00:00Let's join Rochelle now for tonight's weather forecast.
00:03Thank you, Desha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago.
00:07It's Monday, a wet Monday, but if you're a TV6 viewer, you already knew it was coming.
00:13You're welcome. Now, let's get into it.
00:16We got some scattered showers, a thunderstorm activity,
00:19which produce strong wind gusts across parts of north-central, central and southwestern Trinidad,
00:26as well as Tobago. Luckily, no reports of flooding were reported.
00:30And tonight, we'll start off initially settled, with lingering showers eventually becoming verbally cloudy,
00:37with scattered showers and the chance of thunderstorm activity, mainly after midnight,
00:42with minimum temperatures at 24 degrees in Trinidad and 25 in Tobago.
00:48Now, if you don't enjoy the rain and find yourself singing Rain, Rain, Go Away,
00:53well, you might want to sing harder because those showers are coming,
00:58mainly during the morning to early afternoon.
01:00And it will be accompanied by some party cloudy and breezy skies,
01:04with maximum temperatures reaching 32 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
01:09So, your umbrella will be good company to have with you tomorrow.
01:14So, although we're expecting rain for the next couple of days,
01:17Wednesday will bring some sunshine at times, along with hazy and breezy conditions.
01:22And on Thursday, things will get a bit wet and gloomy again,
01:26with cloudy skies and occasional showers.
01:29Tower sun times now in Trinidad, sunrises at 547 and 542 in Tobago,
01:34and sunset at 631 in Trinidad and 629 in Tobago.
01:38And with all this rain, you're probably wondering, what our seas are looking like?
01:43Well, seas will be moderate with waves 2 meters to 2.5 meters in open waters,
01:48and near 1 meter, occasionally choppy and sheltered areas.
01:52It's now time for your tight times.
02:04Now, the Met Office says from July to September 2026,
02:09Trinidad is expected to receive mostly near-normal rainfall,
02:13while Tobago likely to be drier than usual.
02:17Despite fewer rainy days, there is still a risk of flooding, especially in Trinidad.
02:22Warmer than average temperatures and short hot spells are also expected,
02:26so the public is encouraged to conserve water, clear drains, and stay updated with weather forecasts.
02:33And keeping you updated with what's happening next door,
02:37a strong aftershock has rattled northern Venezuela,
02:40sending terrified residents racing onto the streets.
02:44Five days after the twin earthquakes that killed 1,719 people,
02:50left thousands missing and triggered a growing humanitarian emergency.
02:54The aftershock that measured at a magnitude of 4.6,
02:59shook the capital, Caracas, and the devastated port city of Laguara,
03:04where rescue crews are still hoping to pull as many survivors as possible from the rubble.
03:09Well, that's unfortunate there.
03:12Well, that's all for weather tonight.
03:14And for my fellow Brazil fans celebrating our win against Japan,
03:18what a game!
