No surprise here. Magnitude was this week's Fastest Horse of the Week after earning a 114 Beyer Speed Figure in the GI Stephen Foster Stakes. It was the second-fastest number so far this year. The Fastest Horse of the Week is sponsored by WinStar Farm, home of fast stallions like Constitution.
Transcript
00:00The fastest horse of the week brought to you by the fast sires at Windstar Farm.
00:05This week we're looking again at Constitution, who made some fireworks the week before the 4th of July on Stephen
00:12Foster Day at Churchill Downs.
00:14Constitution's hard-trying mayor, Pinup Betty, won the Anchorage Stakes for her fourth career stakes win.
00:21And then on the same card, Harrodsburg became Constitution's newest stakes and graded stakes winner with a win in the
00:28Bango Stakes, which is a grade three.
00:31Both of those races, the Anchorage and the Bango, carried purses of $275,000.
00:37Constitution stands at Windstar for a fee of $110,000.
00:43Fastest horse of the week, no surprise.
00:45We've already talked about Magnitude's 114 buyer's speed figure.
00:49We've pretty much said everything there is to say about the Stephen Foster, but I will add this.
00:54It is not the fastest buyer's speed figure of the year.
00:58Here are the top five right now as of last week.
01:01Number one, Englishman, his 115 in the Woody Stevens.
01:06Then comes Magnitude in the Stephen Foster.
01:08Then Nitrogen's 113 in the Ogden Phipps.
01:12Tied with the 112, Knights Bridge from the Gulfstream Park Mile.
01:16And Baeza from that second place finish last Saturday.
01:20And finally, why do Barrios won 111 in the Oaklawn handicap?
