00:00I'm scheduled to box 10 rounds. I'm going over the rules of the dressing room.
00:03I expect you to obey my commands at all times. Most of all, protect yourself at all times.
00:07Tucker's been a little frustrated about not getting the big opportunity.
00:12He says, I've always been told to wait my turn.
00:14Well, tonight it's my turn and I'm going to make the most of it.
00:18As for Cedeno, he says, just bring it. I will knock this guy out,
00:22just like I've done 12 of my 15 opponents so far.
00:28This one's scheduled for 10 rounds. Chris and Sergio don't think it'll go the distance.
00:34First bite of the pay-per-view live from Brooklyn, New York. Here we go.
00:40Yeah, someone's going to get knocked out in this one.
00:42Too much firepower, too much confidence comes from Tucker.
00:45Overconfidence. When we spoke to him, it's really relaxed.
00:48We said, Cedeno, always swinging for the fences with that big power from that left-handed stance.
00:53Well, the confidence was really good.
00:55Nice start for Tucker.
00:57Oh, and big one-twos right up the pipe. Cedeno's got to wake up.
01:02And Cedeno's just blocking those, not worried about catching and countering.
01:05You can see that he's trying to hook. He's trying to hook with one big shot.
01:09He's a one-big-shot knockout artist.
01:12Boy, Tucker scored pretty regularly here already.
01:16Yeah, if you don't catch and counter, those are going to penetrate through the high-guard defense.
01:20That's a smart thing for Cedeno.
01:21It was hard to get a read on Tucker because he was confident in our fighter meetings.
01:26And then this fight was nearly canceled when Tucker was over two hours late for the weigh-in.
01:30The commission was minutes away from scrapping this fight when Tucker finally showed up.
01:35So he's lucky to be here at this time.
01:37And we'll see if that weight cut has any impact on the spread if it gets at those middle-lay
01:41rounds.
01:41Keep in mind, Cedeno has an eight-and-a-half-inch reach advantage.
01:48Cedeno doesn't jab a lot.
01:49As you can see, he catches. He's more of a hooker.
01:52You know, he loads up on every shot, but he telegraphs those shots.
01:56So Tucker can be really smart to catch and counter and not really give Cedeno anything to punch at
02:04and use the jab, box, stay in the middle of the ring.
02:08Tucker does have one loss.
02:10A surprising eight-round majority decision loss back in July of 2023.
02:16He hasn't lost six.
02:18I want to see how Tucker, if he does get hit, how he responds.
02:22If that power is real from Cedeno, then I want to see how he's going to respond once he gets
02:26flipped on the champ.
02:28Because you can see that Cedeno's going to give up rounds just to land that one big shot.
02:33You know, one thing about Tucker is that he is a deeply respected sparring partner.
02:38He has been in there with a lot of guys.
02:41Jacor Stevenson, Richardson Hitchens, Richard Comey, Sergei Derevchenko, Boots, Julian Williams, Shushu Carrington.
02:47The list goes on.
02:48He will take his gloves and travel anywhere to get sparring.
02:52And he has said that he takes pieces of all these guys away from these sparring sessions.
02:56That sounds great.
02:57It normally works out great, but sometimes you end up being in that sparring partner mentality.
03:02So I want to know if he learned from that.
03:04If he still wants to be as great as those things you just mentioned, or is he comfortable just hanging
03:08with those things?
03:10That almost hit him in the knee.
03:12And I don't disagree with you, Sergio.
03:14In fact, in a maybe a little bit similar way, I think Boots Ennis gets a lot of confidence from
03:17what he does in sparring.
03:19He is a tremendous sparring.
03:21Like, he gets guys out of there and sparring.
03:24I think a lot of his confidence gets derived from that.
03:26A nice flurry there from Tucker again, who's just more active and landing more punches.
03:32But Cedeno, as Sergio mentioned, doesn't seem too bothered by him.
03:37And that'll do it for round one.
03:49Once you're set up and out, don't wait for him to do anything.
03:52You know what I'm trying to say to you?
03:53Stop.
03:54Move wrong.
03:55Move wrong.
03:55Don't wait for him.
03:56Use your head and keep two guards up sometimes.
03:58And then keep switching it.
03:59But, yo, go for the body more.
04:01You're going to keep slowing him down.
04:02Then you come up in the middle.
04:03You're looking good.
04:04Keep using that jab.
04:05It's steady.
04:06You see me?
04:07Out of field.
04:09Middle of the ring.
04:11Middle of the ring.
04:14In the middle of the ring.
04:17It's all Jahai Tucker going around the guard.
04:19Straight shots.
04:20I don't know if Cedeno was letting him touch those gloves, be active.
04:26But Jahai Tucker really was able to punch at those gloves, get around the guard.
04:31Some of them got through.
04:33So, then they better start catching and countering those shots.
04:35It's not a good look at giving up rounds and punches like that.
04:3720 seconds into the break, Jahai Tucker was back standing in the middle of the ring.
04:43And his father slash trainer was the one that sent him there.
04:46You could hear him say, stand in the middle of the ring.
04:47Stand in the middle of the ring.
04:48I don't know if that's an intimidation tactic or what, Sergio, but he was out there quick.
04:52Yeah, no.
04:53My trainer used to do that as well.
04:55It's just basically you're marking your territory.
04:57That's your ring.
04:58Get in the middle of it and you shine.
05:00You let him know.
05:00I'd be more impressed with that if it was like in round eight or nine, not in round two.
05:05Well, that's the type of confidence that Jahai Tucker has.
05:08I mean, he's full of it.
05:09And he's all around a good fighter.
05:11That's what I noticed when I was studying.
05:13I'm really relaxed.
05:14He touches.
05:14He touches, touches, and pops you with something hard.
05:17He has really nice hands.
05:20That's what I want to see more of from Tucker, though.
05:22Some body shots.
05:24A guy like Cedeno that has a high guard.
05:26He's going to open up the ribs.
05:30Should Cedeno be trying to stay back away from Tucker, considering that eight and a half inch reach advantage?
05:36No.
05:36I mean, that's what's made him successful.
05:38He's an undefeated puncher.
05:40So, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
05:42Yeah, he's a pressure fighter and fights the live scene with pretty smart pressure.
05:47And I think for Cedeno, it's about weathering the storm in these early rounds and using your conditioning to your
05:53advantage.
05:53He came in on weight, was looking good, sounding good all week long.
05:57You want to try to drag this fight into the middle of eight rounds and then make your move.
06:01Here's a ten-round fight.
06:03What Tucker needs to do right now is keep boxing like you're doing right now.
06:06Not overload.
06:08Save some of your legs.
06:10Save some of that speed, some of that energy for the middle and later rounds.
06:13Because it is going to go there by what I'm seeing.
06:16I thought it was going to be more of a shootout.
06:18But Cedeno right now is comfortable just catching with that high guard.
06:22I think that's a lot of the amateur experience of Cedeno.
06:25As you see, wears those Olympic rings proudly.
06:28I was asking about that this week.
06:30I said, I've never seen the Olympic rings on the neck.
06:32I've seen them on the hip.
06:33I've seen them on the ankle, maybe the shoulder.
06:35He said, why would I want them there?
06:37People can't see it there.
06:38I'm proud of this.
06:39I was an Olympian.
06:40I wear them on my neck.
06:42That high guard from the amateurs works in the amateurs because you have puffier, bigger gloves.
06:48But it doesn't work in the pros with smaller gloves.
06:51And it works against him.
06:52So I think Cedeno, like many high guard fighters, certain fighters are great doing the high guard.
06:59You can see Tucker trying to hold on there.
07:01Cedeno didn't let it.
07:06And high guard ends up betraying most fighters.
07:10You know, right?
07:10You could easily punch through it.
07:12Either down the middle or around the gloves.
07:17You can already see the output of Tucker diminishing.
07:20Oh, good shot.
07:21There you go.
07:23Cedeno, like a good left hand right there.
07:25Tucker took that well.
07:32Good shot, yeah?
07:34Good one from Cedeno.
07:35Cedeno is playing possum actually strong.
07:37He's doing the round go.
07:38Hands go there.
07:50Calm down.
07:51Give the water.
08:00Listen to me.
08:00You got him already.
08:02You got to touch him downstairs.
08:03He didn't like it.
08:08Keep working the body.
08:13You see, Cedeno, both of them exchanging hooks.
08:15I think Tucker got the better of it, but Cedeno took that well,
08:19and this is what I saw right there.
08:21He didn't like that shot.
08:22Tucker didn't like that shot.
08:23He better keep that chin tucked because he can't be getting hit
08:26with the big shots, the looping shots from a puncher like Yuri Cedeno.
08:32And this time, Cedeno's off his stool early as well.
08:35Two alpha males in the middle of the ring.
08:39And Cedeno's corner, Chris, seemed very enthusiastic,
08:42saying basically, you've got this already.
08:45Yeah, I think they like the body work especially,
08:47and that's going to be the key to slowing down Tucker.
08:51I mean, they took notice, obviously, of the delay at the wave,
08:55and they believe that Tucker did have problems making weight,
08:58considerable problems.
08:59And I think digging down to the body is a smart strategy in this fight.
09:02Well, Cedeno, who has an 86% KO win rate,
09:05makes him statistically the biggest pusher Tucker has faced.
09:09And we'll see if he can start to wear Tucker down
09:12with some of these heavy hands.
09:14There's another one.
09:18Cedeno telegraphs his power, but if you're going to have,
09:21if you're just going to stand in front of a puncher like that,
09:23then it's not going to matter how fast he comes at you,
09:25how much he telegraphs it, because he's always going to hit something.
09:28Punchers love hitting anything you offer,
09:30the shoulder, the forearm, the bicep.
09:33That encourages them.
09:35The way you discourage them is making them miss completely,
09:39moving around the ring, outclassing them with footwork,
09:41with style, with speed, with jabs.
09:45Chris Maddox's scorecard for the first two rounds.
09:48Yeah, I gave the first round to Jai Tucker,
09:50but the second to Yuri Cedeno.
09:52A competitive second round, but I thought the body work
09:54and the late-round activity from Cedeno got it done.
09:58So, 19-19 right now in my scorecard.
10:02Good combination there by Tucker going down to the body first.
10:06Right hand downstairs, which is a punch you want to throw
10:09against the southpaw and lead right hand going around the guard.
10:12That high guard is on that hook.
10:20Tucker going down to combination,
10:22but those gloves of Cedeno blocking most of the shots.
10:26Good left hand there from Cedeno as well.
10:33Cedeno just is absorbing the punches and continuing to come forward.
10:37He knows that one of his is worth maybe two of Tucker's.
10:41Look, Cedeno is the more accomplished amateur,
10:44but there's no doubt in the pros John Tucker has about it, isn't it?
10:49The bazooka landed some shots, but Tucker firing back.
10:54Tucker, though, not known as a power guy,
10:56just seven wins and his 16 victories.
10:59Seven KOs run.
11:00I like that body shot by Cedeno.
11:01I want to see more body shots in the low-arm heavy-handed puncher.
11:05And you can see that Tucker in like those body shots.
11:09The crowd's sensing it.
11:10Tucker doing everything he can to stave off the bigger, stronger man.
11:15But how much longer can he do it?
11:17Tucker better get some respect.
11:18He needs to hurt, Cedeno.
11:20Cedeno's going to keep coming.
11:21He's like Frankenstein with his gloves up.
11:23Just keeps coming, nothing hurting him.
11:25Tucker better do something quick.
11:31Good shot there by Tucker.
11:33Tucker, he's doing what he needs to do, but there's an uppercut.
11:41Gotta love it.
11:54Body, body, body.
11:55Do me a favor.
11:57Stop doing it.
11:58I forgot.
11:59I'm going back here.
12:00You hear me?
12:01Don't go back there.
12:02Listen, don't go back there and you stay in just in the body.
12:05You keep turning, but don't stay in front of him.
12:07Sometimes you got to walk him.
12:09You hear me?
12:09But when you walk him, walk him.
12:10It's like twinkle, twinkle, twinkle, twinkle, twinkle.
12:12Remember that.
12:13You hear me?
12:14All right.
12:15Tucker, what you're doing?
12:16Hey!
12:17Jahai Tucker going against the little jabs on the inside.
12:22Good body shot, big body shot there by Sedanian, but I like the little shots right there.
12:26Not loading up with Jahai Tucker.
12:29That body shot got blocked a little bit by the right hand of Tucker, and it would have done a
12:33lot more damage.
12:35Quick little shots down the middle, down the pipe for Jahai Tucker, and I think he had a good run
12:39there.
12:40I don't recall a fight where both fighters are adamant that they get into the middle of the ring before
12:45the bell rings.
12:46They're just standing there waiting.
12:48That's a macho thing, you know?
12:50You just want to claim your territory.
12:52Two Alfred Mills in there.
12:56Good body shot.
12:57See, that's what's going to break down Tucker.
12:58Let's see if Sedanian keeps landing shots like that, and if that power is real, it will take away legs.
13:05And Tucker has faced some pretty good punchers in his career and has hung in there with him.
13:12Yeah, Tucker doesn't like those body shots.
13:13He might be hurt of a body, guys.
13:15A little bit of a low blow there from Sedanian.
13:18Sedanian from Dominican Republic, but the Puerto Rican fans here in the arena seem to have adopted him for this
13:23fight as we look at the punch stats.
13:25And you see the power punches favoring Sedanian in that third round.
13:3048 thrown as well.
13:33It's been a great Saturday fight night so far here on DAZN.
13:38Good undercard bounce, and our first pay-per-view bout is off to a roaring start.
13:44You have that right hand that Tucker do downstairs.
13:46You've got to stop the aggression, the pressure of Sedanian.
13:51It starts with a torso.
13:52You know, you can either jab or throw straight right hands to the chest or the torso area.
13:57You've got to bend Sedanian in half and then come around the guard.
14:04It's going to be a hard-line clean shot to get that high guard, so you've just got to take
14:07whatever you get.
14:18Well, Tucker has been more active.
14:22Got to give him that.
14:23Yeah, Tucker needs a box.
14:24You see, now he has the right idea.
14:27Because Sedanian's not letting his hands go.
14:28He's not really gaining no points either.
14:30He's looking for the big shots, but while he's doing that, he can be outpointed by jabs and right hands.
14:36Even though they're not solid or landing clean or hurting, there's still points.
14:43Nice.
14:44Left cross there from Sedanian to Southpaw.
14:48From La Romagna, Dominican Republic.
14:52A couple body shots there from Tucker.
14:53It spins out nicely.
14:54Love that move.
14:55Three-piece combination.
14:56Gets a nice little pivot.
14:58Tucker should step first before he pivots because he's still right in front of the right hook of Sedanian.
15:04And he's still in the line of fire, so that could turn against Jahai Tucker if he keeps doing that.
15:15See, just like that.
15:17See how Sedanian took a step and got an angle?
15:19That's how you're supposed to flank opponents.
15:21What you don't do is just turn with that pivot front foot because you're still in the line of fire
15:25of the hooks.
15:28Step, then twist, then turn.
15:36Good combination against the Southpaw.
15:38Two-one.
15:39Switching things up instead of a one-two.
15:41Let's go backstage as Emily Austin is with Ben Whittaker.
15:46First and foremost, I want to give you a warm welcome.
15:49I hear this is your U.S. debut.
15:50How are you feeling about it?
15:51Feeling good.
15:52I feel like it's supposed to happen.
15:54We're here now.
15:55We're getting there warm up.
15:57We're going to show the world what we do.
15:58Well, I've been watching you for years.
16:00You are arguably one of the most entertaining boxers.
16:02But tonight, when fans are on their way home, what do you want fans saying about you on that drive?
16:07That's what I wanted to say.
16:09I want you to bring me back out here and maybe headline next time.
16:12Maybe headline next time?
16:13Any prospects?
16:15We'll see.
16:16We'll see.
16:17Well, good luck tonight.
16:17Thank you so much.
16:18Awesome.
16:18Thank you very much.
16:20When he goes in the room, I'll stop.
16:24Nice left hand there by Bazooka.
16:26Landed around on the chin of Tucker.
16:29But see, look at those shots.
16:31Going around the guard.
16:32If you're not going to go under those shots, a puncher, like Cedaniel, will punch through that guard.
16:36Through that glove right there.
16:38Trying to do the...
16:40I've never liked that defense that they do.
16:43That Ken Norton-type defense.
16:45Because fighters with speed can easily go around that guard with two hands.
16:51Chris Mannix, your scorecard through four rounds.
16:53Yeah, I've got it even up.
16:5438-38.
16:55That third round was so competitive between these two guys.
16:59But I edged it slightly to Jai Tucker for the overall activity.
17:03Much clearer round for Cedaniel in that last round.
17:05But I think the momentum is on the side right now of Cedaniel.
17:09He's still taking some shots.
17:10But that body work he's been doing over the last couple of rounds,
17:13that's been, I think, the most effective punching in this fight.
17:22Cedaniel now on the front foot.
17:25Yeah, I had his shots.
17:27He's coming off a 10-round unanimous decision win over Attundi Mikkel.
17:32William, that was back in January.
17:36Scored a couple of first-round knockdowns.
17:38Couldn't put him away.
17:41And he put Tucker away.
17:45Good shot.
17:46Another 2-1.
17:47See, that's a nice punch against the left-hander.
17:50You can tell that Tucker practiced that shot.
17:55But the more that Cedaniel punches, even when he's punching at the gloves and the biceps,
18:00you can tell the power is real.
18:01The power is real by Bazooka Cedaniel.
18:04Heavy-handed.
18:09I'm surprised you are more critical of Cedaniel for not exploiting the 8-1⁄2-inch reach advantage.
18:15I know you keep saying he's a power puncher.
18:16Let's get inside.
18:17But you go with the gifts you're given at some point, right?
18:20And that's your Sebastian Fedora.
18:22Naturally, but he also with big puncher.
18:25Todd Nielsen, yes, he has an extremely long reach.
18:28You would expect him to want to use it in boxing.
18:29When you have an 85% knockout ratio, you want to get in there and explode with them hands as
18:35well.
18:36Tucker tries to show some head movement.
18:38Has his gloves down by his waist.
18:42See, the body shots is breaking down Tucker.
18:45I think he's feeling those body shots.
18:46You can see the hands getting lower and lower.
18:48And Cedaniel, even though they're partially blocked, they're still doing damage.
18:52Tucker's having a pretty good round there, Sergio.
18:54He's made Cedaniel miss multiple times.
18:57He's been able to spin out before getting caught in these exchanges.
19:01Tucker's side with top rank when he turned pro at the age of 17.
19:07That was six years ago.
19:09This is by far the biggest fight he's been in.
19:18Tucker has a bad habit of running that lead left hand.
19:21And he's only found that even when he's in control of rounds and he controls the fight,
19:25he drops the hand.
19:26That's a bad habit.
19:27To have when you're in and you start facing punches and actually evolving as a contender.
19:35Another nice job by Tucker making Cedaniel miss.
19:39Two times in this round.
19:40One, two, three, three, four.
19:45Two, three, four.
19:47One, two, three, four.
19:48One, two, three, four.
19:49Clarissa Shields is set for another historic challenge.
19:52On August 15th, the undisputed women's heavyweight champ drops down three weight classes to challenge
19:56Australia's unified champion Kay Scott for the WBC and WBA
20:01middleweight world titles that's live and exclusive on the zone
20:06from Atlanta, Georgia.
20:20Tucker with that 2-1 tutor to come in the front.
20:25And he did box well here, he controlled the range with that nice jab,
20:30pawing away, not overloading on punches.
20:32Was Tucker using the entire ring?
20:34That's what he needs to do to not only win rounds,
20:37but gain confidence and momentum moving forward against this puncher.
20:44All right, we're in round 6, scheduled for 10.
20:49I know Chris Mannix has it pretty close.
20:52Sergio, what about you?
20:53It feels to me that maybe Tucker could be up four rounds to one,
20:57at least three rounds to two.
20:58No, no, he's up in points.
21:00But look, I'm invested in those body shots that Sabaniel's landing.
21:04You know, I'm not saying that he's winning this fight,
21:07but he's in the fight.
21:10And it seems like his punches are actually having more toll on Tucker than Tucker's punches on Sabaniel.
21:25And like Mannix mentioned earlier, you know, judges' life whenever a fighter's pushing the fight coming forward.
21:33Tucker's boxing nicely landing at 2-1.
21:35Man, those are clean shots and easy to see.
21:38But if you're not dictating the pace of the round with a job,
21:41then, you know, one shot could change, change the trajectory of that round.
21:48Just like that, you know, in and out cleanly with a big shot.
21:52Sounded good.
21:54I like the body shots, this is it.
21:56Sabaniel do really need to get back to that.
21:59I feel it.
21:59I feel it.
22:00I feel it.
22:01I feel it.
22:01I feel it.
22:02I feel it.
22:02I feel it.
22:03I feel it.
22:03I feel it.
22:04Good shot.
22:05partially blocked over by Tucker.
22:07See, there you go.
22:08That's Sabaniel's MO right there.
22:11But he needs to hide that power.
22:14Hard to do in right of 70, 80 inch reach, but he needs to do it.
22:19Sabaniel's older brother Henry is also a boxer.
22:22Fights at 154 pounds.
22:24He's 16 and out.
22:27Yeah, both these guys training out of the Redding, Pennsylvania area.
22:32Henry was supposed to fight back in January.
22:34Had some medical issue, but he'll be back in the ring soon.
22:37They're both very talented guys.
22:52Tuckin' out comfortably, letting Sabaniel get on the inside.
22:59Those slight flip things that Tucker's doing, keeping Sabaniel off and from punching and overloading with a big left hand
23:07to the ball.
23:07Daniel hasn't really done much this round, even though Tucker's been up against the ropes.
23:13And he's got a couple of rounds now where it just seemed like the output started to diminish.
23:18I don't know if it's fatigue or if it's Tucker doing a better job making a miss, but...
23:2810 seconds to go here in the 6th, a quiet round, and that favors the busier fighter, which is John
23:33Tucker.
23:44There's the world-famous Brooklyn Bridge as we are back in New York, New York, in the Brooklyn Borough here
23:52at the Barclays Center.
23:57Good look inside, where they're expecting well over 15,000 fans here by the time we walk the main event.
24:04Boots Ennis taking on Sanders Zayas.
24:10Nice bounce on the toes of Tucker.
24:12There's that 2-1.
24:13Beautiful shot.
24:14So not overloading, not concentrating on power, just rocking the head back, making it easier for judges to see the
24:21points being landed.
24:23That's what I want to see from John Tucker moving forward.
24:26Not trying to hurt Cedaniel, not trying to go for the knockout, just being in control, and maybe a couple
24:31more jabs as well.
24:34Well, Cedaniel's got to get busy.
24:36I'm sure there's some people out there that have him down maybe five rounds to one.
24:42And if he's going for that knockout and investing solely in that, good luck to him.
24:48Only four rounds to go.
24:52Speaking of score cards, Chris, how do you have it?
24:54Yeah, I've got a 58-56 in favor of Jahai Tucker.
24:58Gave him these last two rounds.
25:00Again, the activities you pointed out, Todd, was just there for him.
25:03We haven't seen Cedaniel digging downstairs to the body, being more active.
25:07It's created kind of these opportunities for Tucker, who's not the whirling dervish we saw in the first round and
25:11a half,
25:12but he's still been able to land some pretty good shots.
25:14So 58-56, Jahai Tucker on my car.
25:18Those good body shots there by Cedaniel, right?
25:20That's what he's going to have to do.
25:21I think he's caught the attention of Tucker downstairs and he keeps the elbows tucked in
25:28from Tucker to at least a long shot.
25:31So body shots is what Cedaniel needs to keep focusing on.
25:34Yeah, Cedaniel had Tucker there in the corner, waded and waded, waded through one punch, swung and missed.
25:40And you can see that Cedaniel has really heavy feet.
25:43And that's the reason every time that Tucker moves, he has to reset.
25:48And whenever you're not fast-weighted like that, if you put it, you can use that against them, their slow
25:55feet.
25:57Irv's having to reset.
25:59But you need a jab for that.
26:00And that's what I think Tucker's been lacking, popping that jab, controlling.
26:04Cedaniel had this crowd really into it over the first four rounds.
26:08But they have gone quiet and so has he.
26:16And now, you said how great of a sparring fighter Tucker is.
26:21This looks like a spar.
26:24Now, the pace has certainly slowed down considerably.
26:28I still think both these guys led us to decent shots.
26:30Good uppercut there from Jahayataka.
26:35Back-to-back.
26:42Well, he's not fighting like a guy that struggled to make weight, Chris.
26:46Seems like he's the fresher fighter now.
26:47Seven rounds in, yeah, he looks pretty good at this point.
26:50I think he expended a lot of energy.
26:51Now, I'd imagine, Sergio, when we get to the ninth and tenth round,
26:53some of that energy starts to come back, starts to course through him again
26:56as he gets that adrenaline rush.
26:58Yeah, normally you get your second when an adrenaline kicks in.
27:04Cedaniel just seems to be a little lost in there right now.
27:06Yeah, he's following around Tucker now.
27:08Tucker's been jabbing, so it seems like he's dictating,
27:11he's dictating Cedaniel a lot more.
27:14But then when you're jabbing like that and moving on there,
27:16not letting your opponent really put plants' feet to punch,
27:19then that's, you know, you've got to credit, win generalship today.
27:22You've got to credit that jab, and that's the sweet science.
27:25You know, you control it more with that long stick.
27:32Again, Cedaniel around passes by where he just doesn't seem to do enough.
27:51The second installment of the fight series on DAZN,
27:54and TNT comes to you from fabulous Las Vegas.
27:57Lamont Roach Jr. returning to the championship stage August 1st
28:01as he battles William Zepeda for the vacant WBC Lightwave World title.
28:06That'll be at the Virgin Hotel Theater.
28:09Who do you like in that one, Sergio?
28:10Oh, man, I love this fight.
28:11And Lamont Roach has come up short with trials,
28:14and he probably should have won, but I love that style.
28:17You got Zepeda, a pressure fighter, a softball, always in your face,
28:21and Roach, a little bit of both.
28:23But Roach misses it down out on. Love it.
28:24Every time he gets the middle of him, he's much crunching low.
28:30Nice uppercuts down the middle by Cedaniel on the inside.
28:35He needs to start roughing up, Tucker.
28:37Starts to make it a lot uglier.
28:39Use that long reach to really annoy your opponent with punches anywhere,
28:43because this fight's getting away from you in Cedaniel.
28:46Yeah, he may have to win the final three rounds.
28:51But he's been aiming and angling for that knockout.
29:01Now going back to the jab. I haven't seen a ton of those.
29:07Tucker's just found a way to neutralize it.
29:12Confusing.
29:13You know, I'd expect a fighter with the amateur pedigree of Cedaniel
29:18to be a little bit better at cutting the ring off.
29:20He is just kind of following around out there and allowing Tucker
29:23to get shots like that off.
29:24And there you see some of the punch stats.
29:26105 landed for Tucker.
29:28A little bit of an edge on throwing as well.
29:30It is a competitive fight, no doubt about it.
29:32And Tucker, I bet a lot of those landed punches came in the first round
29:35when he was letting a lot of them go.
29:36But it just feels like over the last few rounds,
29:38Tucker's done just a little bit more than Cedaniel.
29:41And moving around the ring using the entirety of the ring as well.
29:45So, now, as long as he keeps himself off the ropes
29:50and Tucker in the middle of the ring and running shots like that,
29:53but not a big shot because he's doing more than Cedaniel
29:55and just following him around.
30:02Jeffrey telling these guys to keep it clean.
30:05A minute and a half left here in round eight.
30:09This fight started out red hot and it sits cooled off considerable.
30:15Well, U.S. Daniel doesn't have your typical
30:20Olympian style of fighting.
30:22Normally, you're successful on the amateur level on the Olympian.
30:25Yeah, the great one, too.
30:26You got clean punches.
30:28You don't follow a premise around with their high guard.
30:31But that's exactly how Cedaniel fights.
30:35You know, I'm impressed with how Tucker's kind of settled into this fight.
30:38If you watch some of his more interesting performances,
30:41Chuck Simpson, Troy Williamson, a couple of others,
30:45he's been pretty good at being kind of a whirling dervish in there
30:48throwing a lot of punches.
30:49This is a nice, disciplined performance over the last five, six rounds.
30:54Good straight left there by the bazooka.
30:56He's having a better round here just because he's throwing more punches.
31:02Better, but I feel like what Tucker's doing.
31:05If Tucker could just start touching the body with Cedaniel, there you go.
31:08See that?
31:09Don't touching the body.
31:10That's how you start, you know, getting Cedaniel to think twice
31:14and just walking in so comfortably.
31:16Yeah, I don't think Tucker's doing anything great,
31:18but they do see Cedaniel missing.
31:20One punch out.
31:21One, two punches out.
31:22Just not putting combinations together when he's tracking Tucker down.
31:25And Sergio, when you've got a reach of 76 and a half inches,
31:29when you rear back to fire that power punch, it takes a long time to get there,
31:32and Tucker's reading it.
31:34Yeah, you can take advantage of those long arms,
31:36especially if they're a telegram.
31:38Because if you don't have speed behind you,
31:39then the long arms turn against you.
31:49You gotta breathe.
31:50Come on, man.
31:51You got him there.
31:52He's in front of you.
31:54Come on, you have to throw combinations.
31:56What's wrong with you?
31:59Look, forget about the hook.
32:05Forget about the hook.
32:06You gotta throw a straight shot.
32:08That right hand.
32:11Everything down the middle, you understand?
32:13Down the middle and dig the body.
32:19Come on, he's tired.
32:21Let's go.
32:23You gotta put pressure.
32:25You got combinations and pressure.
32:27Down the middle, aim for the body.
32:30you know contrast that look on the corner of cedeno with how they looked after the second
32:36round when cedeno was doing some good work a lot of concern looks on the faces of cedeno's
32:41corner men including his brother uh urgency now for these final two rounds there's the urgency
32:46there that shot right there to the body how come he hasn't been thrown that more often
32:51cedeno load up on those shots see if that power is real whenever you have long arms and power behind
32:58it you know you're forced to to respect it and block and think defensively because they could
33:04unleash it with longer with a longer range from a longer distance all right chris through eight
33:09rounds how do you have it yeah i've got jai tucker seizing control of this fight over the final four
33:14rounds of last four around 78 74 on my scorecard i don't think tucker is dominating by 80 cents but
33:20there's just a lot of following around from cedeno not enough combinations you heard the corner
33:25saying hey forget about the hooks forget about some of this other stuff straight down the middle go to
33:29the body let your hands go they can feel this fight slipping away from their fight
33:34sergio do you think he was just looking too hard for the home run shot in the early rounds
33:39you know it must have been that or overconfidence so it's still it's still overconfidence because he's
33:47talking to his opponent still coming forward but he's following tucker around he's not trying to
33:51jab he's not trying he's not trying to cut off the wind with punches see one shot missing and then
33:57it's
33:57back to following
34:01where's the double or triple jack backing him up making him making the judges see that you're
34:06backing up your opponent then landing something hard to the body
34:17good body shot there but it's not not enough but this round tucker has gone a lot quieter he's not
34:23firing back like he has but according to chris's scorecard he really doesn't need to just make it to
34:29the end of the test we saw one judge in that edwin rodriguez dennis thompson match our prelims that
34:45got it completely opposite the way we saw it so who knows how the judges have this one
34:51and got some blood from the nose down from jahai tucker
34:54but this round just seems like it's so there for cedeno to win if he just becomes a little more
35:07active
35:12maybe he just doesn't have it sergio he's just too drained right now
35:16you know i don't think so he's slow on the trigger with cedeno he telegraphs his power
35:24he loads up a lot he neglects neglects the jab and it seems like maybe now it's conditioning
35:30turning against him as well but missing a gear because you're standing
35:39putting in on another gear because jahai tucker
35:41and it's just going to turn on the brakes
35:56last round
36:01listen you got to do something spectacular you understand
36:06look last round what is this from
36:09so you got to push him back let's go
36:16you got to let your hands go look at me
36:22and once again tucker says meet me in the middle
36:28you got to love that bravado
36:30told the line baby
36:36you heard the corner cedeno telling plainly you've got to do something spectacular here you have to win this round
36:50see this is what i expected
36:52no don't don't ruin it
36:54don't ruin it if you're jahai tucker
36:56this is the little bit of the crazy in jahai tucker
37:03you gotta be careful he almost had him over the ring rope there that could have been a disqualification for
37:08tucker that could have been
37:09a disaster
37:11so daniel would have had him in a chokehold but the referee couldn't see
37:23well it's now or never for cedeno
37:25la bazooka
37:27that's their way in the bottom
37:29and if i was cedeno i would
37:32continue to want and say irritate
37:33do the exact same thing getting in there
37:36wrestling mauling
37:38getting a little bit of doing this is this is the last round do whatever you have to do
37:42now cedeno up on his toes trying to freshen himself up
37:46good body shot
37:53tucker can't afford to take another round off here
37:58the first few rounds were really competitive i think the first was really only one that he won
38:03absolutely cleanly and as we mentioned thomas the pressure fighter here has been cedeno he's been
38:08coming forward hasn't been great but he's been the aggressor in this fight
38:13it's again being a little bit quicker with unleashing his combinations in this room
38:18all this time i thought he lacked speed it wasn't lacking speed he wasn't letting his hands go
38:24tucker try to push cedeno back a little bit look at cedeno he's not putting power the angle shot
38:30so he looked quicker and speed actually intimidates more than power
38:41so daniel's starting to taunt tucker which may not be the smartest move
38:48but sometimes that's a defense mechanism isn't it sergio you've been hit you're just trying to
38:52act like it didn't hurt you and sometimes it's sometimes it's just foolish provoked
39:01they both tried to land a power shot down
39:04both come up empty half minutes ago final round
39:09we didn't think it was going to go the distance but it has
39:20a physical firefight i expected more from cedeno i got what i expected from tucker
39:28but i think it was me that could have done more in this fight and unleash
39:34more power more combinations and it made it difficult for jai tucker
39:41and that'll do it jai tucker seems to have done enough of cedeno celebrating like he won
39:51and sergio that last round was kind of a microcosm cedeno seemed to be winning it to
39:56the final 15 20 seconds and then just let tucker throw more punches and kind of boss him around a
40:01little bit yeah i mean i i don't know how the judge is going to have this fight i would
40:05think
40:06that tucker controlled the action a lot more it's tucker cedeno had his moment especially you know
40:13with single shots but for him to be that confident to jump on the ropes like that like he won
40:17this fight
40:18it behooves you it what behooves you completely the wrong text
40:28there you go staying on this one
40:34we'll show you some highlights from the 10th and final round where cedeno was doing okay but didn't
40:39just stop throwing punches at the end and tucker took over and that's probably the cleanest combination
40:44that tucker was throwing it's a simple 2-1 the straight shots whenever you have that high guard
40:50defense you know you could they're allowing you to to try to penetrate i'll be interested to see how
40:57these judges scored this fight i do think cedeno finished this fight strong but he seemed to give
41:02away a lot of those middle rounds now they were competitive and again jai tucker wasn't exactly
41:07dominant throughout the course of this fight but cedeno seems very happy for a guy that's probably
41:13going to be on one of the ends of a close decision well this corner if they were honest with
41:19him in the
41:19last round were saying you've got to win this round you got to do something spectacular and he did not
41:24do
41:24that in the 10th but again if you ask cedeno right now he says of course i beat it
41:30him in the 10th and he says of course he's going to be on the 10th and he's going to
41:36be on the 10th

42:58Two of the judges didn't think it was all that close, but one had it even.
43:02These guys have been all over the place, so we've seen different things from different judges.
43:07I thought it was a comfortable display of boxing, but Jahai Tucker, one judge having a 95...
