.
02:40It's a giant tent.
02:41He sprays himself down.
02:42He says it's amazing.
02:44I'll tell you what, he's going to need more than that to win this.
02:46And from Brooklyn, New York, the Amazing Red.
02:53Out of the four, the second most in terms of experience.
02:57This is the third time that Amazing Red has competed in Ultimate X.
03:02And in the previous two, he won one of those Ultimate X matches.
03:06Certainly did, and recently wrestled in front of his hometown.
03:09We had a great show the other night in Brooklyn, New York.
03:11He vowed to win this tonight.
03:13And lastly, one half of the Motor City Machine Guns from Detroit, Michigan.
03:18Alex Shelley!
03:21And ladies and gentlemen, we are about to witness the 25th edition of Ultimate X in the history of this
03:31organization.
03:32Seven times in the past, Shelley has been in Ultimate X.
03:36This is Ultimate X match number eight.
03:40Shelley has won Ultimate X three times.
03:43Think of this.
03:44All three of Shelley's victories in Ultimate X.
03:47They were under tag team Ultimate X rules.
03:50Along with his Motor City Machine Guns partner, Chris Saban.
03:54And we know that Shelley is dedicating this match to his long-time tag team partner,
04:00currently on injured reserve, Chris Saban.
04:02Chris Saban visiting us here tonight.
04:04He's actually backstage.
04:06He was mentioning to me earlier how his recovery is coming.
04:09Still, many months from being back.
04:11But actually, believe it or not, has a cadaver's ACL.
04:15Really?
04:16When he went, underwent surgery on a Friday the 13th,
04:21was replaced.
04:22His ACL replaced by a cadaver's ACL.

04:27Again, the idea of this match.

04:57Ink, definitely on fire in the early going.
04:59Series of offensive moves,
05:01and he thought he was gonna be able to sneak to the corner
05:03and climb up the structure.
05:04But Red has other thoughts.
05:07Red's gonna employ every bit of that speed advantage he has.
05:10Probably the quickest of the four.
05:12All four very quick in their own right.
05:14But Red, uncanny speed,
05:16and he's gonna have to use it as much as he can in this matchup.
05:19And Red and Shelly square off on one side.
05:22Meanwhile, Cookie cheering on Robbie E,
05:25who's making his way up towards the cable.
05:27Now you've got that tough part.
05:30Hand over hand, but Robbie E making up ground in a hurry,
05:33and close to taking down the X,
05:34but Red able to catch him and drop him down.
05:38There's the quickness.
05:41multiple revolution with the kick.
05:44Robbie E never saw that one coming.
05:49And when you're talking about using your weight advantage,
05:52probably being the lightest of the four,
05:54Red has the ability to climb,
05:58get there a little quicker, get there a little faster.
05:59He's gonna need it.
06:02And Red thought he was gonna make his way to the structure
06:04and climb across.
06:06Instead, Alex Shelly overpowers it,
06:09tosses him from the court all the way across the ring.
06:13Robbie E taken down by the Shelly kick.
06:15Here comes Shelly right at Red.
06:21You can see the confidence in Alex Shelly.
06:23His eighth Ultimate X match, as you said, Mike.
06:25He's comfortable in there.
06:27He's comfortable in the surroundings.
06:29He knows what he has to do,
06:30and he's been in there with multiple opponents,
06:32as you mentioned before.
06:33How about that?
06:35Dragon Screw Leg Whip out of the corner,
06:37while he had Red's other leg wrapped around the ring ropes.
06:43Smart move by Shelly.
06:44You take the legs of Amazing Red away from him,
06:47and that speed, the quickness,
06:49and the ability to climb up the corner
06:51is taken away from Red.
06:53You know, a lot of times we've seen two before
06:54from Alex Shelly.
06:55He's taken out the arms of his opponents
06:56in these Ultimate X matches.
06:57Look at this.
06:58On the shoulders of Shannon Moore.
07:01You know, Mike, if you take out the arms,
07:03you can't climb.
07:04If you take out the ability to climb,
07:06you can't get to the center of the ring.
07:07You can't get the X.
07:08And that's probably the strategy that he learned
07:10from Chris Saban as Robbie E.
07:13Goes face first into the corner turnbuckle.

07:26Here comes Shannon.

07:34He's eyeing that X in the center of the ring.

07:37That's the goal.
07:41That's a long way to get there.
07:46Shelly heads to the corner,
07:47but Amazing Red quickly follows,
07:49pulling up the apron.

07:55Shelly with a series of elbows,
07:57and then the headbutt takes Red down.
07:59Looks like the opening is here for Alex Shelly.
08:06Regrouping in the corner is Shelly,
08:07gonna go hand over hand.
08:10Robbie E., you can see from the overhead cam,
08:13has got Shelly in his sights,
08:14and drags him down from the cable,
08:15and then towers him down to the mat.
08:17That's a long drop from those wires, Mike.
08:19It's a difficult landing no matter how you do it.
08:24And if you're pulled down from there,
08:26in the midst of trying to get to that center of the X,
08:28you're in a tough spot no matter how you land.
08:31How about Red taking Shelly off,
08:33and then Red quickly to the top.
08:37Robbie E., biggest of the four competitors,
08:40exploiting that size edge there on Red.
08:46Drops down, has both boots to the shoulder and arm of Red.
08:51And that's the strategy you talked about earlier.
08:53Not only take out the legs of your competitors,
08:55but also the arms.
08:57Yeah, he hit him with that foot pump he calls that,
08:59and that's a great move.

09:05Shannon Moore, clubbing blows.
09:07Shelly goes airborne, lands on the arena floor.
09:10Then takes Shannon Moore,
09:12and tosses him directly into Robbie E.
09:18The perfectly placed kick by Moore.

09:47Not able to capitalize on that,

13:32And a fire, you can come up with something else, like, more dangerous than this.

13:39And how about Cookie's involvement outside, hooking onto the leg of Shelly,
13:42and stopping him from climbing the corner.
13:47And at the same time as Shannon Moore climbs the structure,
13:50Amazing Red is making his way across the cable.
13:55And it's a race to the middle.
14:01And Shannon Moore looks like he's positioned himself
14:04just about directly above the X.
14:12If Shannon can drop down and take that X, but at the same time, Red is so close.
14:16Now, Shannon has dropped onto the cable.

14:29Looks like Shannon Moore is on the verge of taking down the X.

29:40What's up, everybody? Welcome to Around the Ring.
29:43As always, I'm your host, Gia Miller.
29:45And today we are sitting down with one of the newest members of the TNA roster.
29:51It is Ricky Sosa. Ricky, thank you so much for sitting down with me today.
29:55Thanks to you for inviting me.
29:57I'm so excited to talk to you because, you know, you're very young, but you've lived a very interesting life
30:03so far.
30:04Yeah, yeah.
30:04You've done a lot before becoming a wrestler.
30:08Yeah, yeah.
30:08Tell me a little bit about your background in sports, athletics, and education beyond.
30:14Everything before this.
30:15So, before I started wrestling, I started with football. So, soccer. And I've done like one year of soccer.
30:24Okay.
30:25But at first I didn't like it, so I went to basketball.
30:28Okay.
30:29I did one year, but I was bad. I was so bad, you know. So, like after one year, I
30:36dropped. And then I tried tennis.
30:38Okay.
30:39Because my dad wants me, wanted me to be in tennis, in the tennis world and stuff.
30:43Yeah, yeah.
30:44He thought I would be rich with that.
30:46Oh, yeah, yeah.
30:47So, I did it one year, but like it wasn't for me.
30:49Sure.
30:50But I always, I always was in love with football actually.
30:54Mm-hmm.
30:55And I had like a year of break. So, I went to music school.
31:01Wow.
31:01Tried this, you know, try to play instruments like piano.
31:05Okay. I was about to ask what instruments.
31:06Yeah, yeah. So, I tried piano. I mean, I can still play it.
31:12Okay, okay.
31:13But like, I'm not very good at it, you know. I'm decent, let's say that.
31:16Okay, all right, okay.
31:18And then I went back to football actually. So, I've done like seven, eight years of football.
31:25Wow.
31:26Yeah, yeah, yeah. I stopped in 2021 actually.
31:30Oh, wow. What was it that you loved about football? What drew you back to that sport?
31:38Honestly, it was always exciting to see, to watch the Champions League actually.
31:43Mm-hmm. So, seeing all my friends involved in the football world.
31:48So, I was like, damn, I want to be part of it, you know.
31:50Yeah.
31:50Yeah.
31:51And, yeah, just wanted to do something out of my life. So, I thought football was it, you know.
31:57Sure. Well, and we've got the World Cup is going on right now.
32:00Yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
32:01And it's going to be exciting over here in America. It's going to be really exciting.
32:06So, do you have, I know people have their teams. Who do you follow if you feel comfortable sharing?
32:11I know it can be very divisive.
32:14Because I'm from Belgium. I'm going to support Belgium.
32:18Of course.
32:18But I'm, deep down, I know they're not going to win it. And I'm born in the Netherlands. So, I
32:26may be supporting both.
32:28Okay.
32:28Belgium and Netherlands.
32:29Yeah, you can play in both flats.
32:31Yeah, for real, for real.
32:31I think that's okay.
32:32That's okay. And I also have Ivory Coast. So, my parents are from Ivory Coast.
32:37Oh.
32:38So, this is nice to have Ivory Coast as well in the World Cup. So, I'll be watching them as
32:42well, you know.
32:43Oh, my gosh. It is my dream to visit the Ivory Coast.
32:45It's beautiful.
32:46Beautiful, beautiful place.
32:48It's very beautiful. And, like, since the last seven, ten years, it became very big, you know.
32:56And, now a lot of people are traveling to there to go on vacation. So, this is cool. We have
33:01a lot of tourists now.
33:03You may see me there just soaking it in. One day you'll see me at the Ivory Coast. We're manifesting
33:08it. We're manifesting it.
33:09So, transitioning from football to wrestling, did you take anything from, and even your other sports as well, is there
33:20any concepts or principles that, when you started wrestling, you were like,
33:23Oh, this kind of reminds me of when I used to do this in soccer. Anything like that?
33:30Um, what am I going to say that?
33:33Yeah. I think maybe the celebration part. Like, when you win a match, you have the energy, you know.
33:40The showmanship.
33:41Yeah, the showmanship. Yeah. I was a big showman when I was playing football because I was a defender. And,
33:48you know, a defender, he has to defend his team so that they don't score.
33:52So, I was the guy that always had yellow cards, red cards. And, when I scored, I was always doing
34:00like a wrestling celebration.
34:01Uh-huh.
34:01So, this reminds me a bit of the time when I played football, you know. So, yeah.
34:08I can relate to you on that because, so, I played basketball for a really long time. And, I was
34:15not very good on offense. Oh, yeah.
34:17Do not give me the ball. I don't know what to do with it. Yeah.
34:19But, on defense, I was a very aggressive defensive player. Okay, yeah.
34:23And, I would also get, we didn't do yellow cards in basketball. Oh, yeah.
34:26But, I would definitely get some trouble from the refs. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
34:30I'd get in foul trouble a lot. I'd have to sit on the bench. Same, same, same.
34:34Well, so, we found a way that we connect. And, I think, I mean, you're definitely a very talented athlete.
34:42Thanks, appreciate it. And, it's been so awesome to see you in the TNA ring. And, you're only just getting
34:47started.
34:48Absolutely. I can't wait to see what all you achieve here in TNA wrestling.

34:58You know, I don't, I can, I cannot name five wrestlers from Belgium that has made it here in the
